you see, in america, we think that painting walls and being a dickhead go hand in hand. its different over there. you can be a writer without being a dickhead, and you can be a GREAT writer while not being a GREAT dickhead.
no one would disagree that 99% of american writers are dickheads. we assume that everyone else is a dickhead too. bates, on the other hand, comes here to america and paints with us. you should be thanking him for that, not asking questions about his ego. i wish more european writers ould come over here and show us that is okay not to be a dickhead.
