  1. Yes, clearly the issues have different levels of severity. Look what happened though, they went from a temp ban, to an all out ban, then they expanded the ban to beyond beaches. Now police are walking around harassing people to comply with the law (which is their job). But out of emotion it went from a possibly good idea to something that could hurt the economy to an all out police state. This is what will happen with gun bans, out of emotion a possible solution will expand and move on until all weapons and levels of ammunition will eventually be banned. Gun businesses in NY for example are now facing a tax on selling any ammunition that isn't in bulk, this will affect their business and perhaps force gun shops to close due to the inability to sustain a profit. Soon you won't be able to purchase ammo at all, and it will disarm the populace outright. Meanwhile the government is buying ammunition in bulk for all departments, the DHS has purchased billions of rounds in ammunition in recent years and the public has no issue with this at all. Very hypocritical. I suggest reading The Tyranny of Good Intentions by Paul Craig Roberts, very good read.
  2. Right. Why is this place starting to bum you out? I post on Reddit, this forum, and of course on Facebook, and out of all of these places this forum is the best place for open discussion, at least without certain people who in the last few pages haven't made there appearance. So the discussion stays civil, even if there are disagreements. Those other venues are heavily biased, and you get down voted or ganged up on, without even logic taken into account. I'll be on this forum until it's down, or I don't have access to the internet. Just wish this annoying logout/login bug would get fixed. C'mon Raven.
  3. This is a good point, and it should strike Republicans at their core. However just because you are a conservative (very vague term) or someone who is perhaps someone who believes in the Constitution, doesn't mean you are a member of this very hypocritical party. I am not, and I'm sure a lot of people who defend their right's aren't either. I'm not sure if that story that BOATS N HOES posted is true or just some sort of analogy, however I agree 100% with the point made. Give an inch, take a mile.
  4. I've seen enough stories from soldiers to know that orders come down, and after the fact because of those orders given, innocent people paid the ultimate price. Not only did those people suffer, and there families, but the soldiers who followed said orders were traumatized as well, and will most likely never be the same. I agree 100% about Oathkeepers.
  5. The point here is what happens when they put the uniform on, put the badge on, whatever. They have a job to do, and the job has a boss, and that boss has his own, and they give orders, and if you don't follow those orders you are subject to punishment, possible loss of job. So those orders are usually followed, regardless to the consequence. At the end of the day, who do they work for? Me? The guy who's got a foot on my neck or a gun pointed at me? No. Not me at all. (Please don't be offended as if I think every cop, or member of the military is a bad guy, I know cops, I know people in the military, at least when they aren't working I can't be there when they are. They are really nice people.)
  6. lol. I agree with all of this, but you have to admit, he did a great job with the Seahawks this year.
  7. I'm sorry I thought you were going to spin off of what I said about them working for the people, which they don't they work for the government. Either Federal, State or City level. I'm not denying that members of government are citizens. Just pointing out the logic in your statement. And Shai he meant citizen. At least, I think.
  8. He's fast, and him and Brady got the timing down pat(no pun intended). NFL games are great this weekend but there have been a lot of good games in recent years.
  9. Yeah they are, but they don't work for civilians. Which is the entire point. I already see the spin coming, but spin away.
  10. Ya I'm feelin that new throw, unless it isn't new at all, and just to me. One of the best threads on here. Distort too, always comes correct.
  11. Since we are trying to entertain Incognito here's my favorite bear arm's meme.
  12. I agree mass shootings of any kind are disturbing. And before 1982 they were very rare. Since 1982 there has been at least one almost every year, and they just get worse and worse. My question is, what happened? Why 1982? Personally I don't blame video games, music or movies. I watch violent movies, listen to violent music and have played violent video games for hours on end, and will never be inspired to walk into a public place and randomly shoot at people. The media has to take a portion of blame for the sensationalist reactions, and the 24/7 news coverage, which to anyone should be obvious in inspiring copy cat(s). I will just repeat what was said by Ben Swann in that youtube video, it's the heart of the man or women, not the gun. I don't get how this is a "straw man" though. Piers and countless other media outlets around the country are spinning lies to bend peoples emotions, make things out to seem worse than they are, and to surrender the last line of defense when it comes to tyranny from local and federal authority. I can't blame an inanimate object for killing anything, so to answer your question yes. Is it the car or the drunk driver? And just to end on the mass murder point, governments all over the world have committed more mass murders than any individual. The gif posted above with a dog chasing it's tail is exactly what this is, I am truly sorry that you don't see things from my perspective, clearly this debate on this forum will do nothing to change public opinion or stop the legislation that I know is coming regardless of how stupid I think it is. I just hope that I never have to say "I told you so".

  16. Remove the .223's and the weapon of choice will just change. Alex Jones to me, as I said when I saw that video makes me, think, laugh and shake my head all at the same time. I think he brings up some excellent points, but comes off as a raving lunatic so most people will dismiss most if not all of the good points he brings to the table, and Piers in that interview try's to discredit his argument even further by bringing up Alex's views on 9/11. Which honestly have nothing to do with said issue. I do believe Alex is on to something when he talks about Rx pills. They are a true epidemic. Almost everyone I know including myself has been effected by this issue. They destroy families, they destroy minds, and even as advertised can cause people to commit harm to themselves and to others. This isn't addressed at all, and I can pull up links that show the majority of these mass shootings the killer(s) involved were all prescribed one or more of these "medications". Personally, I align myself with Alex on most of these issue's, call me nut's hate me as you hate him, it's the internet and who the fuck cares. We live in a increasingly chaotic world, and I'm not talking about human nature, I'm talking about corruption, and the breaking down of society, look at the U.S. financial situation, in 2008 how close were we to a true break down of services? Even the most liberal person has to admit a bullet was dodged there. However that issue hasn't even been solved. Another financial crisis is on the horizon, when it will come to fruition is just a matter of time. When society (America) get's to this point what will happen? Honestly I can't answer that, but I can say this, I live in NYC and if things were to get that out of hand, millions of people will panic. And I for one would like something other than a hand gun to protect myself and those I love from the possible results of this panic. I just dealt with a massive tragedy of my own. I live in an area that was affected by Hurricane Sandy, my parents lost their home, I've seen how slow the authority figures are to respond and how truly on your own you really are when the shit hit's the fan. I survived that Monday night into Tuesday, I was lucky, other's weren't. I only have my own naivety to blame, and I know this. I would go into further details but I think my point was made. I will not rely on a response time from anyone to protect myself and my family, and unfortunately these weapons are available, and as I said in another thread, apart from hurling all of these semi auto's and military grade weapons into the sun, people can and will obtain them. I think you can see where I am going with this, and in my opinion the only way to combat something of that caliber is to level the playing field. Personally I would like to see training available to the public who would like to be able to handle such weapons in a responsible and respectful manner. No gun enthusiast (who isn't a sociopath) likes to see children hurt, but when I saw Obama shed his "tears" I could only try to stop myself from laughing, I doubt he cried when he received reports of innocent children that were killed in the numerous bombings and drone attacks over sea's. If he cares so much about children why doesn't he out law these types of attacks. Our American children really that much more important than Pakistani children? Or Palestinian children, or Afghan children? Get the point. To me this is just an attempt to further take away America's rights, the people who are in a position of Authority aren't stupid, they know if the financial situation does take a turn for the worse, gaining control of the populace will be a pretty hard thing to do. Handling a situation poorly could result in wide spread riots, and civil unrest, then what happens? Call it paranoia call it what you like, these are the unfortunate realities of the world we live in today. I would like to err on the side of what I can do to protect me the ones I love. Their are tons of grammatical errors in here, I don't care enough to fix them, if you think that makes me an idiot or my opinion irrelevant fine, good for you.
  17. Always been one of my favorite outlines.
  18. Just another reason on top of other reasons that have occurred during this election process. The market isn't free either, but you are right the majority did vote for Romney. As far as changing the culture of the Republican party, it has changed a few times since the birth of the United States, why not change it again? I also think it has, your just going to have to wait another 10-20 years before you see it, because the people mostly that shifted to the Libertarian line of thought are pretty much mostly younger Americans, and they are still in school, or just getting out.
  19. You got me there thug life. But the question still stands.
  20. How do you get down with Xbm? You got to steal someone else's name first?
  21. He briefly touched on why Ron Paul won't endorse Romney. The video is long so I doubt you'd listen to the entire thing for a small soundbite. Ron Paul won't win the nomination but denying the change that he has sparked within the party is par for the course for in here, what else is new. Keep trolling. Keeps the discussion alive. And Spambot I get it.
