Actually if you read the link soup posted, there is no implication that the least educated people are religious: "Previous Gallup research shows that the rate of church attendance is fairly constant across educational groups, suggesting that this relationship is not owing to an underlying educational difference but instead reflects a direct influence of religious beliefs on belief in evolution."

One obvious way to interpret that poll (at least where it's concerned with church attendance) is that when the scientific experts (like Dawkins) tell you that evolution and religion are not compatible, there will always be a certain portion of the religious community that will deny evolution.

As far as I know Dennett subscribes to Compatibilism. Compatibalism (as far as I know) is not the Libertarian view of Free will.
