  1. first off unless your like eight or so this isnt exactly rocket science, you need to start figuring stuff out on your own. Letter structure. take a look at a simple yet classical font. like the typeface here on 12oz. times new roman for instance... your name...or whatever...MIGO migo. study the structure of the letters, they are made up of simple shapes, ie. bars. look at them like shapes, all drawings can be broken down into simple shapes then built upon. your girl drawings need work but at least you are drawing. If you arent old enough to get into a life drawing class try picking up some anatomy books and studying the figure it will really help you along the way, I reccomend any book by Bruce Hogarth amongst others. anyways hope this helps...keep on keeping on.
  2. If I were you I would concentrate more on letter structure, than perspective, 3d or anything, Kinda like what some of the sketches Hovie is doing. Once you learn your letters and how to manipulate them properly youll progress much better. -keep it simple, even if it there just straight block letters its the best start. and the best way to learn. --yoinksrandomhelppostonerski--
  3. Virs: good to see progression from you. Ciste, as always hot ass flow! and Kilo, damn. I like style...and that is some style.
  4. UltraFlat: Dope work, Just 2 questions, how big is it? Is that on board/canvas/wood? Im a sucker for collage type work.
  5. intriguing, looking forward to it then
  6. Damn Joker Those last posts were insane. I would love to have one of those in my possesion, (if I had the cheese to of course.) absolutely sweet. Just outta curiousity when you sell your work like that, what price range do they usually go for??? (Like if you were to sell the wood one, or the musuem ones etc?) Hey Tess, why dont you show us the whole thing? ;) Looks good!
  7. that alone makes me want to shit my pants no matter what everytime I hear it. I like the third one the best but can dig the others no doubt.
  8. nice entry Kilo, been awhile since you posted anything around these parts.
  9. I have this on my wall. http://www.siloette.com/siloegypsy.jpg'> 0o:you are all the jealouso0
  10. those were superb ese! I shouldnt be neglecting this thread, theres some hot shit in here.
  11. Since I dont like interfering, Im really not going to, just kinda, Its fine to point something out like that, but why not just say I see similarities in the sticker to this painting, rather than try to be a dick about it. Ciste while an amazing artist im sure and you can probably ask him did not invent using negative space to form letters or shapes, And to Hecz credit I do believe he tried something like this a long time ago as well. anyways, Im not bashing on either I just think people on this board should be more helpful in their critiques whether they are pointing out problems or praising them. carry on gentlemen.
  12. sure, ditch that fake me out 3d style, make the leters straight and in order, practice that alot, then develop on letters. ie. make your letters fit inbetween this space first ------------ ------------ get it? practice simple straight forward approaches, learn those letters, how they are formed etc... then keep on sketching.
  13. bored at the coffee shop. I Dont usually do stickers but heres a few I came up with earlier... Any hoo, just four I did kinda as inspirations from some people on here... First Set: Left: Obviouslly a nod to the lady Silo...and a bit of a cartoonish Elektra feel to it. Right: this one actually nothing...I just drew myself holding a book with a sticker pretty self explanatory. just for shits and giggles I guess. http://www.fatcap.co.uk/host/files/stickers%201%20copy.jpg'> Second Set: Okay top one, Isnt directly influenced by Bob Hope, but I liked his Pallette (sp) idea alot, and also like to do stuff like that (sometimes when turning in a project I will deliberately leave my color mixings etc around the side, makes for interesting markings...) so yeah...its colors...funny. bottom one is for some reason Kinda nod to Seekings sticker thread, although not directly like his, I think my placement made me think of that anyways...its a flip cell phone...and it says...get this....FLIP YOU. HARRRRRRRRRRR. http://www.fatcap.co.uk/host/files/stickers2again.jpg'> oh yeah that hand sucks on the cell phone one i know...I am thoroughly disgusted by it...but shite whatcha gonna do. I hate scans as they come in so large and ugly looking but hopefully you folks get the jist of them and how they would actually look from afar...enjoy..or dont..its your call. Adios amigos.
  14. Those are nice Dev, the second one wouldnt happen to be you would it??;)

knowledge rules supreme over everyone nice illustration MOE...the effect you put on his fist (impact) is great, and I like the motion effect on the hand itself, (and a tad on the arm (nice touch)) and the trail, but the line above the guy gettin knocked right arm is a bit wonkey, i assume its the end of the motion trail?..just a little crit, but its surely a fantastic promo.;)

well said, a professor up here taught me a method also that involved tracing out of a real reputable anatomy book, on tracing paper get the head and neck, from there draw the body (from the photo ref.) then reallign the paper to the picture and see where you skewed the body, and eventually after drawing your ass off your pictures start to basically line up almost exact, it was just a method of practicing, and a way to do studies for anatomy. its all gravy man! keep contributing ;)
