  1. Do you have a link or anything? Like an official statement from Italy, the US, Japan, or Switzerland?
  2. Bump. Because I'm still unable to find a fucking trustworthy update on this! Hopefully someone here knows more than I do, because this is one of the most interesting stories I've read in years, and it just disappeared from the media a few days after it supposedly happened. There's only a few recent articles (past 2-3 months) from questionable sources that state Alan Greenspan is somehow involved in all this... ha
  3. I returned the SMC router and bought an Asus DSL-N13 modem/router. I had the wireless network with internet up in about 2 minutes from the time i started unboxing it.
  4. I have DHCP enabled on the modem and router... Modem is 192.168.1.1 with a range of 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.254 And router is 192.168.2.1 with a range of 192.168.1.100 - 192.168.1.199 I'm starting to think this might be where the problem is, but i'm no network expert...
  5. Hello all, I currently have a DSL internet connection (D-Link DSL-380T modem) and my wireless router (D-Link DI-524) no longer works as wireless. So I purchased a new SMC (SMCWGBR14-N) wireless router yesterday as a replacement. However, I'm having problems accessing the internet when the new SMC router is plugged in (wired and wireless). Furthermore, I'm unable to access the DSL modem's management page when the new SMC router is plugged in. I’ve gone through the SMC’s connection wizard, with no luck. I’ve also tried to configure it manually, copying the configuration settings that were on the old router. And still no luck. Here’s the ipconfig/all details for the working D-Link DI-524 router and D-Link DSL-380T modem configuration: Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : Bacon-PC Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . : Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Hybrid IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : No WINS Proxy Enabled. . . . . . . . : No Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Atheros AR8121/AR8113/AR8114 PCI-E Ethern et Controller Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-23-54-2C-A7-FF DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : Yes Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80::396c:887b:805c:c979%9(Preferred) IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.199(Preferred) Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0 Lease Obtained. . . . . . . . . . : Sunday, January 24, 2010 8:30:23 PM Lease Expires . . . . . . . . . . : Sunday, January 31, 2010 8:30:22 PM Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.1 DHCP Server . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.1 DHCPv6 IAID . . . . . . . . . . . : 234890068 DHCPv6 Client DUID. . . . . . . . : 00-01-00-01-11-8D-F6-9A-00-23-54-2C-A7-FF DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 194.228.41.113 192.168.0.1 NetBIOS over Tcpip. . . . . . . . : Enabled Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection*: Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Description . . . . . . . . . . . : isatap.{BA15247D-E37B-4749-96D2-5DCD36372 8A3} Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-00-00-00-00-00-00-E0 DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection* 2: Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Description . . . . . . . . . . . : 6TO4 Adapter Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-00-00-00-00-00-00-E0 DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes And here’s the ipconfig/all details for the new SMC SMCWGBR14-N and D-Link DSL-380T setup: Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : Bacon-PC Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . : Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Hybrid IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : No WINS Proxy Enabled. . . . . . . . : No Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Atheros AR8121/AR8113/AR8114 PCI-E Ethern et Controller Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-23-54-2C-A7-FF DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : Yes Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80::396c:887b:805c:c979%9(Preferred) IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.199(Preferred) Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0 Lease Obtained. . . . . . . . . . : Sunday, January 24, 2010 8:30:23 PM Lease Expires . . . . . . . . . . : Sunday, January 31, 2010 8:30:22 PM Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.1 DHCP Server . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.1 DHCPv6 IAID . . . . . . . . . . . : 234890068 DHCPv6 Client DUID. . . . . . . . : 00-01-00-01-11-8D-F6-9A-00-23-54-2C-A7-FF DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 194.228.41.113 192.168.0.1 NetBIOS over Tcpip. . . . . . . . : Enabled Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection*: Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Description . . . . . . . . . . . : isatap.{BA15247D-E37B-4749-96D2-5DCD36372 8A3} Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-00-00-00-00-00-00-E0 DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection* 2: Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Description . . . . . . . . . . . : 6TO4 Adapter Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-00-00-00-00-00-00-E0 DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes Also, I would be able to provide some screenshots of my modem/router settings if needed.   6. 'Punctuation hero' branded a vandal for painting apostrophes on street signs After enduring sloppy punctuation on the street sign outside his home for more than a year, Stefan Gatward could stand it no longer. The 62-year-old former soldier decided to launch a one-man crusade against 'dumbed down' Britain, and picked up a paintbrush to insert a missing apostrophe. This turned the incorrect St Johns Close into the correct St John's Close But he was immediately accused of being a vandal by one neighbour, and his amendments have been scratched off by others who apparently prefer the wrong version. The 62-year-old's defence of the apostrophe comes after Birmingham council announced it would scrap the punctuation from council signs for the sake of 'simplicity'. Mr Gatward moved into his flat in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, 14 months ago. He said today: 'As we are off St John's Road and opposite St John's Church, both with the apostrophe, St John's Close should have one too.' But when Mr Gatward decided to correct the crime against the language by painting in the missing punctuation mark, he was jeered by a neighbour. 'He told me I was wrong. He called me a vandal and a graffiti artist,' Mr Gatward said. 'He tried to tell me that the Post Office would not deliver to the street if you put in an apostrophe.' Mr Gatward, who served for four years in the Gordon Highlanders in the 1960s, is not just a campaigner for the apostrophe. He will not join the 'five items or less' queue at the supermarket, in protest that the sign should read 'five items or fewer'. He also gets annoyed when people-neglect the 'Royal' in 'Royal Tunbridge Wells', and was vexed when he saw a major chain store advertising sales with signs saying 'until stocks last' rather than 'while stocks last'. 'I fought for the preservation of our heritage and our language but some people seem happy to let that go. I'm not,' he said. 'I feel very strongly about the English language. These days people write in text-speak and nobody knows how to use the apostrophe.' He added: 'I'm not going to go round with a can of paint and change everything - it would be a full-time job.' A spokesman for Tunbridge Wells council said that the builders of Mr Gatward's estate were responsible for erecting the signs, and the council is responsible only for maintaining them. However, developer Linden Homes said any fault rested with the council. 'The sign was approved by the council, that's our position on it,' said a spokesman.   7. Do you have any links or sources with official statements from Italy, the US, Japan, or Switzerland?
  8. Also, the article from Bloomberg was misleading when it stated, "The undeclared bonds included 249 certificates worth $500 million each." Other sources say that there were 249 bonds of the ‘Federal Reserve‘ American in the nominal value of $500 million each, and 10 Kennedy bonds of the nominal value of $1 billion each, in addition to what is described as very original banking documentation. Either way; if they're fake, it's the biggest counterfeit case in history. And if they're real, Italy gets to keep 40%, and who the hell has that kind of money and why are they moving it illegally? The wikipedia page says that as of July 14, 2009 there have been no official or unofficial updates from the U.S., Italian, or Japanese officials. But there is a lot of speculation if you do various google searches.
  9. This one is a little old, but still very fascinating. I've looked all over and can only find a few sources covering this. And I haven't been able to find many updates either. Japan Probes Report Two Seized With Undeclared Bonds (Update2) By Shunichi Ozasa and Makiko Kitamura June 12 (Bloomberg) -- Japan is investigating reports two of its citizens were detained in Italy after allegedly attempting to take $134 billion worth of U.S. bonds over the border into Switzerland. “Italian authorities are in the midst of the investigation, and haven’t yet confirmed the details, including whether they are Japanese citizens or not,” Takeshi Akamatsu, a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said by telephone today in Tokyo. “Our consulate in Milan is continuing efforts to confirm the reports.” An official at the Consulate General of Japan in Milan, who only gave his name as Ikeda, said it still hasn’t been confirmed that the individuals are Japanese. “We are in contact with the Italian Financial Police and the Italian Public Prosecutor’s Office,” Ikeda said by phone today. The Asahi newspaper reported today Italian police found bond certificates concealed in the bottom of luggage the two individuals were carrying on a train that stopped in Chiasso, near the Swiss border, on June 3. The undeclared bonds included 249 certificates worth $500 million each, the Asahi said, citing Italian authorities. The case was reported earlier in Italian newspapers Il Giornale and La Repubblica and by the Ansa news agency. If the securities are found to be genuine, the individuals could be fined 40 percent of the total value for attempting to take them out of the country without declaring them, the Asahi said. The Italian embassy in Tokyo was unable to confirm the Asahi report. link here: http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601101&sid=ayy1QKcwcGN0

  13. Al Franken Related... Military burial that cut corners riles Franken Cpl. Ben Kopp's family had the option of waiting two months for full military honors or going without them. By Eric Roper, Star Tribune Last update: August 14, 2009 - 11:17 PM WASHINGTON - Sen. Al Franken squared off with Arlington National Cemetery officials this week after a Minnesota soldier killed in Afghanistan failed to receive all the trappings of a full military funeral because of limited resources. Minnesota's newest senator attended the burial last week of Rosemount native Cpl. Ben Kopp, 21, who died in mid-July after he was wounded by Taliban insurgents. Before the funeral service, officials at the cemetery in Arlington, Va., informed Kopp's mother that her son's coffin would not be escorted by a horse-drawn caisson -- a traditional carriage used in military ceremonies -- because none was available until October. Although his family had the right to a caisson, Kopp's body was transported in a hearse because his mother, Jill Stephenson, did not want to wait two months. "To say to a parent, 'There's such a backlog on these requests that you're going to have to wait two or three months to bury your son or your daughter' is cruel," Franken said in an interview. "If the family wants [a caisson], they should be able to have it." Earlier this week, Franken sent a searing letter to the cemetery's superintendent, John Metzler, demanding that steps be taken to expedite full-honor military burials. Franken and Stephenson would like to see more caissons made available. "This is an intolerable and undue burden on a family that is already mourning the loss of a loved one, and the perception left by this incident is unbecoming and unacceptable," the senator wrote. Franken noted that the family's grief was amplified when they saw what appeared to be an empty caisson unit practicing near Kopp's burial plot, which Stephenson said felt like "a slap in the face." Arlington officials have since said the unit was not practicing, but returning from another procession. Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., wrote a similar letter to Arlington after being contacted by a friend of the family. "In the midst of what I have going on in my life -- you know, losing my only child -- I need somebody to advocate for me," Stephenson said. "And I'm very grateful that they're doing that." Col. Dan Baggio, a spokesman for the Military District of Washington, which oversees the units responsible for the caissons, said families wait an average of two months to use one of Arlington's two caissons. In 2009, a new policy extended full-honor burials to all soldiers killed in action, and Arlington officials added more time slots to keep the same average wait time. Baggio said that they are now discussing ways to improve those wait times. "We're going to take a close look at it," Baggio said. As of Friday, Franken's office had not heard back from Arlington about whether any action will be taken. Kopp's funeral was also attended by Defense Secretary Robert Gates, marking the second time the military commander has done so in his current position. Given the atmosphere and nature of the event, however, neither Stephenson nor Franken approached Gates about the caissons. The Rosemount High School graduate's death was widely publicized, because Kopp was an organ donor. His heart was transplanted into Judy Meikle, an ailing woman from Chicago. Stephenson said she now communicates with Meikle almost every day via e-mail. "It really is an amazing thing to be involved in," Stephenson said, referring to the heart transplant. "It honors Ben's memory and gives me an opportunity to honor his memory and for him to go on living." link here: http://www.startribune.com/politics/state/53260872.html?elr=KArks:DCiUocOaL_nDaycUiD3aPc:_Yyc:aUU
  14. I read these whenever I get a chance, here are some of my favorites: MARCH 21 Harassment. A man in the 11100 block of Sunset Trail N. called police to report an ongoing dispute with his neighbor. He said the neighbor keeps giving him the finger. The neighbor denied giving him the finger and said he was just waving hello. JUNE 20 Suspicious activity. Police received a call about two men dressed in camouflage walking in the area of Hamel Road and Elm Creek Drive. Officers located the men. They were National Guard members training for an upcoming deployment. MAY 26 Vandalism. Someone placed a dead raccoon in the trunk of a vehicle on the 8400 block of Pioneer Creek Road. APRIL 18 Disturbing the peace. Police responded to a call at 1:46 a.m. on the 7800 block of Maple Hill Road. There was a loud tractor plowing a field and the caller could not sleep. The officer could see that the farmer was nearly done plowing the field but was unable to get the farmer's attention. MARCH 20 Property damage. An officer explained that the light -- a yard light -- did not violate any law. JUNE 29 Property damage. Someone put dog feces in the mailbox at a home on the 12800 block of 54th Avenue. JULY 25 Disorderly conduct. Police were called to the 7300 block of University Avenue NE., where two adult brothers were fighting over a McDonald's double cheeseburger. The brothers agreed to separate until they can get along.
  15. I was happy to see Norm Coleman lose, they've been grooming him to be president for years now. I think that's why he was putting up such a fight. I knew something was up when the papers were making an obvious effort to tie his identity to JFK in various ways, that's a classic way to prime someone for prez. And then when he was a speaker at the Republican convention in St. Paul, I knew that there were plans. I wonder if he'll still try even though his record is flawed. Go to hell Norm.
  16. Been drinking this lately: Damn tasty...
  17. I apologize, but I didn't read the entire thread. However, the title just reminded me of a recurring argument I've been having with myself that I haven't been willing to say out loud. But the past 8 years have made me so cynical, hopeless, and paranoid that I do believe that Obama is there for a reason, and not because 'our voice has been heard'. I think the US government has been overthrown somewhere along the way (before bush), and we're controlled by some other accumulation of power, and in ways we often don't realize, and maybe a lot of politicians don't realize either. I've yet to take that breath of fresh air that a lot of folks are taking because of Obama. The only thing I can say so far is that he's got charisma, and sounds like an intelligent man of the modern world when he speaks. Which is only one thing more than Bush had (to oversimplify). About half way through Dubya's 2nd term I left the US. I was trying to be righteous through all the bullshit and try as hard as I could to be objective and rap with my peers, only to escape for selfish reasons. I like my little bubble in this foreign country where I can't read the signs, can't understand what people are speaking about, and even if I did watch TV, I wouldn't know what the fuck they're saying. In a lot of ways I feel like a little kid again. Lastly, I don't know if this is a mistake on my part or not; but since I've been in this bubble for a few years now, I made the decision to come back on 12oz, in an effort to get my finger on the pulse again. I've always felt that 12oz is a good place for that, just as long as you're smart and use discretion. Now I'm gonna go check out that pics of hot girls thread, I bet there's a thousand new pages on there by now...
  18. I'm assuming the soundblaster is your preferred sound card? If the stock one is integrated into the motherboard, disable it in BIOS. Then restart and see if that helps.
  19. Re: Niggas officially banned from saying nigga. awesome. one more reason for people to be offended by the word.

  21. i'm pretty sure that pacino and deniro were never on the set at the same time during the filming of heat. i heard they have some beef that goes back to one of the godfather movies. heat is one of the best movies in the $5 bin at best buy.
  22. Sappnin guys, I haven't been on the forums in a while because I sold everything I own and moved to the Czech Republic, and with the little money I have I can't afford a computer or internet yet, so access is limited. But I need to know how I can make my emails (sent via outlook) appear as they're coming from a different IP that I choose. I have a source for server lists, so I don't need that. I'm not spamming, I only need to send a few emails that look like they're coming from a different country. I've been searching the internet and I found SocksCap. Will this work? Is it safe? Are there other options?
