Among the worst things I’ve seen. The police department’s statement on the matter was salt in the wound. Even the revised version is bullshit.4 points

A full moon will take place on Friday night and with it, the "Strawberry Moon" will bring a penumbral lunar eclipse. The June full moon also happens to be the last full moon of spring, an occurrence that was named Strawberry Moon by the Algonquin tribes, according to NASA. The name comes from the relatively short season for harvesting strawberries in the northeastern United States. The Strawberry Moon will be close enough to opposite the sun that it will pass through part of the partial shadow of the Earth, causing an eclipse. During the eclipse, the moon will not be in the sky for most of the Americas, NASA says. The Moon will appear full for about three days, from early Thursday morning into early Sunday morning. The eclipse will be entirely visible in eastern Africa, the Middle East, southern Asia and Australia, according to Space.com. It will begin at 1:45 p.m. ET and lasts until 5:04 p.m. ET – about three hours and 18 minutes. The Strawberry Moon has also been called Mead Moon or the Honey Moon. The end of June was when honey was ripe and ready to be harvested, which made this the "sweetest" moon, according to some writings, NASA says. The tradition of calling the first month of marriage the "honeymoon" may be tied to this full moon – either because the "Honey Moon" is the "sweetest" moon of the year, or because getting married in June is a custom. Some consider this full Moon the Rose Moon, but other sources from Europeans and Native Americans also refer to it as the Flower Moon, Hot Moon, Hoe Moon, and Planting Moon, NASA says. Hindus also have traditions surrounding this lunar occurrence. During the three-day full moon, married women will show their love for their husbands by tying a ceremonial thread around a banyan tree, according to NASA. Buddhists call this full moon the Poson Poya. In Sri Lanka, the Poson holiday celebrates the introduction of Buddhism in 236 BCE. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/lunar-eclipse-and-strawberry-moon-how-to-watch-friday-night/#app3 points

Been seeing and feeling the moon since Wednesday night. If the skies clear up I can sleep in moonlight. Or dance with the devil in it.3 points

The takeaway is police were given a golden opportunity here because of the looting to get the general public on their side, by protecting the private property, and livelihoods of the general public. They failed miserably, and instead of cleaning up their image they’ve somehow made it look even worse. This concept is perfectly illustrated by this photo, a homeless man being shot in the face and not a damn thing being done about it by the other walking piles of human feces that witnessed this crime.3 points

I'm trying to find a light heart right now and am seriously struggling to do so, shit like this helps for a chuckle. “I couldn’t stand seeing myself every night, before sleepy time, wearing the badges and regalia of this fucked up establishment. I had to do something. I don’t give a fuck if they’re not real — all cops are bastards, all of them."2 points

How could you see anything but a completely callous attack on an old man? Imagine it was one of your grandparents, would you feel so indifferent?2 points
-
I would be surprised if this old guys survives, given the amount of blood coming from his ear. I would say that the cop may also have a date with the magistrate. I can't see this footage not enraging the nation.2 points

He was an old man. He posed zero physical threat to armed and armoured personnel. I don't think he expected a violent response, and neither should he have. Violence is not the only tool the police have to deal with people, especially those that are not threatening. Careful that you're not blaming the victim for something that he 100% did not deserve. He wasn't rioting, looting, etc. and now he's lying unconscious on the ground with his head cracked open. .2 points

Well guys, I'm bumping this thread because I'm doing something new soon for my profession. I'm entering into the consulting realm. This morning I submitted my resignation notice to my job that is secure and I'm in no danger of losing. Earlier this week I was made an offer I couldn't refuse so now I'm shaking my life up a little bit by switching jobs. I will be 100% remote for a San Francisco based medical technology company as their first Devops Engineer working directly for the CTO. I have never had a job handed to me like this before. The first interview I had was with the CEO (I didn't even know it was the CEO until the end of the call). I was very informally "interviewed" and they basically told me the job was mine if I wanted it. Have any of you done something like this, just up and changed unexpectedly. I've been fired before and had to look for another job unexpectedly, but this is different. This is weird because I feel like I'm leaving something good for something better, not leaving something shitty for something good. It's hard to walk away from something that is "good" already.2 points

He's been trying to get those who support him out in counter protests for a week now. I'm not convinced he's trying to get them to clash, he most certainly wants a public show of support to counter the current optics. But it's just another example of what Mattis said; he's not doing anything to try and unite the country. In fact, he's doing what he can to divide it even more. I don't think that he's a Russian plant. But by fuck, he's certainly doing a good job of acting like one.1 point

You got some good suggestions, don't think the pix change anything. Will ask if this is your personal property or an apartment complex? I had thought about this a few days ago and will say I don't think it was suggested to put up signs like no dogs or curb your dog or pick up after your pet. Personal opinion is still to go right up to her and say this needs to stop- pick up after your dog or take it elsewhere, period. Also, that wall needs to be tagged again.1 point

So I moved over the last few days not like a traditional way of moving 5 trips like this. Getting everything from point A-B i thought about some other ways but it’s seriously 10 blocks (small Pittsburgh blocks) away. And I had nothing at all else to do and why not push myself a bit more than usual. saw a newer model ‘vette these good boys just stayed on their yard as I passed. One barked. Nothing else. After that was done. I went shopping for whatever else I needed. saw this across from target saw this hell the fuck no at target That’s pretty much 80% of my belongings I sent my friend her in Pittsburgh the painting I did for her and I figured I should just mail it-it would get to her quicker so she sent this. her guy does watercolor and she makes the water color out of flowers and such Some parts were missin with the futon so the guy said he’s drop me off on his way home from work. And he did. He said he just kinda looked around the warehouse for some extras and pieced em together. Turns out -I didn’t need those parts because the pieces That are missing were for holes that aren’t there. went for a walk don’t believe the hype-that's a Fanny pack One thing I was looking forward to was cooking. this kinda bath And layin lookin at this kinda view1 point

Only a slightly different note, I gave some boutique bike cleaning stuff a shot. It was pricey but my god does it ever work good. My drive train has never sounded nicer.1 point
