  1. BIAFRA CBS 4DK DAESK MPLS ROYALTY SIAMESE FAW ATKM FOCUS/AMP ABOUT THIS LIFE GRAFFITI VACATION!!!! http://vimeo.com/83355665
  2. Most of the work is done by locals so far, but we are trying to turn it into a midwest graffiti vacation spot. That is why I made this thread- to try and get out of state heads interested in coming to paint. Last weekend we had Daesk and Biafra out from Minneapolis along with a film crew. They had a blast. Their hotel stay was given to them free of charge by a hotel directly attached to the alley, and we supplemented their paint. We're pretty good hosts out here as long as you're not a dick. We're trying to get a midwest graffiti jam going out here next year with the help of some friends in the bigger surrounding cities (Denver, Minneapolis, Kansas City, Chicago). As for Sturgis, it's about half an hour away. We couldn't score you free rooms during that time of year because everything is packed during that time, but that's how we met Chicago O.G. Fess this year. He stumbled upon Art Alley on the way out of town after Sturgis. He'll be back next year too. And if you've seen a picture of Rushmore, it's not much different looking at the real thing. It is one big ass piece of graffiti tho. [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
  3. "Nobody" speaks for everybody. The internet doesn't have a dictator yet. Only a bunch of cats and bad spelling. You adapt your game to the city you live in. Although almost every artist shown in this thread has done non-legals at some, or many points, the reality is that you're not going to get very far bombing in a place with a population of 75,000. This isn't a major metro city. You're also likely to get heated up pretty quick, and so you adapt. We have a resource here in the heart of our downtown that increases our quality of life. Working with what we have, we are able to make extra income off of commissioned murals, art shows, community projects, etc. We have started a mural funding program, so that we don't even have to pay for our paint. Since July, we've gone through over $4000 in materials, wholesale through Art Primo. Painting legals got me out of working 12 hour days at a mine. I work for the Arts Council now, setting up skateboard and kidrobot art shows, doing blackbook sessions, arranging public murals, and hosting out of town artists when they come to paint. We have three coming from Minneapolis at the end of this week. It's a dream job, and at the end of the night I get to go home to my wife and kids rather than being stuck in county with a bunch of assholes. I was even able to get one of our writers a 12 day leave from county to participate in an art exhibit. I will always have the upmost respect for the writers out there taking chances, and sticking with traditional graffiti. That's the essence of the game. It just isn't a sensible option for us out here though. If legals aren't your thing, this thread isn't for you. My city gives a fuck about legal walls. [/img]

  7. [/img] ^^That's Art Alley. The other place was Harley Davidson. [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
  8. [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] Pine Ridge Reservation. The poorest place in the country. [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] ART ALLEY- Rapid City. 1 city block long in the heart of downtown. No rules. No permits. Tens of thousands of tourists come through this alley every year. An average of 8 thousand locals visit it every Thursday night for Summer Nights festivals. Come paint. The locals are friendly as long as you show us respect.
  9. http://www.rapidcityjournal.com/news/article_356a5758-8f30-11e0-b2ca-001cc4c03286.html ...it aint selling out if you give it all away..
  10. Word, I'm glad. I hope you're reaching out to them as a family. Regardless of wether they were in the danger zone, I imagine the mental impact of having their country devastated like that has to hurt them greatly. Hopefully you guys are pulling together to do some benefit work for them. Might be a great time to bring them here for a show or something. My heart goes out to them.
  11. Anybody know if Kress and Wanto are alright?
  12. Don't feed Internet trolls. They get onto the computer and leave shitty comments about everything. Trying to talk sense to them just gets them excited cuz they got a rise out of you. They aren't leaving comments because they feel morally superior. They're on there cuz they have shitty lives and are chickenshit so they talk like that to get into Internet fights with common sense people. Ignore them and they'll go back to fingering their ass or crying into a bucket of ice cream. Fight with them and they'll just get off on it. Somebody post some new Retna!
  13. Thanks. There's still a rooftop going south on I-5 that says "God bless this man.. Rest in power Kerse" on it. The buff is strong right now. I came thru a couple years back and there were a gang of freeway spots. Now, almost nothing. You guys must've got a new police chief. Lol. I'll quit jabbering and post some flicks in a bit.
  14. I'm up from Rapid City for the week and looking for supplies. Art Primo has bunk hours. Who else sells caps? Big ups Zeb, Heck, Aerub. Some choice spots. Rip-Kerse. Didn't even know till I saw it on a rooftop from the freeway.
  15. Kota- Font Alchemists/Word Traffickers/Never falling FAWTNFinity Partially buffed.. Thanks to the peoples out there checking this thread. South Dakota isn't the first place you think to go looking for quality shit, but we hope you like some of what you see. PS- ABN, if you're out there, eat your own sad little dick. Crossing peoples out in a LEGAL alley is as weak as it gets. I dare you to get just one of my heat spots. Come out and play geek.
