  1. Finally some good news... Prior to my sixth treatment session I had another CT scan performed. My oncologist said that all of the cancerous growths had reduced in size by about 50%. While that is certainly good progress, I am not cured by any means. Treatments will continue as normal until another CT scan in mid-June. For now I am only venturing out in the public for my appointments. The last thing I need is the coronavirus right now. On an even lighter note: There a massive black bear that has been raiding our trash can. Finally caught him on the trail cam.

  5. Sorry -you guys have to put up with my daily walks. When you move from the desert to somewhere green (well, me anyway) I tend to really appreciate the colors and variety of just a regular walk and not having to search a desert for them Callery Pear Pyrus calleryana yo. This tree smells so bad in full bloom if I’m not mistaken found a community garden. Flowering Quince Chaenomeles speciosa this one is new to me something in the Prunus (Cherry) genus

  8. Well, here ends week one of COVID 19 unemployment for me, my income is cut by more than 2/3. Cancelled travel plans to Detroit, Philadelphia, Detroit again and may end up cancelling or rescheduling a trip to Ottawa for a funereal. May end up cancelling flying family out here from the west coast, already cancelled trips from the Canadians. Got hundreds of dollars back from the venues etc that cancelled and the deposits back from travel accommodations, that will help offset the immediate financial hit a little. My keeping a schedule has been a big help so far this is what I got; up no earlier than 5 and no later than 6, showered, shaved and dressed by 8. Beyond that I try to walk five to ten miles before dinner, tackle some tasks beyond typical like sharpening knives or doing some deep cleaning and have all my chores and stuff done before dinner also. For walks my latest kick is to look up architectural or historical self guided tours and use those as a starting point. I am going to try to add some study time instead of just reading, a perennial struggle for me. For the light reading I have burned through about half of the Raymond Chandler novels, re-reads on em but I always get a kick out his writing. I have thought about breaking into some PC gaming but have had issues with time management on that shit in the past. I am guaranteening myself from mixing it up with you guys on politics.

  9. Whole thing is designed to communicate a specific tone and elicit a very specific reaction. A dark map with bold red zones... Looks straight out of a zombie video game as it was intended. Again, disingenuous. Rarely, if ever will people call this out and oddly, many will defend it if so. So we keep seeing more and more of it and it’s more blatant as it goes on. This is why news better resembles the National Enquirer than objective reporting.

  11. So abouts when I was 19 or so I was out scoping spots and was cutting through this grocery store parking lot. I see this vert camaro pull into the far side of the parking lot with 2 bitches. Im squinting my eyes trying to get a better look and Im thinking to myself "damn that girl ridin shot gun is fiiiine." So I keep it moving. They circle the outskirt of the parking lot and end up behind me and I hear some girl yelling "hey mr.yuck! Is that you?" Im thinking this is weird. I dont know anyone on this side of town. I casually turn around and my dick shrivels up inside of me when I realize the girl riding shot gun is my cousin.

  12. Couple WaHo donks to start thangs off —- I learned of the Waffle House index used by FEMA earlier this month. It’s real, you can snopes it —— https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waffle_House_Index The Waffle House Index is an informal metricnamed after the Waffle House restaurant chain and is used by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to determine the effect of a storm and the likely scale of assistance required for disaster recovery.[1] The index is based on the reputation of Waffle House for having good disaster preparedness and staying open during extreme weather, or reopening quickly afterwards. If you get there and the Waffle House is closed? That's really bad...[2] — Craig Fugate, Former Head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency The index has three levels, based on the extent of operations and service at the restaurant following a storm:[2][3] GREEN: full menu – restaurant has power and damage is limited or no damage at all. YELLOW: limited menu – no power or only power from a generator, or food supplies may be low. RED: the restaurant is closed – indicating severe damage or severe flooding. The term was coined by FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate in May 2011, following the 2011 Joplin tornado, during which the two Waffle House restaurants in Joplin remained open.[4][5][6] The measure is based on the reputation of the restaurant chain Waffle House for staying open during extreme weather and for reopening quickly, albeit sometimes with a limited menu, after very severe weather events such as tornadoes or hurricanes; for example, assembling and training "Waffle House jump teams" to facilitate fast reopening after disasters.[2] Waffle House, along with other chains (such as Home Depot, Walmart, and Lowe's) which do a significant proportion of their business in the southern US where there is a frequent risk of hurricanes, have good risk management and disaster preparedness. Because of this, and the fact that a cut-down menu is prepared for times when there is no power or limited supplies, the Waffle House Index rarely reaches the red level.[2][4] The Waffle House Index sits alongside more formal measures of wind, rainfall, and other weather information, such as the Saffir–Simpson Hurricane Scale, which are used to indicate the intensity of a storm.[2] Dan Stoneking, FEMA director of external affairs, wrote in a FEMA blog post:[7][8] As Craig [Fugate] often says, the Waffle House test doesn’t just tell us how quickly a business might rebound – it also tells us how the larger community is faring. The sooner restaurants, grocery and corner stores, or banks can re-open, the sooner local economies will start generating revenue again – signaling a stronger recovery for that community. The success of the private sector in preparing for and weathering disasters is essential to a community’s ability to recover in the long run. — Dan Stoneking, FEMA News of the Day – What do Waffle Houses Have to Do with Risk Management? —— break —— so, WaHo is now closing 365 locations due to covid. https://www.wafb.com/2020/03/24/waffle-house-closes-locations-across-us/ Shits gettin real

  13. Rewatching Better Call Saul two episodes at a time. My personal rule for streaming shows is I have to be on my elliptical, ensuring at least 90 minutes a day. Next up Ozark, I guess. This time next month I’ll be scraping for new content or dwelling on the classics like The Wire or The Sopranos.

  19. Except it is true. We have been lied to the for 100 years, over and over and over. The Government has been doing that to calm the masses forever. The Government literally over-promises and under-delivers on everything. Not sure you live in America, that or you're completely oblivious to how the USG works. Might just be trolling me tho. I don't think you can even compare our response to China's, by this time in China they were already using military to quarantine, they were already locking people in houses, arresting people, and using trucks and people to spray disinfection all over the cities. I think you might want to dwell into some more research 🤷 This is America, if we enact Martial Law or complete lock down what do you think is going to happen? Lol, Like I said think big picture. We can't control this outbreak nor the people. And if the Government tries we will have a far more worrisome mess to worry about.

  21. Updated my battery cables (because the terminals were pretty screwed up/loose) to a kit from ceautoelectricsupply.com. I highly recommend their cabling. I've used one of their kits in the past on my IS300 for a battery relocation to the trunk. The quality on the Dodge 2500 battery cable kit I installed yesterday was just as good. Next parts that will be installed (maybe this weekend if I decide to go outside and do it) are: 215hp-375hp fuel delivery valve kit..... this will take my truck from stock 450ft/lb tq to around 750ft/lb tq and should increase the highway cruise miles per gallon by 10-15%. Single disk clutch that supports 850ft/lb tq. If you're paying attention, I got a clutch that holds just a bit more torque than I intend to make with the truck. Typically the clutch pedal is stiffer and stiffer the higher the torque rating of the clutch goes. Driving a stiff pedal SUCKS unless you're specifically racing in a race vehicle. DD'ing a truck or a car is not a situation where you want a heavy clutch in the car.... ask me how i know. PowerDrivenDiesel Air Fuel Controller that will allow me to manually tune the fuel deliver on the "mechanically fueled" engine. This is not normally possible in the type of motor I have. This will allow me to turn the power up, tune the smoke out of the acceleration/idle/cruise, and control the exhaust gas temperature (the key thing you want to control when tuning a diesel motor). 4x gauges that will be installed on the top of my steering column. They will cover oil/fuel/boost pressure and exhaust gas temp (EGT). Oil pressure is how you know the engine is healthy and full of oil. Fuel pressure tells you the health of your fuel system, mainly the fuel filter. Boost pressure tells you the health of the turbo charger and engine intake system. EGT tells you whether your motor and turbocharger are in a healthy working balance.

  22. What does the red represent here? Deaths, infection, quarantine? Also, what density does the red area represent. Indeed, disingenuous. Precisely the click bait bullshit MSM loves. Seeing shit like this, in an era where society has forgotten how to be skeptical, how to think through problems with logic as a general position, makes shit like this much more a problem, than them just “reporting” news. Worse is it then gets cropped and posted, usually as a meme, further stripped of context and then will be reposted over and over again as the bases for whatever “fact” is being argued.

  23. You know better. Government will say anything they have to at any given moment, regardless of what was said before and hardly more regard with what they may have to say later. How many times have we seen a politician adamantly deny words that are literally on camera and easily available online. In fact, it’s that the genesis of the meme? its always one thing until it’s not. Then suddenly it’s something else. Seen this approach over and over again ad nauseum.

  27. Some of you guys see things as too simple. Many USG officials are trying to quell the panic even with the data they're given. You have to realize even if the ship is sinking they're gonna tell everyone they'll be ok and not to freak out. Think big picture. It's a balance game and everyday we are leaning further towards chaos. There's only one step left for the government to control the people to stop the virus. Use your imagination if that was to happen how our country will be. We were already head towards complete divide prior to this.

There was an insane amount of spiders in both of them. I'm keeping the gears because they look rad, the big ass ratchet I found is going to get cleaned up and put to use.
