yeah, its taken, and he has more style than a lot of folks this site (myself included) can fathom. hollywood sign. dcstylez. im not very good, but ill help you with what i can. you need to go simple. a hot simple can burn so much, but its hard to do because without doodads and frills, all the flaws will show through. when you have a strong simple you have a strong grasp on letter structure

thats as simple as can be, look at fonts and cereal boxes for simple. what you posted is not as simple as can be. do not even try to add style to your letters yet, just write them. dont even try to make them look like graffiti. also, listen to everything the leader says, he is likely the best hope anyone in this thread has, and the advice he gives to others probably applies to you too

exso, two words, go simple. the key to writing letters well is, well, letter structure, and solid structure at that. dont try to force the style, itll come in time. and remember to keep old sketches so you can look back on them and be embarassed

of course hes serious, if you dont know that arrows are the main element of graffiti, you might not want to continue

freakeenyc, what you need to work on is getting down solid simple letters, dont really start adding style and flair to letters untill you can draw them well without adding style

faze, thank you for that last "nine" sketch, that is what you want to do, now you need to do stuff like that, maybe without the fontlike flares at the ends of bars on the letter, hundreds and hundreds of times. phameousone, your stuff looks good at a glance, but if you take any time to look at it, it becomes clear that your letter structure is seriously lacking. runci, it looks like in your recent sketches youve been getting just a little ahead of yourself. definately keep up the work though. listen to every piece of advice you get, no matter who its from, and try what they say. worst thing that could happen is youll spend a few minutes learning a solid lesson in what doesnt work.

you dont even need to open photoshop for resizing, if you dont need to maintain great photo quality, you can go into ms paint and go to view, then stretch/skew

like ive said, for serious progression it might get boring. look at cereal boxes and advertisements for examples of straight letters dkab said it, the letter structure is just lacking.
