  1. joker i just got a pair of the 303's got them used from a freind. and i must say the are worth every penny. ride extreamly smooth and are really light. If you have the cash and want a sold race wheel set they are your best bet. they make you climb better too. haha
  2. now that's some balla ride there. training is going good for me. im feeling extreamly strong. I think it's from the weight training. it was 70 today WTF! it' was snowing on sunday. but im not complianing. first race is coming up march 5th
  3. hmm my training right now consists of very long tempo sets (40-50min, cad. of 70-75 and HR 154-157). The wieghts have stayed the same nothing too hard legs on monday and fridays. Tomorrow i have two, 20 min. muscle tension workouts (cad. 55-60) but it's up hill in the biggest gear you can do it in, HR doesn't really matter that much you don't want it that high it's mainly to increase strength. and the long rides on sundays. 3-4 hours. the weather has been kinda doable here. im getting out there and doind 2.5 hour rides in the 25 degree weather helps when you have someone to ride with. this week i'll have around 13-14 hours
  4. all i have to say it is that today it was 70 and sunny i road in shorts and a jersey i was actually sweating it was amazing think i got a little tan too... anyways i hope the winter training is going well for every one. joker i saw the weather in portland was cold and mixed snow rain hope youre having fun. : )
  5. im sick of mud! i still think i have some stuck in my eyes. thanks to joker for coming out and cheering me on. the weekend didn't go as well as i had hoped but you can only learn from going and racing at this level. There is always next year http://www.cyclocrossworld.com/pics/2003/2003_nationals/elite_men/410F9248_marc_gullickson.jpg'> go to www.cyclocrossworld.com they have a few pictures if you want to see just how bad the mud was.

  13. hahahh that's speedo dude is great... i'd rock like that
  14. good to hear your on the new team... yeah the whole having a coach i think is great b/c i don't really know how to do all this training properaly and if im putting so much time into it then i dont' want to waist my time but yes as far as i know i am going to nationals as long as the exams don't get in the way. you should get a cross bike and race instead of watch... you get hooked after just one use to so be carefull
  15. What's going on.... where has everyone been i did my first CYCLOCROSS race of the season on sunday!!! oh fuck yeah.. well it was in allentown PA (5hour drive for me) well worth it tho finished up 7th in the race out of 35 or so. had a crappy start and fought my way back up the front over 3 laps then found myself battling it out with two other guys for the last 7 laps... and on the final hill a guy attacked i countered and passed him but the other guy cut me off in the corner and squezzed by and out sprinted me to the line.... the guy that beat me was Gunner shogrenn the 40-45 national champion.. he's a beast.. i feel so good.. im so happy with the fitness level and it's going to be a good season.. steve, dibs or anyone else... anyone doing cross or riding for that matter..
  16. as of right now iam all set on going the only reason i wouldn't go would be if one of my professors wont let me change one of my finals around. they are dec. 12th-14th... go to cyclocrossworld.com they have a little write up on it
  17. i did a 40K time trail today... did okay road a 58:10 but the only shitty part was that my dad beat me by 5 seconds... i'll never hear the end of it
  18. ah shit...that's funny... so.. cyclocross nationals are being held in portland OR. does anyone live near there...
  19. i think i may be starting to burn out alittle.. im just really worried about the cross season... since march i have done 23 ( i think) races and since mid may when i got my new bike computer ive put around 2,500 mile in... ive been riding alot and i feel strong as hell but my mind is just loosing the flame a little... im only doind 4 more races for the road season and then i get no break and i head right into the cross season.. i hope i make it alright count me in for the jersey or t-shirt whatever
  20. you guys are making me afraid to go and ride my bike
  21. ah... i hate to hear that man.. hope the recovery goes welll for you i just finished watching todays stage, it was amazing im still in awe race for me tomorrow
  22. haha lance busted out some cross skills today, he's so lucky he didn't go down
  23. THE TOUR HAS STARTED!!!! THE TOUR HAS STARTED!!! all i have to say is poor hamilton... he's having an awesome year only to crash on the first stage.. dude has some huge balls still staying the race with a broken collerbone..
  24. if anyone gets the chance and wants to race in an increadibly competitive race go to the fitchburg stage race. it is increadible well i'll give breaf reports of the race... 4 days of racing. thursay. 7.8 mile time trail. i felt pretty good i may of been able to go a bit faster but i was pleased with my time 18:35, 31 place after everyone went. i was only a minute 22 off from the leaders. pretty happy, oh there were 125 guys in the cat. 3's friday. 31.4 mile ciruit race. 3.4 mile loop with one hell of a wall that hurt after goingup it 10 times. on the first lap i crashed me and some dude locked handlebars and we both went down but the bike and i were fine and i just back on and chased like a mad man for a lap and half and got back in the pack. since the G.C. is based on time i just sat in the pack stayed near the front so i didn't crash again and finished with the same time as everyone else, but i moved up 3 spots to 28th in the G.C. saturday, 70mile road race with a mountain top finish.. it was an 11 mile loop with a nice flat section but tons of climbing i'd say a good 3 mile or so of the loop was heave false flats to steady 8% grade and after the 6 laps we did we branched off and had a 3K or so climb. fairly steep but nothing i havne't seen before in VA again i just stayed close to the front and saved my energy for the final climb. two guys go off the front and stayed off till we caught them at the base of the climb going inot the final climb i felt really good but i had a shitty place in the pack going into it so i had to fight like hell to get up the front and never really got up there. the climb wasn't long nor hard enough for me i really need something a good 2K longer i still did well i was only a minute and 2 seconds off the leader and finished in 28th spot for the day. but in the over all GC. i moved up to 21 position.. really happy with that the final day was the crit.. 27 laps .9 mile course with 3 turns long false flat and a fast slight down hill.. for me the goal for today was just to not lose my place in the over all classification so that was i did i just hung in the middle of the pack and tried to stay on. and finished with the same time as everyone else in the end i was 2:25 off from the leader and sat comfortably in 20th place over all in the GC. i must say for my first stage race i fell in love. i could drop school everything else and just race my bicycle, what a life that would be
  25. ive been thinking the same thing.. i can't wait
