  1. This is kinda hard since most these brands are small and exclusive, thus avoiding a heavy presence, especially online. Regardless, you can check out the 45rpm website here... http://www.45rpm.jp/denim/index.jsp
  2. Obviously Levi's is a classic you can't knock, but if you see the way a pair of Japanese selvedge that have been hand died using natural indigo pigment wear over time, it's hard not to fall in love with them. Granted Levi's get a personality of their own after rocking them for a few years, naturally died selvedge have personality right from the start (without all the need for the artificially created whisking and treatments). Anyhow, to each their own I guess...
  3. heard about that interview. if you see it posted online, copy/paste it into a thread on here.
  4. that fact instantly turned me off. of all the companies to jump into bed with, why pick reebok? granted some of the others maybe a bit of a 'has been', but reebok is simply a 'never was'. And how does Nigo get away with ripping off Nike, collaborating with Adidas, and then dropping product backed by Reebok? More props to him for pulling it off, but damn...
  5. I live close to the store and know a few people, so I've never had to go the mark up route on the Supreme gear. As far as I'm concerned if there's anything worth dropping loot on, its denim. Shit lasts years if you take good care of it. And good denim actually gets better with age. I usually get 2 - 3 pairs a year, maybe more if I get a good deal. If you happen to be in or around NYC, go check out the 45rpm store in Soho. Their denim is a work of art.
  6. anyone know what exactly Nigo's involvement is?
  7. no, Supreme t-shirts are $24 when you get them at the store. I was referring to Rpgan and PRPS.
  8. Anyone else into high-end denim (japanese and domestic selvedge). Personally I'd down to throw down a grip on nice denim, but the prices Rogan and PRPS is asking these days seems like a stretch. Seems like last year, they broke past the $200 barrier by going from $180 to $220. Today I was checking out Union NYC and now Rogans are all at $240 - $290 and the same exact denim PRPS was pushing last season for $240 is now $290. Granted PRPS is doing some nice stuff despit me still not being a fan of the short wide cut, but that seems awfully high even for a niche brand doing japanese selvedge. Granted I've dropped $450 for a pair of 45rpm's that were too sick to pass on, I don't think I'm willing to pay those kids of prices for domestic brands even if the denim is imported, or especially for domestic denim. Any one else into premium denim kinda turned off by this? On a similar note, what's up with all the companies also asking $50 - $65 for simple t-shirts?!
  9. the pair with the dice are the first pair i've seen that look half decent. also been seeing them around NY for $180 - $280.

you should bookmark the LO-FI link at the bottom of the board. Shit loads fast on the sidekick.
  11. paid subscriptions isnt quite set up yet.
  12. Granted I still like most of what I see from Nigo/Bape, I just can't bring myself to appreciate his collab with Pharell on the whole BBC/Ice Cream tip. As a matter of fact I couldn't bring myself to appreciate all the new Bape rhine stone tees either (especially fro the prices they're getting for them). Anyhow, thought I'd pipe in and see what anyone had to say about it... Here's a link to a batch of product: http://myweb.ncku.edu.tw/~c3490103/nowhere/icecreamjp.htm
  13. I've created this after seeing what big poppa k said in another thread. thought it might be a good idea to start a thread so as you guys discover new features, you can point them out and explain them here. I'd do it myself, but I'm too tired. Anyhow, there's a ton of cool stuff, so the sooner you learn about them, the sooner you can have fun with them.
  14. post a screengrab along with browser/os info.
  15. I dont know what the 'snapback' is in the code.... but It sounds like my next xtreme hammock trick!!!! Quoted post [/b] its the small orange button inside a quoted reply that allows you to snap back to the original post being quoted.
  16. having a username and password to login with.
  17. yes, all threads and member info will be imported into the new board. you will have to re-set your cookie information by re-logging into your account before you'll be able to access anything.
  18. there will be some options to allow for this, however as you've said space consumption (and bandwidth) will be insane. This said, we'll only be giving a small space to regular members, with an option to upgrade to a premium account that would obviously cost a few bucks and include some extra's (including a larger attachment quota).
  19. surprised it took this long for people to notice the announcement. guess people really don't read those things. anyhow, yeah there's lots of changes coming so brace yourself. the boards have been re-created from the ground up. kinda funny that the new site has actually been up for a long while as I've been working on it. however, there's no dns entry so you need to hit it by IP or modify your computers hosts file to see it. free box of goodies from 4thw if you can find it. (no help from the mods or anyone else in the know)
  20. as stated earlier, we got very close to releasing issue 2 of theVapors Project. I scrapped just before starting prepress and in fact there were 2 different postcards, a poster, and t-shirts that had been printed before I could put the breaks on everything. The t-shirts (there really werent that many) have been steadily given away with orders from 4thw. The posters are sitting in storage, and the postcards were supposed to have been scrapped. It's possible somebody got confused and mixed them up with some of the other material we pack with orders. If so it was a mistake and shouldn't have happened. it's my belief that people will be far more excited by the project we replaced theVapors with than anything we could have done with a sequal.
  21. to be honest this is a long story that I really dont have the energy to go too deep into. I chose to abandon theVapors after lots of consideration and for various reasons. Some of it had to do with the fact that while we were on a hiatus, another person/crew blew up the name with their own project which caused all kinds of confusion and diluted our brand. Most of it, however, had to do with my opinions on the direction of the project itself. Putting out mags has always been something I did for the challenge and fun of it. Although it never will be (in my opinion) something that will make any kind of significant money, it's not to say that the business model doesnt need to at least justify itself when you consider how expensive a project like that is to produce, and can't simply fund it out of pocket indefinately. After carefully rethinking theVapors Project, I came to conclusion that it wasn't worth pursuing any longer. I actually had an 84 page issue completely designed and ready for press, but scrapped the entire thing after realizing it wasn't breaking ground the way I felt previous projects had, and overall, didn't reflect the same passion I felt my other projects had. I think that the world/culture is a much different place than it was in the mid-90's when 12ozProphet was in full swing. Therefore, the same formula for success (whether personal or financial), no longer applies. Instead I took a step back for a while and conceptualized a project that better reflects where my head/tastes are these days, and developed a much more ambitious plan that I'm having far more fun (and challenged) trying to develop. Hopefully you guys will see the results of these efforts sometime relatively soon. But until I can afford to concentrate on them full time, as well as hire a staff to assist me, you'll just have to settle for waiting patiently, or moving on to something else. As far as the mailorder, we do the best we can with what we have. To date, virtually all orders have gone out the same business day, or at worst the next business day. To the best of knowledge, every issue has been resolved quickly and professionally. Further, without exception, every order has been laced up with all kinds of goodies including in some cases, free shirts, videos, and cd's. I believe that our prices are competitive, and have yet to see any reputable mailorder really undercutting us on anything, let alone our cap prices. Sure, I'd love to have more product on there, but fact is there's not a lot of good product dropping that isn't already easily available somewhere else, and as stated earlier, we've been pretty busy juggling a bunch of other stuff simultaneously. That and the fact that it's a pretty small crew running the operation and most of them are also busy helping out with other projects. There is a planned update for the store, as well as a couple new products in the works including some new 12oz shirts. But at the end of the day, the only purpose for http://www.fourthehardway.com is to help offset the cost of maintaing this site. If it could even get that far (which it hasn't), then I'll look into hiring more people so that maybe we can get these projects into your hands a little quicker. Oh and as far as printing postcards and stickers that we give away... Most of those are done through the generous contributions of a close friend at http://www.clubflyers.com. P.S. No, I won't go into further detail about whats in the works. When we're ready, we'll let you know.
  22. for those into the collectable stuff, i came across this just now... http://freshnessmag.com/content/features/f...cope2/index.php
  23. I'd expect two of them for that price. Shit's severely over priced.
