  1. i agree with you on getting the film developed for cheap. i am going to have to experiment - obviously - with it and figure out how i like to use it best. i will go to different places to get it developed to see how they come out vs. the cost.
  2. unsure of what to get i wound up getting a sony hsc h55. its more just a "regualr" sort of digital camera instead of an slr. i did get a holga 35mm as well though to play around with.
  3. there are a lot of goods bands in the triangle, and the state, right now. i am really digging it.
  4. i believe they do, as well as harris teeter which is where i found them. they are only available in july.
  5. no, you are helpig and i appreciate that. i know with the lomo diana one the of the problems is getting that film developed because it is 120 format. what are your thoughts on the yashica electro 35? that is the one i was looking at in particular. the one issue i have with these digital slr's is that i dont want it to go obsolete in a year because of the digi technology in it and amount of pixels. you say tho that there are more than enough so that is good to hear. i do want nice pictures, but also looking to do some photography with it of landscape, building exterior/interior, and all around just going out and snapping interesting shots.

Cameruhs. I am looking to purchase a nice, new camera but unfortunately am uniformed when it comes to the art and high end brands. I am looking to get anything over $999. Yes, I know the camera that are $5,000 work awesome. I would basically like for something that shoots like a toy camera, a Lomo Diana, and/or something that just shoots really beautifully with hi-res deep color photos. Is there something digital that any of you can recommend that does that? Or would film be the way to go? What is good about a Canon SLR and does anyone have experience with one? Also, what about Yashica? Thanks
  7. i just had these this week finally. i knew they were in the supermarkets and found a box. they were way better than i was expecting. i did not know what cheerwine was either when i moved here from jersey. its cherry cola. and the cheerwine cream mixes delightfully in the krispy kreme donut. i know that the krispy kreme here has ice cream and i need to check that out too.
  8. Re: I wanna see your...........PETS! his name is rusty. he is a five month old puggle - half pug/half beagle. could be the best dog i've ever had.
  9. now that is a cool guy. thanks for posting that up.
  10. Q: dippers? what the fuck you want dippers for? A: dippin!

  12. if he was anywhere near my cities on his tour i would definitely have gone to see him. unfortunately i moved from the industrial society.
  13. stick a pipe cleaner up the tip and work the stone on out. itll hurt less.
  14. dont you know when a girl says no she really means yes. cmon dude, gets serious.
  15. i think i may have put some post-rock bands in the drone/doom thread. i think there are quite a few bands and russian circles is one of them, has the skill and style to tread multiple genres. they can be metal at times, but also sound like what is described as post-rock as well as drone.
  16. some blogs i regularly check out... http://stonerobixxx.blogspot.com/ http://sludgeswamp.blogspot.com/ http://soundweave.blogspot.com/ http://dronea.blogspot.com/ some other bands ive been listening to are journey to ixtlan, ostinato, and human bell, which i think someone mentioned before. a cool band to check out is zippo who are from italy i believe.
  17. the amount of acetomenaphen would have caused your liver to shut down. taking too much of that stuff could be toxic. people take that stuff after a hangover but its not such a great idea.
  18. i guess what i was hearing was correct. i had said at the top of the thread he allegedly not only stabbed himself but also drank bleach and superficially sliced his wrists. crazy. hope the guy gets better. he can beat the drug demons. hes very dedicated to work/touring and dude just needs to go to eric claptons rehab or some shit. relax on a carribean island.
  19. you made it sound as if you took them on the regular. speaking from experience, dont go down the path. you will not make it to the 30 days and by that i mean you will likely start taking more than one a day, build a tolerance, then be on the roller coaster. or you can just say fuck it. most of us here do probably.
  20. those atp parties are fun as fuck! the place in ny is super cool too. its in the catskills and many of new yorkers would flee the hot city in the summer and go there.
  21. you sound addicted. you take it in excessive doses and mix it with alcohol. you admit to many times when you have overdone and have done enough shit in one night to get locked up for a good while i.e. hitting a female, destroying property, etc. with your one-a-day plan it just sounds like you are trying to justify a reason as to why it is acceptable to take drugs which from the sound of it, you arent even prescribed. as earl said, learn self control and try not taking drugs to make you clear. go speak to a doctor if you are having mental health issues and get on something that will work. id bet though you want shit thatll fuck you up and thats why you arent going to a doctor and indulging in some pills and whatever else you can get. you say ''drugs are somthing you do for fun." if you are doing it on the regular, thats addicted my friend. embrace it instead of making a thread asking people if its ok to indulge in drugs when your prior history shows you to be someone who has the same traits as one who has substance abuse issues. im being your friend.
  22. that new doomriders is good. i had never heard of them before this latest one.
  23. haha. i made a thread yesterday or the day before about artie from the stern show. i havent been on 12oz in some time. i check it out here and there but am dropping my two cents once again. lots of unfamiliar names up here. i am getting some laughs out of that tease thread. that dude was pretty funny. ive really gotten into some doom/drone stuff the past year so yeah, it was cool to see this thread pop up. !@#$% you should check out yawning man. josh homme has said that band was a major inspiration for kyuss.
  24. that guy is robert lowe aka lichens. lichens is really good. there arent really any vocals on it just drone stuff. he has also done an album with a guy from bloc party and one from tv on the radio (two bands im not into) thats not so bad. it was cool you caught em on that tour since it was kinda short. i think i like emil as well. om really came together and has a nice flow going with pilgrimage and following it up with god is good. they are my two favorite albums by them so emil is doing well in my book. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- the grails are dope. a good friend went to go see them at the ATP in england over the summer or whenever it was a short time ago. sleep also played a reuinted show which he said was stellar. hibernaculum is good but its really just a small ep of stuff from other albums. all the songs are great tho. ive got a bunch of hard to find stuff of theirs and live business. check this out. http://southernshelter.com/category/earth/
  25. Earth: Hex or Printing in the Infernal Method OM - Pilgrimage This is my favorite album by OM. Just saw them a couple months back and they were very good. Ancestors - Of Sound Mind Yawning Man - Vista Point Heirs - Alchera Russian Circles - Geneva anything by this band is great Pelican - Ephemeral Headdress - Turquoise
