  1. Fools better terrorize texas or nebraska or something instead of new york this time.
  2. My thoughts so far: fuck the midwest.
  3. I don't think the idea of guns being a tool for organized resistance to some nightmarish Orwellian future (as realistic or unrealistic as that may actually be) even pops into the average American's head on any given day; nor do I think democratic or republican politicians give such an idea much heed when supporting or denouncing anti-gun bills. It's pressure from the people, from the media, from voters, and maybe even from whatever's left of their own innate consciences, that pushes politicians whichever direction they may lean on gun control issues. "Limiting civilian resistance" is barely a blip on the current political radar. You think your average democratic congressman stares at some anti-gun bill and thinks "now here's a good, progressive step in eventually disarming the public so the government can one day assume complete and total control over them"? I don't buy that angle at all. And this strikes me as borderline paranoia: "WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO DISARM THE POPULATION? Well, obviously, because if we are armed, WE CAN RESIST." C'mon, I've read all the prophetic dystopian literature I can get my hands on, but that's like seeing a price increase on toilet paper and deciding it's a conspiracy to give hemorroids to the poor. It's skewed logic.

How could that be hard to believe? He practically begs you to take him seriously. And he attempts to influence just as much as he attempts to entertain. Look at his track record: Roger and me: "deindustrialization is bad." The big one: "corporate layoffs are bad." Bowling for columbine: "guns (and charlton heston) are bad." Fahrenheit 9/11: "bush is bad." If he's only trying to entertain people he's picking an odd way of going about it.
  5. They are operatives of the democratic party...I think it's a matter of self defense for the Kerry campaign to try ruin Nader's chances... Quoted post [/b] I.E. Eric Alterman. In this month's Nation he replies to a "defense of nader" type letter and once again shits all over nader. I think he even blames him for "dooming the world" or something like that.
  6. I agree that nader should have sat this one out, but I can't believe how much effort and energy the media and the public have channeled into insulting or degrading him. All these anti-nader websites and hate-fueled columns in magazines -- who the fuck are these people? How many assholes pointing fingers down from the almighty fuck nader high horse have ever approached the same level of exhausting, life-long progressive activism? People bitch and whine that we "might not" have gone to war in iraq because bush "might not" have been elected if nader hadn't run in 2000, while those same people "might not" have survived their last mini-vancapade to six flags if nader wasn't beating down the door of the automobile industry in the 60s (probably well before a lot of these arrogant know-it-alls were even born). I'm not voting for nader but damn, dude's become the rodney dangerfield of american politics.
  7. Last I heard kerry was fairly moderate on the ewok issue, favoring neither writer much over the other.
  8. I think it was nader who made the clam quote: "Corporate control of the american political system is at all time high and must be immediately reformed. Plus cheney's daughter is a clam bumper."
  9. The only thing changing the two party system is an intense societal lobotomy.
  10. Wow. I, too, am revolted by the suggestion of the annoying passive-aggressive bow-tie guy as any sort of sex symbol. Good god. He's up there with lumberg from office space in his ungodly dedication to being a shithead. Who the fuck wears a bow tie at 35?
  11. That was brilliant. Stewart took the words right out of a huge portion of the public's mouth. I found it funny that bow-tie guy kept mentioning how much more fun stewart is on his own show, as if the guy's supposed to be running his comedy routine every time he makes a media appearance or does an interview. And since when do those bickering goofball pundit shouting matches even approach an atmosphere of "fun" anyway? "Partisan hacks." Lol. I can't believe he said that to their faces.
  12. Feelin the flicks you posted ethredzny. I'm a huge fan of TM7 stuff from like a decade ago. Not that their new stuff isn't good, but something about that era/style around the mid 90s catches my eye a lot.
  13. Boston fans are definitely illy ill. Somebody should convince all of Boston that osama's a yankee fan and watch that dude's head turn up like 3 days later. "How bout dem apples." Word to psychotic sports fanatics.
  14. Bates on freights would indeed be hot.
  15. Yo this guy is flavor, I wasn't even knowing! I don't think his stuff's a good example of the whole 'weird' euro exagerrated letter thing at all; everything looks well proportioned, he's got an ill flow from letter to letter, and some of his core style even has a kind of ny/classic feel to it ... but with a different, more european spin (looks like some pieces more than others maybe) Pretty dope.
  16. Dope pictures. That town looks pretty rocked.
  17. I like all the discussion on here ... Anybody who's really paid attention to the direction graffiti letters started in vs. the direction they've gone in the last 15 or so years knows that stak is holding down something fundamentally dope. The style is subtle but flashy. There aren't a million different colors or connections, the letters dont do pretzel-twists and bend and fly out in 8 dimensions; they just flow and play off each other on some classic panel-style flavor. Legible but dope. Angular breaks in his arrows. Traditional connections and fresh color schemes. Its 80s subway panel shit with updated technique and more experience. The only way I could see someone not feeling stak is by a matter of sheer taste or rookie style-ignorance. He's obviously real dope. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/raygay/stakizzle.jpg'>
  18. Both of those are real fresh. The simple styles are where its at.
  19. Ali G you know you're fresh. But yeah I've been listening to that, too. He came out with some shit called "we're all gonna burn in hell" that's kinda dope. Really cheery.
  20. Looks like maybe he uses simple styles and silver pieces instead of throwups in a lot of his illegal spots. I'm still kinda feeling his simpler throwups, though. Bates is too fresh!
