    Polar Vortex 2021

I feel for you Texans, making deliveries in the streets of Chicago was a real struggle on the lake front. We got 18" of snow in some places. Got my semi truck stuck a few times but nothing I couldn't get out of with my trusty old shovel. I was hoping to spend the day in the office, but crappy weather usually fucks up any plans of having an easy day at work.
  2. Probably is, if not they'll start using this method for contact tracing
  3. I thought my washer was clogged up and thats why it wouldn't pump out the dirty water. After siphoning out all the trash water (tastes like malort) I started digging into this POS. Ended up being a broken connection on the water pump. But what a fuckin mess. Glad it's over with
  4. up bum no baby..........ahhahahhahahhah
  5. it's freezing balls outside so I'm trying not to leave my house for nothing, cancelled my SB plans to hang out with friends. So i'm making some mashed potato's and fuccckkkkkk. the lid just blew off the pot, son of a bitch. figures as soon as I checked on them and I turned my back boiling water started spilling over the side
  6. I don't see "pee in the Butt" and WTF is Tromboning?
  7. I'd never buy a newer Jeep, they just don't feel like a Jeep to me. Same goes for newer trucks. I'd readily buy a newer truck if it was "just a truck", no bullshit touch screens and tailgate gimmicks, and I could service it myself without spending 10K on scanners and laptops to diagnose the issue. I think that's why you still see a lot of old ford, chevy, and dodge trucks on the road putting in work. gimmie one of these
  8. I've been a supervisor and ops manager at a few union shops in and around Chicago. The unions have their gives and takes depending on their jurisdiction of work. I delt mostly with the teamsters and laborers which always seem to be at each others throats on a jobsite. Not to mention negotiating CBAs is a major pain in the dick for both unions. IBEW and the carpenters I've never had a grievance filed against me. The only benefits I've noticed from using union labor is the manpower shows up on time and prepared to complete the scope of work. With non-union labor it's a shit show. Some of those guys look like they slept in an alley the previous night and smell like it to. My current employer has Teamsters and they are actually a decent group. I only have one trouble maker but dude just gets hurt on the job and milks it for everything. This guy took 4 weeks off because of a bad case of diarrhea 😆. But as long as the doctors keep writing up notes there's nothing we can do. You gotta play by the rules. The Local did pay for our company softball team which was cool. As far as job costs, obviously unions are gonna be more expensive. But that's all addressed in when you make the job estimate.
  9. I'm kinda thinking this whole situation might lead the SEC to require investors to hold onto stocks for a minimum amount of time before you can sell them or pay a penalty. Thus stabilizing the market and putting an end to conspiring market manipulation? I'm pretty sure I'm completely wrong, just a thought I had.
  10. This could become some new form of activist investing, let's see how this plays out
  11. Yeah what is up with the blue painters tape?
  12. it looks like the pipe is leaking and an electric cord is right on top of it
  13. I was looking at moving to Texas 5yrs ago, but ended up moving to northern Illinois instead. nothing against Texas, I love it down there and the people are legit, but I found a good deal on a hopuse and I'm not to far from my friends and family in Chicago. My Neighbors are cool as fuck, I'm not spending all my money "just to pay the bills", and I have a big ass garage. Honestly I can't stand Illinois politics, but Madigan is on his way out so hopefully we can get away from rubberstamp policies and get this state back on track.
  14. Back in the day I used to do a lot of residential moves as a contractor driving for a van line. Texas by far has some of the nicest people on earth, I used to joke with them about it because I used to say "the only reason your so down to earth is because everyone is packing heat in Texas". They would be like like "isn't everyone packing heat in Chicago?" Yeah you got me there lol Also it's the only place where the people we were moving actually helped out and on top of that we ended the day with some juicy steaks and good beer. They just get to work in that state. I just Hope the exodus from Cali doesn't ruin that old school Texas hospitality
  15. I guess the question we should be asking is what social media platforms are using our personal information for Targeted advertising? ways to keep an individual engaged on social media? The beginning of a social credit system? Is Tupac still alive?
  16. I never got into the whole social media thing. Long story short, when FB and Myspace where gaining popularity I was just getting started working in politics. When one of the older staff members and myself were having a conversation about the whole "social media movement", and its gives and takes. He pretty much told me to stay away from it at all costs for a variety of reasons, so I did and I don't regret it. 12oz is the exception for me, and that's because I like the people here I'll have been a member here for 20yrs this October (yeah I had to look that up), not that I expect anyone to give a shit but I believe that speaks volumes for the people past and present I've had conversations with on this site
  17. I spy a blurred out Tapatio hot sauce bottle in the fridge
  18. I was a couch potato all day. I don't even want to take the garbage out
  19. I literally bought operation doomsday because I liked the cover back in the day. At one point a fellow DJ offered me $300 for it because it was out of print and hard to find. R.I.P. MF
