  1. that's what I'm saying. I paid $30 for 100 at Scrap Yard last time I was out there just cause I needed a stash right quick.
  2. Another thing... Now that people have begun ordering, I'm sure pretty soon ,many of them will come back and start posting about how it went. In fact, I encourage you to do so. Like the design, and the product, the service is all top notch. I truly doubt there's any other mailorder putting in the effort that Four The Hard Way is. Raising the bar has been the cornerstone of what we've strived for since day one in everything we do. It took a lot of people, time, and effort to make that shop happen, so go have a look. If you like something you see, spend a couple bucks on it. As stated earlier you're completely covered, but I guarantee personally you'll be very pleased or your money back. And meanwhile you'll be supporting this site and all the other projects we're working hard to bring to light.
  3. We beta tested this thing for about a month by having all those involved invite a small trusted group of people they know (about 30 in total) to register and play with the site, so we could tweak it, work out kinks, as well as get ideas for what worked and what didn't. That's actually where the review feature and dropdown navigation ideas came from, as well as a couple other touches. Once the shop was feature complete and operating, we then invited them back along with a couple more people to check it out again, as well as shop. During the second test, they were able to purchase items and add reviews. Perhaps the reviews are biased because they were friends and also invited guests, but there was certainly no padding or coercing on our part. They wrote what they wanted, and as Beardo basically said, it's all great product what's bad to say about it? Regardless, it's live and all of you are invited to throw in your two cents. Obviously unappropriate reviews and flames will be deleted, but if you hate the quality of something we stock, no one's going to keep you from voicing your opnion about it. That's why it's there.
  4. Damn, tell me where I can get a deal like that and maybe I'll start buying from them. Fact is those things are dumb expensive right off the bat. Then when you consider shipping from Europe, the price goes through the roof. To the best of my knowledge our prices are very competitive with the going rate. We're not trying to be 'Crazy Eddy's Blowout Bonanza' and blow all the other suppliers out the water. Just a real solid supplier, offering premium goods at a very fair price, fast fulfillment and shipping, from a website second to none. And we're just getting started...
  5. actually, give me a call... I got something to run by you. you guys check out how you can post reviews? If you don't have the scratch to order, at least register and post a couple reviews if you're familiar with any of the stuff.
  6. 1. If it doesnt show up you dispute it with the credit card company. you get credited back the minute you file the complaint. if you're proven wrong it gets recharged 30 - 60 days later. 2. Our servers are kept on a private linux based network. credit card info isnt even stored on site, but rather gets processed approved, and deleted. once processed, your info is stored encrypted using 128 bit fractal encryption and very few people have access to it. Because we keep our lists combined, that means your name is one out of about 650,000. the only paperwork is what we send you. Admittedly a digital file exists, but it take a hell of a court order to get it. If you do enough damage that they want you, you'll be raided a hundred times over before they manage to raid us, and in the end its a freakin marker at worst. 3. http://www.visa.com
  7. sure. they give out lots of stuff and I'm sure they'd be happy to give out your zines. contact them though. I'm really not involved in the details of daily operation, only the big picture.
  8. sorry didn't mean to seem like it was directed at you. i know where you were coming from, it just sparked the idea in my head and reminded me of all the fraud we used to get before. thankfully, mailorder and especially online sales have come a long way leavng us with ways to protect against it. that way we dont get jerked and neither do you. ;)
  9. we're looking into the buckles, but they were always a hard item to stock since some letters run out and the company was unreliable about pressing more. we got a ton of new product we're working on, much of it our own stuff, so stay tuned. much of the stuff will be first come, first served and in limited supply since the whole site works in realtime. basically everything in the sweatshop section is pretty scarce so get it while you can. if there's anything you want and dont see, shoot them an email at service@fourthehardway.com or post it here and i'll forward a link. who knows, maybe you'll see it in stock sometime soon. anyhow, thanks again for all the cool comments. also thanks for supporting this site by shopping at www.fourthehardway.com
  10. out of curiosity, how many of you guys use Paypal? We were considering adding that as a payment method after a recommendation, so if that's something people would use, maybe we can add it.
  11. And please believe that any kinda credit card fraud won't be tolerated. We'll protect your interests, but we will go far and wide to protect ours, so it WILL NOT be worth your while guaranteed. I'm not directing this at anyone in particular, just letting people know ahead of time so they don't get stupid.
  12. that's the plan, but there's no time frame for that yet.
  13. Thanks for all the kind words on the site. We put lots of effort into making it look good, as well as function smoothly. Not to mention plenty of features to go around including real time package tracking, product reviews, shipping estimator, etc. It's actually been up for about two weeks being beta tested by a select group of people we chose to play around, shop, and help work out any kinks, so it's all smooth sailing now... Anyhow, now that it's up we can focus on stocking it with product. Everything you see listed is available, unless specifically noted on the product page. Regardless, the inventory is all real time, so it won't sell you something out of stock - no backorders on anything. Not that you have anything to worry about either way, but credit card orders are insured by your bank, so no one has anything to risk. I give you my personal guarantee regardless... Obviously, by purchasing stuff at www.fourthehardway.com, you help support projects like this message board and other plans we have in the pipe, so our thanks ahead of time for spending your hard earned dough and supporting our cause. Until further notice, there's free shipping on all orders over $100. Plus free stuff with every order. It varies on order amount, but ranges from free stickers and magazines, to free shirts, CD's and video's. If you have any questions, read the FAQ cause most of it's been answered there.
  14. I'm going to ask a series of questions that will hopefully give me some ideas about how you guys connect. We're considering upgrading some of our hardware, so your input might help us streamline the process a bit. Anyhow, please take a moment and give a few quick replies to the following questions... 1. Do you connect via BROADBAND (DSL, Cable, T1) or by MODEM (56k or less) 2. Where do you connect from most? Home, Work, School? 3. Do you generally use webmail (Yahoo, Hotmail, etc) or POP3 email (Regular type emails - Outlook, Entourage, etc), or both?
  15. Got inDesign, but I need Quark Xpress. I'm working on it now, but it's been unreliable all morning.
  16. Looking for both, especially Quark Xpress. If anyone wants toi help a brother out with a disk image or .dmg of either, you'll earn my eternal gratitude. Email me at raven@12ozprophet.com or let me know here. Thanks.
  17. when you get back, copy them back onto the camera, plug the camera into the mac. might take a bunch of times to get them all transferred over, but it's the simplest way. if the mac is running os x, it'll auto mount the camera with no additional software or configuration.
  18. It's official - 1 million posts! Rolled over at 12:04 am
  19. Heads up... Any more pornstar guru links will get you banned immediately. Same goes for any other similar type misleading links. Further, anymore "First" posts will get you the same if I happen to catch them.
  20. from a flyer we're doing for him. dalek lives up the street from me.
  21. Here's the first monitor of desktop on the computer I use primarily...
  22. this debate is tired and only leads to flaming. their doing their thing over there, as we do ours over here. i'm glad people enjoy this board, but diversity is a good thing so appreciate the fact that you guys have choices.
