  1. heres another fish from me this one was comissioned,18x36 acrylic on stretched canvas. be hiphop:the painting looks nice good colors and blending if i could point out anything wrong i'd say her neck is a bit to long and the way the facing shoulder hangs it doesnt look cylindrical kinda lays flat like a strip of paper easily fixable though. lando's stuff is looking good especialy the self portrait and mr T.
  2. i dont know what the hell happened there with the triple post? if a mod wants to delete 2 that'd be good. thats not a koi its an oscar but i guess they dont look that different from that angle

  6. been a few pages since i've said anything mwm's stuff is refreshing to see on here the pattern work is looking good the other stuff on the site as well. justone the supes looks nice just a few bits seem off the right hand (his left) seems to be in perspective too much it doesnt seem like all his fingers should be visible with the arm in that position and i dont know if its supposed to be all battle torn or not but his cape looks more like spawns cape then his. the colors on that veto piece are working good not too bad for a graff canvas. that dead mouse is nonsense...
  7. yeah nice stuff oneeightyone angel wings are addicting huh?as for your first attempt at watercolor its not all that bad you got the soft delicate thing going which is a great way to use that paint . just watch out for back runs
  8. for real those are nice. do those first 2 link up when you switch em around too?
  9. ok i shifted shit up a bit on this one, the recent discussion got me interested in trying this style so heres my attempt.and with this attempt i've come to the conclusion... its not that its easier its just less work. meaning all paintings are comprised of shapes just the style i usually do theres alot more shapes to paint,i went about this the same way as i do all my work so it didnt feel any different in terms of building up the backround to foreground if thats how you do it with stuff like this . i dont know if this looks like anything thats been done already i really dont know much about this style.i kinda like it. tell me what you's think i did wrong or right.
  10. yes dee38 all great stuff especialy the drawing.the one above reminds me of the backrounds to that old courage the cowardly dog show.
  11. i wasnt implying that a sketch was the same as a painting sorry if that came out wrong i was just trying an experiment and thats how it went. and though i do turn towards the more technical side of painting i understand that it doesnt make it worth more or better then ones that arent, that could go vice versa as well. i think that should be obvious to any artist. and as for my work i'll be the first to say its nothing new believe me i know im still trying to figure out where im going with this stuff.i didnt mean people chose what they do out of laziness but out of fear yeah. everything that can be done thats not completely outlandish has been done its just your style that seperates it from the rest whatever type of art you like.i've only been seriously painting for 4 or 5 years now coming from a graff backround so i still got that ''make it big loud and colorful'' attitude towards things, when i painted graff i swayed towards the tech side.maybe thats just what im about ,but im trying to see all sides of things, trying to understand stuff as of right now i dont like. as i come to understand them my views will probibly change a bit cause i know people who are honest about their art put just as much into it as i do.i think i will paint that sketch just to see how i feel about painting something like that maybe i'll be stoked on it.i've been burned out lately anyway so i'll shift it up a bit .i think we're all on the same page as far as our reasons for creating art just have different tastes its refreshing though. but yeah a whole page of discussion is worth more then ''yo i just slopped this together are my letters phat''
  12. nah that wasnt in response to anyone just my general opinion or view on the whole ''abstract expressionism'' subject thats been raised this last page.maybe its because over the last couple years i've chosen to learn more complex forms of painting (compared to what i was doing before anyway) that it seems easy to me?in fact just to see if i was putting my foot in my mouth i did a little sketch to see if it was hard now i dont know to what extent your talking about but all i did was take 2 shapes varying in size and arranged em in a rotating order made notes of where color and texture would be and it took me 3 minutes.im not trying to sound cocky, hell it might look like shit if i ever painted it but it didnt seem that hard maybe i myself am missing something. or maybe i have an understanding of it i dunno i might paint it up to see what you guys think.i know everyone on here aren't at the same level as eachother so i'll take that into consideration(from what i've seen on here i'd consider my self in the mid level as far as skill goes on here) maybe im better i cant judge that.... and yes the easiest moves are the hardest to master ...untill you learn the hard moves are harder...
  13. ''abstract expressionism'' is art thats made for yuppies... nah i dunno it does seem like an easy way out,to me anyway. it seems some people that wanna get into art and dont really know in which form yet could look at the works of i dunno lets just say michelangelo,el greco,n.c. wyeth, and frazetta and see everything going on in them and dont have any knowledge of painting yet could be intimidated pretty easy.then they see the works of lets just say picasso, mondrian, and pollack and they seem pretty confident that they could make art like that and since its accepted even embraced that it would be the perfect way of expressing themselves.now there might not seem like theres much wrong with this way of evaluating which way you wanna take your art but i think its a shame that people just bypass the ''genres'' of art that seem more difficult for whatever reasons (being in a rush to create, following a trend,or lack of dedication to discipline)and that if they would just take the time to learn they would see its not as impossible as it seems.it just seems like theres alot more art out there that doesnt seem to have alot of effort or forthought in it. im not accusing anyone on here of anything. as i stated before that im no expert and i myself have a ton to learn, you can never stop learning.i dont know if this rant means anything take it how you will.
  14. seeking the metal work is great even if it is just a simple first piece the texture is exactly what makes it of course. i think that goes for all minimalist nonrepresentive art if theres a lack of something you gotta make it interesting in another way if theres not much to look at make it evoke a feeling through the sense of touch.we only have 5 senses you gotta play up to one of em if you wanna have an impact on someone.and as far as it being hard i'd hate to say it but its not that hard if you have a knowledge of the basic elements of art and work with the contrasting shapes and colors, space and negative space complentary colors, line and what not you can create something good.i hate to break it down to a science like that but as long as you have a clear view on things you wont pull your hair out trying. now i dont wanna sound like a know it all (personaly i think i suck still and need to learn alot) as for the paintings by seeking and also mad cappa i know how much pictures dont show full detail so i cant say anything about em with full confidence but the white/olive one does look interesting ,the black and red one eh.the new one does seem incomplete as you have stated already i would agree with whoever said it about incorperating the black upper with the bottom thats how i see it anyway mad cappa yours looks good but i'd much rather feel the texture if i sound like im shitting on anyone im sorry. im sure your all your own harshest critic anyway though
  15. well as long as you dont mess with granite theres no need for pneumatic hammers and diamond cutters and all that other stuff i can get away with a good set of hand tools with all the other types of stone it'll just take forever to finish a piece but i'm gonna start off small anyway
  16. yeah i never even thought of clay i dont wanna work with anything you gotta put in an oven i was leaning more towards stone or wood carving metal work seems good to but there seems like theres alot involved im just trying to get something else going other then painting something you can walk around and get different views and shit work with texture you can feel all that good stuff.
  17. i actually like that splatter one by yahoo but only cause i see a skelton in there . those are some tight little drawings on them cans seeking,i'd be interested in seeing some of your welded sculpture i've been thinking bout getting into some sort of sculpture just not sure what medium.
  18. damn baboon i dont know how big those are but man you produce i like all of em except the top 2 in the right corner i think if your gonna do those type of characters you should use alot of color to kill the flatness which you do in all the other ones they're dope. the leader:that one made me chuckle (in a good way) behiphop:the kurt cobain one is painted nice i cant tell but are those song lyrics of his in the backround? if so that works well with the relaxed pose of him sorta poetic? i also like the tree one with the mosaic effect on the leaves....im actually working on a small mosiac right now i'll probibly post that up when its done
  19. i must say i have to agree with seeking graff canvases are played i dont know what i'll do if i see another splatter/drip backround. try some characters some animals shit even some pretty flowers just put some style and thought into it dont post stuff just for the sake of posting. anyway heres something new every once and awhile my shop gets a warped deck in and we dont have to send it back to get a new one so i paint it up to hang in there.
  20. yo whats up kids been awhile since i been on here theres some good lookin stuff going on baboon that dude with the vice is dope, geezpots little canvases as well that third canvas from elmo looks good too.i think it was seeking a few pages back asking for non graff work thats really all i do anymore so heres a couple i really had no idea what too paint so i just did a bali mask quick 2 color scheme 18x36 this one i tried that verdachio technique where you start off with a grayish green under painting and build up transparent colors on top then finish with opaque but i think i went over board and killed the whole effect i dunno i guess it looks ok 11x30
  21. aint been on here in awhile i see some issue's have been raised about graff on cavases and reasons for doing so and what not.since art is subjective and personal to the creator do whatever you feel thats the freedom of it all right?as long as your intentions are pure and you truly believe in what your doing then its all good.you wont please everyone but then again it shouldnt really be for anyone other then yourself.as for graff on canvas i think its good but it depends on how you go about doing it ,a little paintmarker peice on a 16x20 canvas is pretty pointless if you wanna do a couple for you or your friends ok but its not something to get serious about i think .graff is supposed to be large its supposed to catch your eye grab your attention even if your not looking at it .if you do it on a big canvas that would work.thats how i look at it anyway
  22. that crackwhore painting is def dope
