  1. I was painting an exterior today and dropped my phone from scaffolding 25 ft up. RIP Android. So I go to Verizon today and apparently there is some kind of phone shortage crisis. Long story short I have a fucking iPhone now. I haven’t had an iPhone in over 10 years. I can’t import any of my Android contacts cuz that jank died from internal bleeding. I’ve lost every business contact I’ve made over the past 8 years. They have been replaced with old drug clientele. All signs are pointing to go back to selling drugs.

  2. They're a trap. You should make a thread about how the addiction started. Might help out some younger members.

  3. @Mercerbelieve it or not, a lot of my construction knowledge has been years of trial and error. The chop saw is my favorite tool. It’s hella versatile and a lot of fun. As long as you are willing to burn up a pile of material learning what works and what doesn’t without getting mad about the wasted material, the process can be fun and rewarding. I’ll take a picture of the first sill I did. Lol it’s jacked the fuck up and installed in a closet.

  4. Go get yourself some Kratom and try to stay away from suboxone. Plenty of people who get addicted to that shit, too. You should be able to find it at a local head shop. You've got this. Just don't go back to that poison.

  5. First things first: Do all of your shimming off camera. Its boring. Next step is to install your top jamb piece. Like so Next you need to cut and measure your side jamb pieces. If you cut them a hair long they will lock in the top and bottom pieces tight. Careful when cutting through knots. They will come loose and fall out. Side note: This is why I hate Home Depot and Lowes. Here is a side by side comparison of clear pine from a lumber yard and what ever lowes has to offer on the right. The inferior corporate conglomerate wood was more expensive. I could have bought clear pine from Lowes but it was $10 a linear foot. If you dont know about pine prices... thats fucking outrageous. Anywho. Luckily that little knot didnt go all the way through the board and I was able to hide the chunk out on the back side. Those side jambs above are pretty tight. The one on the right top could be a little better but "caulk and paint will make you the carpenter you aint!" -some dick head painter on the job when caulk was invented Step next: Measure from the outside of your left jamb to the outside of your right jamb since both sides of my jambs are 3/4" thick and I want 1/4" reveal on both sides I subtract 1 inch from the total measurement. This number is the 2 short points on the trim. In order to find the long points you need to know how wide your trim is. Mines is 3 1/2". Oddly enough you just multiply the width of your trim by 2 (7" for me) and add that to your overall length. I make marks on my jamb for my 1/4" reveal It helps me line up my first piece. When I put that first piece up i only shoot one nail in the middle that way you can adjust the left or right up and down a hair if need be when installing your side legs. measure cut install your side legs and try not to nail at an angle to keep your nails from hooking out the face of your jamb. next up is the skirt trim. This ones easy. Pull your tape from the outside of your legs to get your measurement. Stand your trim upright. Cut the ends at 45° angles. The face of your trim should be longer than the back. The long points will be your measurement you took. Install. When cutting your returns its easy to get screwed up if youre just going at it. So an easy trick to remember is if you are cutting a return for the right side of your window trim, you cut from the right side of your trim and turn your saw to the left (45°) And thats a window

  6. @KaneVCB- They are pages from a book called - Flip the Script: A Guidebook for Aspiring Vandals & Typographers. It's an incredible book because it covers handstyles from all major cities, and includes examples by some of the best from each region. Also, Handselecta (folks who put the book together) have a YouTube channel with a ton of videos that show folks writing their name. Great way to see how some of these handstyles are done. I had no idea the book was worth so much. I guess I better put mine in a display case.

  7. Agreed. These days with youtube, I'm pretty much game for almost any project and feel like trial and error fuckups are way cheaper than paying someone else to do it. Just saved 20k alone on a backyard project which is nearing completion this weekend hopefully. Only one massive fuckup, from a retarded dump truck driver but their boss agreed to make it right. Dude ran over my newly installed drain trying to dump stone in my yard, after I told him to dump it in either the driveway. Now I have to dig that shit back up and reinstall a new one, which is fucking up my deadlines with equipment rentals.

  8. Those trim cuts are spank materiel. I'd definitely struggle especially if you're using shims. Have my first compound miter saw now. Haven't done anything tricky (yet) with it, more or less just using it as a chop saw. Once I'm done with my yard project I'll be doing some interior work, much more carpentry required.

  12. I've been thinking about this push for new rules and more structure a lot and I think I have a solution. I think that everyone is overthinking this and a ground base of rules need to be set, but it needs to be basic. No Racism No Doxxing Arguments should be moderated by level headed members (I'll expand on this) and if not resolved should be taken to PM by request of a moderator or by force of a moderator (moderation actions) No pirated materials No spam. Expansion of "arguments"- We're the adults now. We should be setting examples for the younger members. The older members should be taking lead on moderating (without the mod tools). Moderators should be second line, and Admin third and final line (it should never come to this step). Just having a political section invites the Karens we don't want. I enjoyed it once upon a time when I was argumentative and hard headed, but those days are over. All of us still like to have fun and break balls. That is part of what 12oz has always been, part of graffiti culture, and part of life. Adding too many rules could have an opposite affect and smother the site instead of building upon it. Don't overcomplicate things. KISS.

  13. I have continued to lift 3-4 times weekly. Not much cardio going on outside of BJJ. Still fasting daily 13-16 hours.... I actually gained about 5-10 lbs last month but people have continued to ask if I am losing weight. I am thinking the added muscle from weight lifting and also hoping that lifting will burn fat.

  14. Correct, if there's zero demand for a currency to purchase goods, and services, then it's not an actual currency. Zero being the key word in that statement. There is in fact, an international economy in which Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies can be used to purchase goods and services. This has been since May 22nd 2010 (Bitcoin Pizza Day) a sort of crypto nerd holiday used to celebrate Bitcoins transition into an actual currency. Right now, you can buy goods and services direct, even from large mainstream corporations like Overstock, AT&T, etc. and the list keeps growing. 12ozProphet itself accepted cryptocurrency exclusively for a single collectible good back in 2016/2017. You can also buy, or sell goods and services directly from other individuals on Craig's List under the "for sale" section by checking the "cryptocurrency OK" check box. Fact is, in modern first world countries with "somewhat stable" inflation like the U.S., there are very few use cases for alternate currencies outside of the countries' national currency. Even widely acknowledged currency like gold & silver coins are most often bought and sold as goods, almost exclusively for their countries national currency, as opposed to exchanged for goods and services making them more of a financial asset (in most cases). This "financial asset" status accounts for most of cryptocurrencies transactions, but not all of them. The line between "financial asset", and "currency" becomes a gray area. If Bitcoin isn't a "currency", then how would you define it, and how would you explain it's use to purchase actual goods and service? You can't use stocks, bonds, dividends, and other financial assets to purchase goods directly. Fun fact, cryptocurrency is the #2 currency traded for actual goods and services in most 1st world countries including the United States. It's #3 in most 2nd & 3rd world countries where the U.S. Dollar is still the preferred alternate currency due to it's current advantage in liquidity. Basically, the U.S. dollar is still the "World Reserve Currency" meaning the most widely accepted currency worldwide. Bitcoin is slowly catching up to this status due to it's immutability, and resistance to seizure and sanctions. The first thing to understand about Economics, is there are different contradictory schools of economic thought. Most people into cryptocurrency including myself subscribe to the Austrian School. Although I'm unfamiliar with the lesson you're referencing, doubling the money supply to increase the number of transactions taking place isn't a theory subscribed to by any popular school, and isn't a good example of macro economic understanding. It's more of a justification for inflation in a microeconomic setting, where the currency is "indivisible" meaning it doesn't break down into smaller units, for smaller purchases. Bitcoin for example breaks down to a single "satoshi" basically 100 millionth of a bitcoin, in the current exchange rate that means a 1$ is worth 2,642 Satoshi's. Plenty of divisibility left. Most popular cryptocurrencies are also equally divisible into fractions of pennies. Inflation: A man named Maynard Keynes came up with Keynesianism, which is today's most widely adopted school of thought in the mainstream. It's core theory supports the government inflating the money supply at will. Thus, governments left the gold standard and adopted a currency type called "fiat" which is currency by official decree. In my opinion, those in charge of, and in support of governments power get a crack blast worth of confirmation bias by adopting Keynesianism, which expanded their power to decide who's rich, and who's poor. This explains why the number of USD in circulation have increased by 40% since the start of the pandemic. Most of this went to prop up stock, and other financial asset prices in a "Socialism for the rich" program. I mean, how are you going to continue to hold office if your campaign donors, and people funding those big super pacts are losing money? This is very accurate, borrowing money before inflation kicks in does make paying back debt easier. The only caveat to this is your wages/income numbers have to increase in proportion, or your other investments (like cryptocurrency), and real world assets increase to compensate. One can profit by buying a house on credit for half a million, letting inflation kick in, and selling the house for a million later, paying off the debt, then keeping the other half million for themselves. This is sort of helpful for homeowners looking to move out in the future, but if you want to move into another house, they will also increase in price defeating the purpose. You're not really getting ahead with the mortgage debt.unless rent somehow stays the same when you sold, or you move back into your parents basement and don't need the half a million you "profited" to purchase new housing. Inflation is most helpful for the wealthy holding investments assets that will increase in price in relation to currency. In reality, most people have zero, or very few investments (outside of a house they owe money on, rather than own) compared to their cash savings,. Every time a dollar is counterfeited out of thin air, this fucks anyone who saves up using dollars. Making matters even worse, most Americans work for a set wage/salary, or have a fixed income for retirement that doesn't automatically adjust for inflation. Making inflation (mostly) harmful in the big picture the further down the ladder of wealth that you look. According to the Austrian school (my preferred school of economic thought), the key to increased wealth, and prosperity is economic productivity. If more housing is being produced, if more goods and services are being produced, there's more actual wealth to go around. Money it's self is just a good that facilitates transactions. Money can be increased in supply for as little effort that it takes to print, or make up new electronic deposits from thin air going from the federal reserve into bank deposits. Inflating the money supply doesn't make the goods and services we buy with money any less scarce. It just means Banks can loan money at less interest which is what creates these boom, and bust cycles Austrians refer to as the business cycle. A period of poor investment since buying anything at low interest is a guaranteed win, followed by a bust, where reality catches up to this illusion, and causes an economic recession. One thing to keep in mind is it's much easier, and likely to devalue any minimum wage increase via inflation, than it is to get enough legislative consensus to increase the minimum wage. One would have to both limit inflation, and increase the minimum wage to have the desired effect most seek. Having a minimum wage itself is harmful, even for the unskilled workers relying on it in the big picture, for an entirely different set of reasons unrelated to cryptocurrency, and quite frankly takes way more typing than I'm willing to do after all of this. I have to get back to increasing my own economic prosperity for now.

  16. Really solid sci-if… Kind of an interesting take on sci-if and current events. https://www.amazon.com/Bright-Shore-Eden-Chronicles-Book-One-ebook/dp/B07B2DN68K A military Sci-Fi, technothriller set a short decade from now. Western Civilization has had its run. The West's own governments are giving up, have already lost, or are leading the charge to something else. This doesn't sit well with those who believe in liberty. This is the story of a people who have lost the political fight, lost the culture wars, haven't seen a level playing field in a generation, and are about to be made serfs. None of that matters. They're leaving... Fresh starts are never easy. This is the first book in a story about a new world, different enemies, and old luggage.

  18. Hey broski, i feeeel you. Ive been writing some ideas down myself. I had this idea of redoing some of Jackie Chan's work. I have some "storyboard" ideas for rumble in the bronx and mr. nice guy. I was watching Jackie Chan's movies and he has a very strong sense for action but the stories and writing are bullshit. I thought itd be rad to write a story revolving the premise of those old movies.

  19. Yo @glorydays just popping back in here to shoot the breeze man. Recently getting that bug all over again in a big way and actually started researching/jotting down loose ideas for something I’m really interested in working on. What’s going on in your land? Have you completed/done/started anything recently during stupid covid times??

  21. When I quite a long time ago, not smoking in the car was one of the hardest parts of it for me. When I drive, I smoke.... but now I am glad my car smells good, my headliner is still attached to the roof, there are no burns, there are no dusty ass ashes all over the dash, there is no tar film that fogs like a mf'r on the inside of my windshield glass, and I'm not distracted trying to drive while holding a little paper dick in my hand.

  27. Approaching one month of regular bodyweight workouts, getting stronger but plan on keeping progression slow and steady. Backpain last week was a little nervous making, I am not trying to have any injury. Thinking about throwing more running into the mix, something like every other day alternating with bodyweight days. Got a jump rope in the mail, now it is just looking at me while I figure out what to do with it.

  28. i have a fucking bunch. Did they sell? No. I learned that writers need to separate what they think is cool from what is marketable. You might have a baller ass idea, but if the money people think it won't sell or don't even understand what they're reading, then they'll just reject it. And let's say that you are just writing to write. The second thing i tell writers not to do is to turn into Mary-Sues'. Or, in other words, putting themselves into their own stories and making themselves invincible. That's like writing an 80's action movie dead sober....like no cocaine involved in the process. You'll turn into steven seagal. On the other hand, a good movie will always take years to develop. Ask any writer/director that has won any accolades or are considered the best (Get Out, Parasite, Uncut Gems) and you'll notice the same words coming out of their mouths: This movie took 10 years to make. I wrote a few myself. I like subcultures, so i usually base my screenplays off of stuff that i see or find interesting. Like a skate store owner turning into a mercenary, my own experiences with borderline personality disorder....that kind of thing.
