I vaguely remember going to Waterville on a ski-vacation once. I think I had some wickid white hot chocolate there....

I SUCKED out in GS (slalom was even worse for me). The only discipline I excelled at was super G, and Downhill. Neither of which you can do on the (itty bitty) hills around here. I did go all the way across the country to Whistler to race in a few Downhills, and did a few super G's as well. It was the most fun I'd ever had in a race. Downhill all the way. I miss it so much.

    We need a skiing/snowboarding thread.

not really. Mom and dad sold my racing skiis (all three pairs) and my racing boots, and I can't go back to softer boots, or skiis, and to buy skiis like my old ones is too much just for going recreational. Plus I didn't like skiing without a coach around to help me with my technique. I mean it was alright for the most part, but I kinda felt like a wanker. Last year I had a job that made me work weekends too. So no skiing then. I kinda took up snowboarding but haven't been able to do much of that either. Invite me to Tahoe and I'll teach you to ski :)

I think I need to take up a new activity.

I used to ski competitively, and a coach/team environment is the best thing for improvement. No matter how good you think you can get on your own, a coach will always point out flaws in your technique which can improve your time (or whatever you're going for). and as dibs pointed out above teammates are helpful as well. It's kind of sad now, but I don't know what to do with myself without a coach.

just curious seeing as I know next to nothing about these things, but about how long would a bike like that be usable?
