  1. Exactly That!!!!, When Writers who have practised and studied, simple, raw basic styled letters. Then go on to Rock the freshest Interlocking wild styles, You can see that the foundations in style, have helped the structure of this dope outline. Like drawing, with out learning the foundations of human antimony through life drawing etc, you'd prob, find it more difficult to render a convincing drawing of a person. Nice one.... pZ....
  2. Page One, Like the good Advice you been giving here, Dont take anything to heart. You can see that you have good promise, with your letters just take it all back, stript everything down, and practice as much has you can B.. if you seen style wars, clock the straight letter style that skeme was speaking about with his, "All you see is crime in the city" rocking silver window down train. Thats a perfect train for the letters, Some times I think a straight letter style can rock harder, than some Wild styles. I'm not saying Bite Skeme, But focus on the style, Dondi too rocked some of the finest trains ever, using straight letters with his children of the grave series. If you can master simple straight letters, it will open the door for many other styles. good styles and letters have there foundation in simple letters, trust me. One more little thing, most of us where the same when we begun, was the pressure and urge to jump into wilder letters, before we even found our first steps with practising straight styles. Some just seem to miss the grounding in practising good solid letters, and it shows in there unreadable wildstyles that looks good, but when you check they contain weak letters, thinking that as long as its unreadable it dont matter. things wont happen over night but bare with it and before long you'll be doing some nice letters.. nice one..all the best...
  3. Decyferon.. Mate Really Diggin that outline, looks a little looser than a few of your outlines, which are dope in there own right. 6. Master of many styles, An All round writer Truly up there with the best of them.. That pimp my style, canvas is Killer!!!!! True Master!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. ILoveboxcars, No problem mate, I was also drawn by your Drawing, as you got the cylinder? Roundness, of the wine bottle true to form, You know, keeping the roundness in proportion, as well has the vase type shape of a wine bottle, Lots get it wrong, but you got it, Including the other bottles and glass, and the shadows. Just one little thing which I think you may of done, but could of got lost in the charcoal dust, Would to get a sharp pointed rubber/eraser and rub out sharp highlights in until the white of the paper came through, on the bottles and glass, then next to the highlights, just shade it that bit darker to make the highlights pop out more and give more of a illusion of glass or a shine look.. You prob know all this anyway, Please I hope I don't, sound like I'm practising you or anyone.. Nice one.. Hayabusa, Man that's truly Raw!!!!!!!, you caught this breed with the eyes perfectly, and the shading/blending, with all the tonal values is so damn dope. Did you work from life? Man the drawing is up there man, You'd be an amazing animal, wildlife illustrator/artist. Love it man.. pZ..

  11. Cheers mate, Yeah I think thats what I'm going to do man, I think if I add to much things to the painting it will become to busy and take your eyes away from the main feature being the guy shooting up into his femoral vein.. I'm working on this too, Along with a few other paintings for the addiction series. Pasty skinned crack addict, in a club.. anyway thanks.. Great stuff Edoggg..That bird is dope Hayabusa... Nice one...
  12. To Fresh!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Always thought FBA cars to be up there with the best, Years ahead of there time.. Kicking chicken!!!! P.S. Love the lil details, like the drips falling from the roof/top of the train..genius!!!!!!
  13. Hayabusa..Thanks man, Cheers, Yesterday I added more details, to Cope's jacket his hand and painted the tattoo he has. There's a lot I'm still not happy with, I'm never really happy with anything I do anyway.. I begun to paint T.Kids Panel piece too, I used one of his classic's from Subway art. For some reason I like some of his older pieces than his new ones, I'm not saying his new stuff is lame in any way. There still dope, Just There's something about his old style that oozes Funk.. Anyway Cheers man.. Keep up your dope work/paintings man.. I like that Groyn Shmoyn, I like the grooves on the horse, I dont know why, but it reminds me of a tattoo design, The grooves kinda remind me of some tribal tattoos.. I like it man.. What medium did you use? Nice one... Peace...... PS I cant log out for some reason?
  14. Thanks Publicenemy...KrokPma.. Yeah I'll paint a few things like wall sockets/plugs etc I go from there I think. I was going to paint the whole background Red. What I mean, is what ever I paint in the room, like the Bed, Old T.V, wall sockets etc, I'd just monochrome it all red, leaving the guy shooting up, in colour. I've used Red backgrounds on a few other addiction paintings This next painting is based on Case 2, T.Kid, and Cope 2 (with is famous finger pointing thing he does) Theres still loads to do, like putting a piece on each train by each writer, details on there clothes, etc. What it is, I'm unsure if to paint an elevated track above the the train behind cope, to balance the paintings composition, against the burnt out buildings above Case 2. The painting of Case is causing me issues, I've used a recent photo of him, He don't look like he did back in 1982, So I'm not sure if people will recognize him. Plus the Image I used is cut above his arm, Its been stress trying to source or find any recent photos of him. I just cant find any? With Cope I used two different pictures of him, to add that pointing his finger thing he always does.. Anyway I was thinking of maybe putting some steel fencing and razor wire at the bottom of the painting, But I'm thinking it might make the painting way to busy once the details are done on the trains, clothes, buildings etc.. PS sorry another poor washed out phone flick.. I'm about to start a new one, a chase scene in the yards.. Anyway Thanks for your advice, Its good to have fresh eyes look at your work and point you in a right way just in case you get to fiddly and over work a painting and wreak it.. Thanks for your feedback.. Peace..
  15. Not sure where to take this, Its a painting I begun as part of a series on Addictions. (sorry its a bad phone picture) Its been in my to complete paintings for over a year now, I'm just stuck on what to do with it. Its one of them paintings that nag at you to finish, as with a few in this series. Any advice would be helpful? I was thinking of painting a dirty type hotel/motel, squat with a bed in the background with a female still past out, on dirty bedding, with a mirror in the background wall. So he's looking at a mirror, that we cant see only from the reflection on the mirror in the background behind him, showing his back and maybe his own reflection, if you get me? Its a subject close to my heart.. nice one.. pZ....
  16. You cant go wrong with Turner, Luckily I've seen a few paintings in the flesh in London, Guy was way ahead of his time... Speaking of which I'm not sure if you've come across this site by Google, It lets you zoom about some famous museums then if you want you can zoom into a paintings, kinda like google earth. Some of the paintings you can zoom right in and clock the brushwork, even stray hairs from brushes in paint become visible. There are a few good artists at the moment, with more work being scanned and put in. You can go right in too some paintings, and take a screen grab etc and use that for an idea abstract painting, esp the Van Gogh's work. His paintings are immense zoomed in 100per cent, Every brush stroke, in crisp detail, and he worked impasto heavily, so the thick paint casts there own shadow. Like I said you could get influenced to paint abstract paintings just by sections of his brush work. Esp the starry night painting. I love it, as you can really see how an artist would of worked and done his/her painting, Some you see, again Van Gogh just didn't bother to use gesso, just painted straight on to the canvas... Anyway check it man... http://www.googleartproject.com/ Nice one.. pZ..
  17. Feeling the last PICR, with the pink fill, Raw flow and letters!!!!!!!!!
  18. Love that Power sketch, It's got has that pure FUNK!!!!!!!!
  19. Just a small painting for now, I've begun a series or plan to paint some canvases on the old skool subway writers in NYC, this painting is no one in particular just a sketch if anything.. But I'm working on a large canvas with portraits of three old skool writers, I hope to paint a number of writers that where there during the 70s 80s and where a massive influence on me and my peers, they still are a huge influence , since seeing graff first in subway art, style wars back in 84 its been a massive part of my life since.. Illness is making it nearly impossible to paint big pieces etc anymore, so I've started to paint on canvas. Again a learning curve.. I'm worried that this series will be to much of a cliché, but I'll try and paint these writers from both sides of the pond in a way that's somewhat different, But I got to add the Trains and there panels, etc... I'll see how it turns out.. Anyway enough blabbing on..This painting is 12x12.. Nice one, Great thread this, and a great section of the forum.. pZ..
  20. Yeah man, looking good I like it, its not full of clutter, & bells and whistles etc I like it as its clean, straight to the point and easy to navigate about to your work etc, ... 21. Your birds are dope Hayabusa, You can see you like painting them. Looking good Publicenemy... Are you going to add colour? It looks cool Black and white for that graphic look.
