first of all don't go to houston. That city is a total shit hole since hurricane katrina and the traffic is terrible 24 hours a day. not to mention its 5 hours from dallas. fort worth has some of the best art museums and galleries in texas. Dallas also has some cool gallery spots. The bar scene is kinda shitty but there are some cool ones in deep ellum. food wise dave's steak and chops is one of the best steak houses period but its pricey. love and war in texas is a good rest. with just about everything on the menu being really good at a reasonable price. lots of cool theatres that show offbeat films or nonhollywood productions and usually you can buy booze in the theatre. Fishing on the north side of lake lewisville has been great since a plane crashed on the other end. good weed is hard to come by and the shit you can find is usually overpriced. You should also take the advice of the gentleman above and drink some lone star and eat bbq. and if you just really need to get some all the hookers are off harry hines blvd.
