^^ quite alright
Although i don't consider myself to be a full on "movie snob", I do care a good deal in regards to how my time/money is spent. I can appreciate fluff as much as anyone else.....if all I did was watch movies like Requiem For a Dream, Bully, Ken Park, City of God, etc.... I'd be one depressed/creepy dude. I too need my occasional fix of mental junk food as much as the next person.
Mainstream flicks are like fast food. Some are the McDonalds (X-Men2, Kill Bill, Hellboy for example): piping hot, yummy, you know it has no real nutritional value but satisfying and tasty.
Others being the Burger King (ALien vs predator, Stepford Wives, The Village) which have no value, taste horrible and leave you feeling like you got scammed.
Thus, some places are so bad I won't even eat there and the same goes for movies. Anyone can make a burger but for me to want to eat it, a person has to go a step beyond and trump it up with mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, etc..... not just throwing the meat between two buns. I like my movies the same way....with a side of fries to boot.
