With all due respect to those who say, "With all due respect," the phrase has been named one of the most irritating clichés in the English language.
Other abused and overused phrases cited by the Plain English Campaign include "at this moment in time," <span style='color:orangered'>"pushing the envelope," "thinking outside the box,"</span> "to be perfectly honest" and "it's not rocket science."
"When readers or listeners come across these tired expressions, they start tuning out and completely miss the message - assuming there is one," said Plain English spokesman John Lister.
