personally, i would go with the felt. but, personally, i've never liked giants anyway, so i guess my opinion is biased. it depends on what type of riding your doing as well. if you're just starting out riding a fixed gear, you could get a mercier kilo (which is a pretty popular choice, and not a bad option for $350 complete.....) and use your leftover money to change out some of the stock parts for nicer ones.

-countless t-shirts. -LARGE painting (framed) of 3 ships (from columbus voyage, i'm assuming) sailing off into a blood red sky. -lots of other paintings. -small danish looking desk. -large glass pipe display case with a glass etching of sherlock holmes on the front and a large glass shadowbox full of victorian era models of women. -lots of books. -railroad track workers jacket. it had the reflective strips on it, i cut them off and wore it to paint. since i had a huge logo for the local commuter railroad on my jacket, this was great for walking tracks to get flicks and scope spots. lots of other things. i can't even remember. i've been shopping at thrift stores regularly for the past decade or so. before that, i was a "hand me down" kid. whatever.

i spent several years working in a shop and the better part of a decade riding bmx (sans brakes). while i'm perfectly capable of working on brakes/gears.... i hate doing it. so when i was looking for a bike that would be good for getting around the city, i ordered a single-speed. however, they sent it to me with a fixed cog instead of the freewheel i'd ordered. so i figured i'd try riding fixed. i like it a lot. i like the simplicity more than anything else. i do, however, think that the uber-pretentious "bike kids" are.... well.... super pretentious. so i prefer to ride alone and outside of williamsburg. i just want to be left alone to get around on my bike and enjoy myself. my wrists and knees are also fucked from bmx, so this is a good way for me to continue having fun on a bike. i'm going to try to build up an actual track specific bike so that i can try out riding at the velodrome and see if i can keep up with people. after i quit racing bmx, i never thought i'd try to race bikes again.... but.... here we are. honestly though, there's the people who want the "messenger aesthetic" (or whatever) and are more concerned with having a fashion accessory with pastel/neon parts. that's cool and all, but i stopped really caring what other people did with their bikes when i was 18 and realized that the hardcore/bike/graffiti/etc. scenes are all bizarro parallels of each other and that i should stop giving a fuck what anyone else does. my point is: who cares? if you're enjoying your time riding around, that's awesome. i would just prefer to be left alone.

knowing that (if i were to choose to do so) at any given moment there's a grip of birds that i could text who would be down is kind of comforting. it's also entertaining when i'm inebriated... i tend to attempt to offend them by concocting awful scenarios/things that i could inflict upon them. though, this has led to one idiot girl hounding my best friend and i to come "eiffel tower" her. you'd be surprised how many girls love really vile shit. or maybe i'm just that awesome. (i am that awesome).

i was on it for a while.... It helped.... but my doctor acted like it was going to make me a real happy-go-lucky individual. It didn't. It just made my "attacks/episodes" a little bit less severe, and I tended to get over them a little quicker. Really, it just caused me to not think about offing myself every couple of hours. Probably the best anti-depressant I've been on thus far though. I'm going to change over to Wellbutrin soon. Everything I've read about it seems to be alright. Fuck Lexapro. I also need to get on Xanax or something.
