  1. They are all good in the color department. But, the bad part is if your not willing to get a case. then you can only get Violet, Red, and black in single bottles. It is a pain to order Garvey. But, they take money orders and you don't need to go to ebay. you simply call or write them and tell them what you want. then they will give you a price for the ink and the shipping and then you type out what you want with the exact price they gave you. You send them your money order and when they get it they will send you the ink. You can even call them to find out if they got your payment. Being I get so much off them. I have an account with them...I gave them the impression that I have a company and I gave them a fake name to my company. So, when it comes from UPS, my fake company name is on the address label...Lol BUT, IF YOU ARE GOING TO GET IT. STICK WITH THE VIOLET. THE COLOR IS SUPER AND IT HAS SERIOUS GHOSTING POWER.
  2. Yes, I love Garvey...and people who have it love it too. That is because, it is simply the best ink for any marker. It is the best price and I will continue to push it. Because, I am an old skooler and I hate to see others waste their time and money on inferior products. If you ever get your hands on Garvey...you are going to say "I see what Omen means and I don't blame him for trying to see other writers get the best ink." So, don't sweat what I am doing...I am providing a service to any up coming writer that needs a little guidance in this department. I have 25 years of New York City bombing under my belt and I won't steer you wrong. I don't know everything. But, I know about this.
  3. Why not get it at urban designz? If it is under 17 bucks for a pint....then it is the dye type. The paint type is always over 20 bucks a can and if if does not have that white shake well sticker around the can it is the dye type. You can call call masrh company at 618-343-1006
  4. 3 ways to tell....the price for the paint marsh is more than the dye type, you have that white lable that says shake well and it does not say dye type ink on the paint ink container
  5. Why spend over ten bucks on nero for such a small amount, when you can get more than twice as much garvey for 15 bucks....even the black garvey stains better than nero...but the violet is the jiont...all of the garvey colors do serious ghoasting....you get twice as much for just a few bucks more. The best thing about it is you don't have to mix anything to it...it is so good, you can use it as is and not waste time or money with other needless things. Wise up and save money and get the best ink:cool:
  6. I won't lie....it looks ok....but it ain't all that. I guess if that is what you got to work with, it will do the job I.....I noticed that one of your tags spread out...that is typical for leather dye or whatever that was. I guess if you can't get garvey....what you got will do. But, it is still cheaper, less time consuming and better to get garvey...nothing beats it...for 15 bucks a pint you can't go wrong...just juice up your mop with the king of inks and get up. It does not get much easier than that....nothing you can make will be better than garvey, and if it is better....it won't be better by much. But, I respect what you are doing.
  7. IT SAYS IT ON THE CAN...CLICK ON THE LINK BELOW AND AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE IS THE PAINT TYPE AND SCROLL UP A LITTLE AND YOU WILL SEE THE DYE TYPE...THE PAINT COST MORE, THE PAINT IS LIKE 22 BUCKS AND THE DYE IS LIKE 15 BUCKS. http://urbandesignz.safeshopper.com/2/cat2.htm?241
  8. WHY WASTE TIME MIXING POWDERS OR MIXING THIS OR THAT? IT JUST DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. BECAUSE NO MATTER WHAT YOU MIX UP, YOU WON'T GET A BETTER PRODUCT THAN VIOLET GARVEY...IT IS CHEAPER THAN MOST INKS ($15.99 FOR A PINT). IT STAINS LIKE A MOTHERFUCKER, IT DRIPS LIKE A MOTHERFUCKER (IF YOU LIKE DRIPS) IT HAS A GREAT ELECTRIC DEEP PURPLE LOOK. YOU CAN'T BUFF IT ON MOST SURFACES AND IT IS A BITCH TO EVEN GET OFF GLASS AND METALS. SO, INSTEAD OF SPENDING MORE MONEY ON THIS AND THAT AND HOPE YOU COME OUT WITH SOMETHING BETTER THAN GARVEY. JUST GET GARVEY, THAT WAY YOU DON'T WASTE TIME, MONEY AND MAKE A MESS FOR INK THAT WILL NOT BE AS GOOD AS GARVEY. ASK ANYONE WHO USES GARVEY AND THEY WILL TELL YOU IT IS THE INK OF INKS! I AM SORRY FOR PREACHING ABOUT IT SO MUCH...I JUST HATE TO SEE PEOPLE WASTE THEIR TIME AND MONEY ON BULLSHIT!
  9. Different names on ultra/miniwides (stickers)...showing that it comes from different distro compinies. http://www.fourthehardway.com/images/mini_wide_m.jpg'> http://a248.e.akamai.net/f/248/5462/2h/urbandesignz.safeshopper.com/images/bv0watxi.jpg'> Note; The ultrawides do not have the soft old school nibs. they come with those stiff white nibs at urban designs. Below is a good site to get your O.T.R flow pens, etc; ON THE RUN MARKERS....BEST SITE FOR THE BEST PRICES ON OTR MARKERS UP ON THE LEFT OF THE HOME PAGE CLICK ON LCP WAREHOUSE AND CHOOSE MARKERS AND INKS AND CLICK ON...OTR MARKERS. THEY ALSO SELL OTHER COOL STUFF. THEY HAVE GOOD PRICES... I BOUGHT EVERY OTR MARKER THEY HAVE....AND A FEW EXTRA OF THE GOOD COLORS. IF YOU NOTICE THEY ONLY CHARGE $3.50 FOR THEIR MINI FLOW OR PAINT MARKERS. URBAN DESIGNZ RIPS YOU OFF BY CHARGING $5.95 FOR THEIR MINI FLOW PENS OR MINI PAINT MARKRES...THAT IS ALMOST 6 FUCKING BUCKS FOR A MINI OTR...WHAT A SCAM....STICK WITH LIQUIDCRACK FOR YOUR OTR PENS
  10. Just buy Garvey....don't waste your time with bullshit. GARVEY INK CLICK HER...THE ANSEWR TO EVERYTHING!!
  11. They were not made in the USA, they are made in china and were sold through American companies...I took off all those stickers that are on my minis with lighter fluid...I prefer them without those tacky stickers. When, I was getting them 20 years ago...they never had those stickers. I think they were distributed through a few American companies. They still produce ultrawides because the machine that makes them still works and they get distributed to all different companies...they ultras shell even come in blue, black, green, white and of course gray now. They are sold by urban designz and have a sticker that says City Wide on them...they also sell minis and ultras at 4 THE HARD WAY and it has a sticker that says THE VAPORS PROJECT on them...So, they definitely come from Asia and different American companies distro them.
  12. The new stiff ones are very easy to soften up and have ink flow through them, like the old skool ones...like I said, use the needle that is used for injecting ink for printer ink, put your nib in the mini and start jabbing the top of the nib with the needle...keep the syringe part on so it acts like a handle for the needle.....in a short while, it will be just like the old skool ones.
  13. Ultras are a little too wide....But, I can use them, I just need large areas to use them....But, the miniwide is the best marker ever made....I have been using them since the 70's, So, I can really write well with them...my handstlye flows well. As far as messing up the tips...you carry more than one type of marker for different surfaces....miniwides worked very well on the insides of subway cars....But, I will was always a mop fiend....I like fat drippy tags. But, miniwides are the joint. I would not recommend them for inexperienced writers or toys or people with awkward hand styles
  14. They sell the replacement nibs at art primo...they cost a $1.49 each, they don't have them on their web page...you simply have to call them and place the order....They hooked me up with the old skool ones because I spend a lot of money with them and I am cool with them...they most likely won't sell you the original ones...they only have the new ones. They just did me that favor. But, with the new kind you can soften them up by taking a somewhat large hypodermic needle and start stabbing it on the top of the nib once it is in the mini....you just keep stabbing it and it will be just like the old ones...you have to stab it from the top of the nib though. They are holding about 10 more mini wides for me...I wrote them this weekend.....I might sell them on ebay for a starting price at 10 bucks. I think that is a fair price....I will wait till there is no more around.
  15. To be honest....I prefer the dye type ink. Because, it is thinner and more drippy....But the paint type ink will last for years if you tag outside with it...it won't fade for shit....it does drip....just not as runny as the dye type.
  16. I got the white opaque (paint type) and the black dye type from urban designz. I ordered the quart of black paint type ink by phone from the marsh shipping supply corp....urban designz does not sell quarts. I also got that all metal marsh marking pen...I loaded it with garvey. It has a valve type nib. It is perfect for doing stickers and small tags. I got my O.T.R markers from Liquid Crack and the minis from art primo of course. The ultrawides I got from urban designz. The replacement nibs came from art primo. I called them and they sold me the original nibs that come with the minis. They pulled them out and put in the new type nibs and sold me the old skool ones.
  17. I HAVE 2 CASES OF VIOLET, 16 ONCE BOTTLES (24 BOTTLES). I HAVE 1 CASE OF BLUE, 16 ONCE BOTTLES. I HAVE FIVE 16 ONCE BOTTLES OF RED AND FIVE 16 OUNCE BOTTLES OF BLACK. I QUART OF BLACK OPAQUE MARSH AND A PINT OF WHITE OPAQUE MARSH AND ABOUT 5 PINTS OF BLACK MARSH DYE TYPE INK. NOT TO MENTION TWO 32 OUNCE BOTTLES KRINK IT WAS NOT CHEAP...BUT IT MAKES ME HAPPY. PLUS, I HAVE ABOUT 40 O.T.R PAINT/FLOW PENS...EVERY COLOR, MINI AND LARGE. I HAVE 16 MINIWIDES, 5 ULTRAWIDES, 20 EXTRA MINI NIBS AND 5 ULTRAWIDE NIBS. I ALSO HAVE ALOT OF ERASERS AND EMPTY ARRID XX ROLL ON CONTAINERS...AND A BUNCH OF MISCELLANEOUS OTHER STUFF, GLOVES, SYRINGES. TAPE, YOU NAME IT.
  18. Re: Re: InK~> I have been doing this since 1979 and you are so lucky to get your hands on Garvey. When I was growing up. We did not have the net. But, we did have a graff store that sold everything a writer could dream of. The only thing they did not sell is Garvey. Garvey is mostly sold to industrial companies and major supermarkets. So, the only ink they had was pints and 4oz containers of Flomaster and Marsh. They had the dye type ink and the opaque and they had every color you could dream of. Getting Garvey back in the 70's, 80's and 90's was a real find and you did not need to mess with it, because it is so good. There is not much more you can do to improve it. I would hate to hear about anyone mixing something in Garvey thinking they will improve it. You could really fuck up the balance of the original components of the ink. So, for your own good you do not need to put a darn thing in violet Garvey. You will spoil the way it flows, the way it looks and you could make it less permanent. When I was growing up...we never bothered trying to enhance ink. Because, there was nothing that needed to be done to it. We just put it in our mops/markers and got up. If you want ink that will stay up year round, use opaque marsh. I have a tag I put on a lamp post with orange marsh opaque 18 years ago and it looks like I put it up last month. It was never buffed and it has seen the cold, the rain, the frost, the snow, the heat...year after year after year and it still standing strong. You know that Garvey is not easy to get unless you have a major credit card. I have a credit card and I have so much of it, that it will last me a lifetime. The reason I got so much is because, I fear one day they might stop producing it. The reason for this is because it is old fashion. They have newer products that people are using and they don't use straight up Garvey like they used too. So, take care of what little you have and stock up on it as much as you can and don't fuck with it...Because, it is not needed. We only mixed up ink to get fresh colors...like white marsh with purple ink or red or blue or green, etc; Use common sense. I can almost promise you that if you add some leather dye to it, it won't do anything but mess up the shine, the flow and the look of that electric purple color violet garvey gives. But, if you are that hell bent take just a small amount of garvey and add your leather dye and draw a line with it and take straight garvey and draw a line and try to buff both lines at the same time. Try it on metal, glass, and anything else you can think of and you will realize that they will be both hard to buff. But, the Garvey will look better with nothing else added. I would not lie to you. Otherwise, I would not have wasted my time writing this. If you think you are making it better....then it is an illiusion because you want it to work...But, it does nothing for it RTW ROC TVS.
  19. WELL, I WILL TELL YOU THIS....USING FELT STRIPS FOLDED IN HALF THEN STUCK INTO A CONTAINER IS THE BEST WAY TO MAKE A MARKER....SURE I USE ALL TYPES OF MARKERS BUT FOR FOR THE LAST 25 YEARS MY MARKER OF CHOICE IS A HOMEMADE JAMMIE WITH A FELT STRIP ERASER FOR THE NIB. THEY WRITE ON ANYTHING, THEY DON'T COME OUT BECAUSE THEY ARE WEDGED IN THE OPENING OF YOUR CONTAINER. THEY LAST FOREVER, AND THE ABSORB LIKE A SPONGE. THEY MAKE THE BEST DRIPS AND YOU CAN GET THE ERASERS I POSTED ABOVE FOR A BUCK TWENTY, THAT WILL GIVE YOU 6 STRIPS....MAKING YOU HAVE SIX NIBS OR YOU CAN MAKE SIX MOPS....THEY CHARGE LIKE 2 BUCKS FOR ONE OTR NIB AND THOSE SUCK COMPARED TO A FELT/WOOL ERASER NIB. YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH THEM...YOU JUST HAVE TO USE THE RIGHT CONTAINER....EVEN THOUGH I DO USED THEM ON THE SHOE POLISH CONTAINERS....INSTEAD OF THOSE BULLSHIT FOAM RUBBER ONES...JUST MAKE SURE YOU USE GOOD INK AND YOU ARE READY TO BOMB WITH FAT DRIPPY MOPS. IN FACT, I USED TO BOMB USING A PINT OF MARSH OR A PINT OF GARVEY, WITH AN ERASER FOLDED IN HALF THEN SHOVED IN THE OPENING OF THE INK CONTAINER. THAT WAS WHEN I WAS BOMBING THE INSIDES AT THE YARDS....I USED TO BE ABLE TO PUT UP SO MANY FAT DRIPPY TAGS....YOU COULD NOT COUNT THEM ALL....I WENT FROM CAR TO CAR WITH MY TAG AT LEAST 25 TIMES IN EACH CAR. IT WAS SO FAT AND DRIPPY THAT IT STOOD OUT MORE THAN ANYONE ELSE'S TAGS. I WAS ALWAYS A MOP KING....A DRIP MASTER, THAT MOSTLY DID THE INSIDES. RTW ROC TVS.:king:
  20. Let me know how it came out....I have ALOT of Garvey. But, to me it is just right....I would not want to mess up even an ounce of it....it sounds like it could work but I would not want to risk wasting it...It is so permanent already that I could not see making it even more permanent. The color is just right, the ink is just right, it flows through any nib and it drips like a mother fucker. I wish I had this much when I was bombing the trains and the city. Now, I use it to catch a few tags when I can get away with it. I have tags up and down the upper east side of Manhattan and the west side as well...places where they don't get buffed or can't get buffed.
  21. IT SEEMS ALOT OF YOU DUDES ARE SPENDING OR WASTING MORE TIME MESSING WITH INK....WHEN YOU SHOULD JUST GET GOOD INK AND GO OUT AND BOMB AND PRACTICE YOUR HANDSTYLE. I KNOW WORKING WITH DIFFERENT INKS AND MIXING UP SHIT GIVES YOU SOMETHING TO DO. JUST GET A GOOD MARKER OR MAKE A GOOD MOP AND GET SOME GOOD INK LIKE MARSH OR GARVEY OR WHATEVER AND BOMB. YOUR SHIT IS GOING TO GET BUFFED NO MATTER WHAT YOU USE....IF THEY ARE ON A MISSION TO BUFF YOUR SHIT, YOU CAN BANK ON IT BEING BUFFED....WEATHER THEY PAINT OVER IT WITH ENAMEL OR USE A PRIMER FIRST THEN USE ENAMEL OR THEY USE A SAND BLASTER....IT IS GOING TO GET BUFFED. THERE IS NOT MUCH MORE YOU CAN DO TO INK THAT IS GOOD IN THE FIRST PLACE. IF IT IS PERMANENT AND IT DRIPS AND STAINS, THEN YOU ARE IN BUSINESS....OR JUST USE SPRAY PAINT TO GET UP. THAT WAY YOU WILL GET UP MORE, INSTEAD OF STAYING HOME MAKING A MESS. THAT IS HOW I SEE IT. BUT, IF THAT IS YOUR THING....ENJOY:cool:
  22. This is so easy to understand....if your folded eraser is not wide enough to be snug in your ban container....take another strip and put that extra strip in between the folded eraser strip, this will make the folded eraser strip wider and make it fit more snug in the ban container. That way when you put the folded eraser with the extra strip in between the fold into your container...it will be more snug and ink WILL NOT leak out the sides. Also, when you use the mob when it is flooded hold it kind of upright when you tag...this will surely prevent any excess ink from flowing out....I like miniwides and flow pens...But, a good ban roll on mop is the best for destroying shit, it has a screw on cap and there is nothing you can compare it to....NOTHING!.
  23. Just order a bottle of violet Garvey and unscrew yout pilot and fill it up. Garvey is the answer to everything. If you can't gey Garvey, get Marsh, Nero, OTR Hard To Buff or Pilot 1 oz refills (black only) That is your best bet....that way you don't waste time making a mess or "try" to make something that the chemists have been making for over 30 years.....and get the idea it is better than anything in the world.
  24. You are doing it wrong....the eraser has to be snug. It is folded in half and you make it snug...it is very simple....if the hole to the container is too wide for the folded eraser, all you have to do is take another strip and put it in between the fold, this makes the fold wider then you shove it in the opening of the container...I have been making them that way for 25 years, and they are the best, they are fat and drippy and if you do it right it will not flow out the sides at all. There is an old trick I use in case some might leak out. you take a sock and wrap it around the ban roll on container twice and cut it, then you take black tape and wrap the tape around the sock neatly and not extreamly tight either, that way the sock will catch any ink that might leak out, it won't be messy because the ink will be absorbed by the sock and the sock is in between the tape and the container ....I used to bomb with the drippiest mops and not one drop would get on my hands...all you need is common sense and the right stuff and know how. Also try not to use kiwi bottles, they suck...you have to get the type of roll on container I was talking about, there is more depth to the opening making it hold the eraser much better.
  25. Make A Real New York Style Mop Get the type of roll on container that has the ring that holds the ball. pop off the ring and the ball will come off too...you can't just use any roll on container....25 years ago, when I started making them, roll on containers were all glass and the ball was held on with a plastic ring that fit at the top of the container....now everything is plastic so most of them do not have that detachable ring....except the Arrid xx, it is a blue container. So, after you take the ring and the ball off...pour out the deodorant rinse the container and dry it well. Get a chalk board eraser and tear off a strip of the felt, most erasers have 6 strips. Take the strip and fold it in half and put it in where the ball used to be...put it in after you fill your container up with real ink, not griffin but Marsh or Garvey, etc.; fill it a little more than 2 thirds, that way your ink will not flood out when you are putting in your eraser. The wider eraser the better. Below is the best eraser for making mops. The first one is good for fat mops and the second one is good for regular size mops, it is also good for griffin containers, take off that bull shit foam rubber nib and fold an eraser strip in half and put it in where the nib goes. http://image.misterart.com/grouppix/528x352/7000/g7898.jpg'> http://image.misterart.com/grouppix/528x352/2000/g2500.jpg'>
