  1. pistol:The inner city of Omaha Nebraska is nothing like the inner city of Los Angeles. Yeah, thanks for clearing that up.
  2. as to the thread... we have this forum called the 3rd Rail... yeah, I just noticed that was there, my bad.
  3. Does anyone else think this would be a good idea? If I may briefly hold the groups collective sack for a moment I'd like to say that there seem to be more than a few decents heads around here and it would be nice to have an outlet to promote/discuss/argue/threaten each other about shows/galleries/court-dates etc.
  4. You prolly opened this thread to see some stupid ass joke or spam or some shit but its a serious question. People still use this decades old term but I dont think its really accurate anymore. In most of the citys I've been in the 'inner city' has been gentrified to death and is nothing but a strip mall with REALLY tall starbucks. Would you say this is true for your city; that yuppies have turned all the industrial parts into ultra-trendy lofts and bulldozed all the 'neighborhood' type neighborhoods? Is it also true of your city that the outlaying suburbs and smaller nearby towns have taking in all the former 'innercity' residents so as not to distract the tourists?

    skinhead FAQ

zesto- "oh yeah... I totally agree that not all skinheads are facists" You should have said not all skinheads are racist, which is true. For the most part, all skins ARE fascists, which is different from being racist. And if I may, Id like to point out an error in the article Mang posted. "2. There are SHARPS or ARA Skinheads. Sometimes they’re communists, sometimes they’re not" Thats not true, ARA is mostly anarchists.
  7. I dont think the US is using terror as a reason to enact a police state, I think the US is using terror as a way to bring the already thriving police state out of the closet for every one to wave thier plastic flags at. What do we have, like the second highest imprisonment rate in the WORLD? The police states already here, it's just as of recently being used to sell SUVs.

  11. "Let us speak plainly. Until the last convict is out of prison and the last 'madman' out of the asylum; until the last army has been disbanded and the last government overthrown; until the last church has been burned and the last bank pulverised; until the last capitalist and the last cop have been hanged to death with the guts of the last politician and the last priest; that is, until men and women are truly free, surrealism will continue relentlessly to provide miraculous weapons with which to struggle for this freedom". -- The Surrealist Group of Chicago, 1970 "I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours." - Stephen Roberts "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." - Ben Franklin "What I would like is for every greasy, grimy drifter to arm themselves with a gun or a knife, station themselves outside the homes of the rich and shoot or stab them as they enter or leave." - Lucy Parsons "I'll go up against a tank with a shank for my dreams, and that's my fuckin' word" - Dead Prez there's a city full of walls to compose complaints at" -Mos Def "Capitalism is the tyranny of man over man. Communism is the reverse." - Soviet-era Russian joke

    books and authors

good topic vonnegut- up to a few weeks ago I hadn't read shit by him. I finished 'sirens of titan' (decent book, but not as much so as I was expecting) in about two days and I'm currently 100 pages into SlaughterHouse 5-----< definitely feeling it Im also reading a book about the spanish civil war called "The spanish civil war" ,not exactly the kind of book that has you dancing in suspense but i feel there is much to be learned from that event in history. And if any of you out there have qualms over the 'war on terrorism' being staged by and for the same clowns who invented the 'war on drugs' I'd have to recomend chomsky.
