I remember going to Wallenberg in '95 to skate those picnic tables, and being really surprised how much smaller they were in real life. Then I skated around to the front, and was really surprised how much bigger the Big 3 were in real life.

If you go to Tompkins Square Park in the East Village, there's a a basketball court that people have set up some small ramps and flatbars and shit in. If you go there, you are guaranteed to find people who can point you to some spots. Also, the entire Wall Street area (just south of the Brooklyn Banks) is made of marble ledges.

I lurked for a solid two years before I registered. Then I registered, came on here daily, and posted about once or twice a week for a year, until I sort of figured out how things work around here. Once I got going, I started to post a lot, but I've slowed back down in the past six to twelve months.

It is tough to find a decent, portable, battery- operated turntable for under a hundred bucks. Once in a great while, you'll score something from a thriftshop. Otherwise, the Handy Trax is not a bad way to go. The Numark is generally a little cheaper though (Amazon has it for $80), and it actually has a lot of better features on it. As fun as they look, those Vinyl Killer vans are called that for good reason-- they fuck your records up pretty quickly. Most stores/dealers would throw you out if they saw you using one. I don't think they're much cheaper than a turntable anyway.

I just started reorganizing my collection. I'm at work right now, but I'll flick some favorites some time this week.

EMO, those are fucking superfresh. And yeah, I think everyone's been busy lately, but it would be cool to do some more assignments. We may have gotten too advanced too quickly... maybe we need something a little more casual.

An entertaining video I thought you guys might like... a bike fitted within a larger wheel for rollovers. The first two minutes are loud and kind of boring, but skip to the last minute and it's good.
