I hit a seagull on my way to work today, fucker flew right into my bars and headtube, feathers everywhere, I was laughing for like two blocks.

If you want a decent bike definatly try ebay. Or if you are in a city, ask some messengers if they know of any bikes for sale. Whatever you do dont buy the Bianchi Pista or Fuji track bike. Those things are like complete decks(nash, veriflex, etc.); and everyone has them. For the upwards of 600$ you pay for one of those pieces of crap you can build yourself a custom rig with the parts you want. Uniqueness is alot of the fun of having a track bike, and the countless people that ask you, "how do you stop that thing?" If you are just learning how to ride a fix dont bother building yourself the pimp ride, just go for the simple shit and work your way up, but if you have the cash, build the money bike right away so you dont have to keep putting cash into it, even though you still will. Ps. If you are a little guy there is a 50 pogliaghi track bike on ebay right now thats pretty nice for 450$

I heard from a couple transplanted Boston kids that the drivers in Frisco are worse. Question, whats up with the whole straight or riser bar fixie thing in boston, these guys are all about it but i dont get it. And try riding down a steep ass hill on a fix with no brakes in the rain. Slip sliding away..... And Boston has streetcars too so I wont say anything about drivers purposely steering you into the rail. Thats always fun.

I want to do all Campy, but $$$ is an issue. I have a set of Rolf wheels that are going on it for sure. Cant decide on single speed or gears... If I go with gears I can use the rolfs so thats a plus. I will post flicks as the project continues.... kinda like "this old bike".... Bob Jewish..ha

Aww, cmon, they arent that bad. I learned to ride fix in a week on them with no brakes. My freind said that same thing, "but I wanna cruise down hills". But he found himself taking the brake off in two weeks, just as I had predicted.

Wack. Its an Inspector Gadget bike. Look at all those gadgets. Disc brakes, shock? Who needs that shit in a city? Simplicity is key. But that is just my opinion. I ride a track bike so my ride is as simple as it gets, the only gadget I have is a fender because its raining now, but as soon as it stops that fucker goes on the shelf.
