    I went with this cute black chick tonight who suprised me by pulling out a flask of tequila 5 mins into it...yeah!

     

    Anyways, it is a very well done movie I have to say. The cinematogrpahy is excellent and there are a lot of nail biting moments that had me pretty much yelling "AAAA GO GO GO GO!!! AAAHHH!" which was okay because so was my date and the rest of theater.

     

    That part where they have to jump start the car being one of them.

     

    State sponsored suicide, war torn refugee camps, nazi/abu ghraib/homeland security overtones abound, real spooky "the end is near" vibe overall.

     

    Clive Owens is my new favorite actor. The guy is amazing. Can;t wait to see him in Sin City 2

     

    I really do not know how the fuck 1988 tried to draw a correlation between this and Kubricks films. Maybe a dash of Full Metal Jacket (the scary ass firefight in the refugee camp) but other than that......uh, i am drawing a blank.

     

     

     

    So yes, go see this in the theater. A very very good movie which will feel worth having paid ten dollars for.

    i never had a problem finding porn when i was younger. by 4th grade i knew this nerdy asian kid who could hack websites and we had passwords to every pornsite when i was younger. it was a golden age, because my dad also had a huge stash of playboy magazines back in the day, actually he still does. next time im at the rents house i might drop by and take a look

     

     

    we didn't have the internet in my heyday.

     

    But my asian friend David Yoshikawa had some inexplicable hook up on smut as a sixth grader and would sell mags for $15 a pop.

    I bought that movie for a buck and still didnt think it was worth it.....

    I've done the whole grimey ass punk rock thing in years past and thus can completely relate to all the shit they deal with in the movie.

    I don't buy for kids. Not worth the hassle. Besides, can't you order beer online now anyways?

     

    Obtaining alcohol was never an issue for me growing up. Getting porn was the tricky part.

     

    You usually had to rely on a parent or sibling to have a stash you could oggle or else you'd go to the Marin City flea market where they'd usually be some older guys that wouldn't have issues with selling a 14 yr old kid a Playboy magazine.

     

    There days all a kid has to do is type http://www.hotpornography.com and they're in. Not in my day.

    Flea was great in that movie Suburbia

     

    if you young'uns haven;t seen this movie, check it out. L.A. Punk rock grime at it's very best. Great performances by the Vandals and TSOL. Home invasions, dog maulings, employee harassment, drugs, overdoses, punk vs. jock battles, do-it-yourself brandings, and a thick blueberry slurpee right into a jar of pickeled eggs.

     

     

    Oh yeah, and Flea too.
