Not quite bored but restless and I wanted to do something so Headed out the door Went north. Nice to see the lake back up. Stopped to take a piss and managed to draw a cop. Talked shit 1975 style and crossed into Oregon Stopped for supplies I forgot you don't pump your own gas in Oregon so this dude got a reflex "Hey motherfucker" Got to Brookings went on some 'Quest fo the western oracle, the animals will help' type trip. This had some Menendez Brothers/Less Than Zero vibe. Turns out it was just hippies Scouting locations for a Christian Boy Band album cover? lighter for scale What was the point? I just wanted to do this.

glad I was able to see some of these signs when they were up and in action. Grateful to connect with them in this manner just a few months before moving out of Vegas. these were all shot with my Nikon D 3100 with a $19 wide angle lens adapter i could also probably stand to edit some photos but these have no edit. I believe this was the face for Treasure Island Hotel and casino. (Last I knew it was TI) and the whole pirate theme went out the window. I think. I have an old shot of this when they were setting it to this location. Had no idea at the time what was going on. I’ll have to dig it up.

I am renaming images in my freight trains folder as a first step to organising and culling photos. I have over 150 gig of pics that have been taken over the years and I'm sure i have 30+ shots of some pieces so it's helping me to delete the bodgy ones. trying to do 50+ each day but not always succeeding. putting off cleaning up the house

We did no camping this year. butbi am rolling 40 hrs of vacation time over into next year so hopefully I can make it hapn im just gonna roll this thread out with places I’ve been and things I’ve seen ive done three cross country (back and forth) drives, go to a museum and a gallery occasionally and this is the thread ima run that in. as we continue down towards Las Vegas. As much as we want to check out all the towns along the 95 -we really just wanted to get to our destination. But we stopped for a few quick stops. just flat made me wonder how long it’s been since I’ve had a tetanus shot sand dunes much excite FullSizeRender.mov I’m already miserable but first things first. and later on… next morning was planned for ‘exploring’ an abandoned casino construction site. was a hot spot literally and figuratively so I opt for the ole “I’ll drop you guys off and roll back in a few hours” so naturally… but the dude in front of me had this in his window. Disturbing. I’m pretty sure they have died from heat exhaustion This boy got fat

I nail down 2 more promising looking places that won’t set us too far off of the route; one more than the other. One would keep us closer and allow us to be able to check out one more spot before we land. Reviews prepare us for a 6 mile dirt road that is sandy and washboard-y-to a spot that has no designated campsites and only offers a vault toilet. We’re game. Let’s plan two nights here just to sit the fuck still for a day. We have food water (but the time ‘we got there we looked at eachother and said-we should have brought more water’. (6 gallons) But if worse came to worse we pack up and go. It took almost 30-40 min to travel that 6 mile dirt road. we stop at some abandoned type town on the way and gather some wood for small fire. We know we won’t need wood for heat type of fire. We enter wild cow area. IMG_5054.MOV we start to see some green patches and knew there was some type of water nearby then we find it. Two large ponds and a tub full of mineral water, In the middle of the fucking desert, surrounded by tall grass A steam ran down to across the street (near the drive that enters this area) It feed another marshy area across the street and down the way -where we noticed a dozen or so cows and babies eating on the tall grass. You can see they come around these springs with some old hoof tracks and cow shit occasionally. the cows roamed back into the field and outta sight so I went to check out the stream below while he worked on his idea to get us shade for the next day. There wasn’t a tree in sight there were bull frogs in this stream. It was awesome these are what the cows were eating. Mounds of tall grass that dried over. it was near to see the different plant species in this boggy area I only had my phone so it’s not the best pic-but there was a kookaburra mounted on some grass ( in the center of the pic) he backed the car up near this old tank that was once used to help control overflow of these ponds. he managed to secure the tarp from above so we put our tent under that. I set up tent. He works on fire. High rock and deep well with small rocks inside to guard from wind and make a spot for some good hot rocks to cook on.
