Really, 13 and up for an Irving Berlin picture, it boggles the mind. I appreciate the difference between law and the recommendations of industry but assume that Amazon has their finger on the pulse of our nation's sensibilities. There are other trends also that I have a harder time wrapping my head around or articulating. Here we have new legal forms of State level censorship along with self censorship of the entertainment industry. There is also a new form of political correctness shaping up that when combined a ratings based approach to news media is turning maters of domestic and foreign political affairs into something much closer to entertainment than news. etc etc etc I am no smart guy but I think there are many trends to be concerned about.

Alright fellas lets here those resolutions. I am in good stead but have had a less active winter so far due to work and travel. It is not really much of a resolution but I am going to focus on getting back into 100% workout attendance with my team. I have been near 100% for the past three years but the past couple of months have been a little touch and go. Mainly letting work get in the way, which is bullshit. @SMdoubleXL Maybe you should consider a easy fitness routine? You were talking in another thread about some struggles with injury and adversity. It can be a heavy thing to do but even the smallest of routines have the potential to help in terms of well being. I personally think that regardless of the exercise that doing that kind of work for yourself is the most important part, like knowing that you care enough about to do it is in and of itself a really big deal. @angelofdeath where you at dog, I feel like you should check in and share your gains.

Closing out another calendar year sober. Getting ready to turn some fruit in to juice and agua fresca in order to have the makings of some non alcoholic drinks for the evening. Last night I made a drink with rosemary simple syrup, grapefruit juice and seltzer water. Inadvertently drank some liquor at work the other day, someone was pouring shots of a ice-cream based drink and my dumb ass thought that since it was 7 in the morning in a work environment that is was a non alcoholic concoction. When I realized it had liquor I finished it anyway because I did not want to offend or get into a discussion about it. No biggie really. As usual I do have some cravings but have been pretty mellow, it has been over a decade since I went to a meeting. Sometimes I think that my life is too orderly for me to really have a good relapse, just dealing with my wife alone would be such a pain in the ass. I am not sure how I would do alone. As is often the case around the holidays I can not help but reflect on the addicts in my life who still suffer and those who are no longer with us. I hope that all of us that are sober and those who are not survive and thrive in the new year. Here's is to a year without any use related deaths in the 12oz user group.

A great book. The John Wayne version is good, I have been contemplating a rewatch of both and maybe a re-read also. I wonder if there is a good reading of it for audiobook.
