  2. $20.00 is fuck all in Australia - a 15 year old working at Mcdonalds makes $9.00 an hour so $20.00 and a load of fun isn't going to work when a coke is 2.50 -4.50 and a beer at a pub costs $7.00 upwards sheesh for me it's going to involve a lot of walking to the beach. swim two longnecks of beer $15.00 hot chips -5.00 Bunk on the tram home but possibly https://bws.com.au/product/904283/golden-oak-fruity-white-cask-4l OR wrap this around you and run the streets. eventually the coppers will give you a free feed plus you'll have $10.00 left over

  3. Since it was brought up earlier, I might be able to provide a little insight on my military experience. I joined the Navy in 2006, volunteered for Submarine service as a Sonar Technician and am still in, recently got my Chief anchors pinned on. It's been quite an experience and in retrospect if I hadn't gone with submarines it likely would not have been for me. I was 19 when I joined (so 32 now), barely got through high school, was delivering food in Denver and was completely broke. Saw it as a way out due to me having a crippling fear of student loans or debt in general. I have been in New England for the entire time. Multiple deployments, good and bad experiences, but big picture it has become an actual career which I am thankful for. I hated my first tour, but did well enough to get in to special programs and be stationed on the USS Constitution in Boston for 3 years following, which was an awesome time and sold me on doing 20. Went back to a boat for another 4 year tour in an actual leadership role where I found out I truly enjoy guiding and developing the young (or just junior) Sailors. Now I'm on shore as an instructor for the guys (and now girls) that are on the boats, doing the job. CT has been my home for the majority of the time. Bought a house. Got married. Became a dad X2. Got the dog, lawn and gang of chickens. The tough part in long work hours, unpredictable schedule and dealing with the entire ocean trying to kill you constantly. I have my wife who makes it easier because she's solid as fuck and takes care of everything when I'm out to sea. I have a little over 6 years and I retire and start a new career.

  5. A good friend of mine graduated a few years ago with a masters in aerospace engineering, he was an extremely talented mechanic as well. Basically he knew that all he really wanted in life was to ride around the US on his KLR with friends, camping and working small jobs as he went. Turned out to be one of the most genuine and honest person I know... I wish I had the balls to just ride off on an adventure whenever I felt like it

  6. On a more serious note, some of my favorite cheap activities from the past: • Case of cheap beer, gram of good weed and a good place outdoors to sit down and drink/smoke • Any outdoor/fitness activity with a relatively high quality meal for 2, prep'd at home and packed. • $20 worth of quarters and an arcade (shout out to the pinball hall of fame in Las Vegas). • Skateboarding for a few hours, with a cheap meal worked into the mix. • Bicycling for a few hours, with a cheap meal worked into the mix.

  7. @Limeliciouz- nicely done! The piece inspired by the inspiration looks great with only the M looking too close to the original, but you’re learning so no foul called... just don’t paint it 😉 The arrows - so a general rule for arrows is use them as battle armor. Always have them point away from your piece, not in. The original idea behind arrows was that they were put at the sides of a piece as protection from the pieces around it, like spikes. That’s why you see some writers with three, four, or more arrows coming off the left and right sides of their piece - they’re protecting their piece from the others on the wall. They’re battle ready.

  8. I hope I wasn't sounding condescending when I was introducing which I can now kinda see that. Not a good word smith, that's probably why I fire lasers instead of being a Psychologist because I would probably ending saying something that I didn't mean it that way, and the patient took it that wrong way and committed suicide. It's best if I just lase!

  11. When I was in BK I would go to a shitty old theater that was dirty and smelled of wino piss despite the absence of winos,BUT, you could probbly still get in there with your ticket/popcorn under $20. I usually bring a soda and a half pint of sumthin with me so no need to buy the theater's. This luxury theater shit is b.s. between the cost, assigned seating whatever. Also going to the movies by yourself is a good move, but then there's my girl's take on it too- with those luxury recliner seats she don't want to be laying down next to a stranger in a dark theater. Back on $20 though if we were doing it as some sort of challenge or something I'd probably try my hand at going to the casino and making that my limit. I stick to slots and $20 is typically my limit. Last time I was in the area and walked in with $20 and back out maybe 60 minutes later with about $100 (after buying a burger and a beer). Bought myself a tank of gas and went home.

  12. OK so while I wait for an answer from a customer, I'll go ahead and add to this. So basically I do not have a degree unless you count The School of Hard Knocks then I would have an associates degree plus some... Anyhow, with that being said, I started working for a machine shop (got the job because my father is a machinist) and slaved there for 7+ years, then moved to NC for 8 months during the end of 2007 and left the beginning of 2008. So at this point I came back home and got a job machining for the O&G industry and as I slaved yet again for another 5 years. I came to the realization that I am going to make 'X' amount of money, never really go any where and always be working for someone. So I then started to think if I wanna make more money and be a little more free, then what are my options? No Degree limits me very quickly. So since "systematic oppression" with the benefits of school debt didn't make any sense, my only option I had was to start a business. And that's were I had to really look at myself and think what are my strengths and weaknesses (what am I good at?), which ultimately helped narrow down what my options will be. Three months in thinking of a good exit strategy. Remind you, I never owned a business so this was going to be the first for me. Just gotta take that step. I was at work doing my job as I am pondering the exit... I came across Laser Engraving (not sure how that entered my mind) on the internet, and as soon as I seen it I fell in love with it and said to myself, 'THAT'S IT!!" That's what I am going to do, that's the business I will start. I had no prior experience with lasers and never seen one other than youtube. So I had to force myself to learn everything there is as quickly as possible and I am still learning. I took two years to save up for my first machine all while still employed as a payed slave, then it took 1.5 years extra (2014-2015 Oil and Gas Fall) when I told myself, "Well, I will never know if I am going to make it or not, so I better take the next step and quit my job." I DID!! It took two years to learn how light works so I could become confident or at least make the targeted customer to feel confident in giving me work, but of course I have a machining background so that has helped with the sales pitch. Ever since, I have been in business and still building for the fifth year and a few months shy of year 6 as I write this. So yeah, basically I own a One-Man-Band Laser Marking company that offers marking services for Commercial & Industrial applications (indoor signage and part marking).

  13. I don't think its a "touchy" subject, but I think the problem with arrows is that too many people use them as a way to disguise the fact that their letters suck. Most doo-hickeys fall into that, imo. get straight letters down, then worry about flair.

He had seen more of the world on foot than probably most people see by car. Dude had done hundreds of thousands of miles, after food and airfare his biggest expense was boots, of which I think he went through like 8 pairs a year if I remember correctly.

  19. Just a note, the second list is actually a lot longer than that. There are many, many companies who haven't invested in China for many reasons, including refusal to bend over for China. Look up what the 'former' CEO of Cathay PAcific did for HK and his employees. Google should also be listed for taking a LOT more CCP cock than is spelled out above. They really need a fucking kicking for what they've pulled.

  20. `I'm not super prepared to be honest but after the thread about the people on the train a few months back I took a few steps: Light: three torches ( two that can be lanterns) plus a supply of tea light candles etc for light. Plus some solar lights that might help in a pinch. Batteries to be honest are low because my kids keep using them for toys. Water: my house has 4 rainwater tanks that were pre - existing when I bought the place. We'd have 2000 gallons roughly but half of it is pretty scuzzy due to leaves falling in the tank but you could drink it in times of need. The other tanks are pretty clean so would be okay. Cooking: due to Chinese people living in my house we have a second kitchen in back of shed for greasy/ stinky food powered by a gas bottle plus a gas powered barbecue so there's at least one full gas bottle at any times Food: I have enough dried stuff for a few weeks but they'll be pretty horrible weeks. Lots of dried pasta, asian noodles, rice jars of pesto,, pasta sauce, tinned foods such as tomatoes spaghetti, beans, tuna etc ( circa 100 tins all up).,a big thing of milk powder. Weet bix and crackers some dried split peas and lentils for soups .etc. We have an orange tree that always has fruit on it - we can't eat enough of them . Subject to time of year we'd also have pomegranates, apples, lemons and another apple tree. POWER: currently my solar panels are useless - they feed back into the grid but I'm looking for a way to start storing some of that power to run things like a fridge in the back shed so that in times of need we'd still have cold (er) food. Long and short if things went down for a week or two tops we'd be okay but after that all bets would be off I think. Doesn't include gasoline issues which would surely be a problem after 1-2 days and doesn't include when the less prepared start to lose their shit. Side note these two have moved in under my deck. Bluetongue lizards. Have told the kids to leave them alone - harmless and good to have about. welcome aboard you good things - eat as many bugs as you want. these are a couple and will hang out together for life.

  21. *IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE POST BEFORE YOU PURCHASE* The 12ozProphet Forum Reunion tee is being released as a celebration of the 12oz community as well as a nod of respect to key members that have contributed to its legacy. Further, the release of this tee is also intended to be a rallying cry… Many of us are waking up to realize what we’ve lost when we traded niche online communities like 12ozProphet for the easy to access, endless stream of bite sized content found on social media. We’re discovering that we’ve handed over ownership of our online relationships to mega corporations that continue to sell out our privacy and sell off our profiles for incredible profits, without consequence. We’re beginning to understand that we’ve forfeited meaningful online conversations in exchange for a relentless contest of “likes”, with engagement measured in double taps and the prize being a “follow”. Now we’re finding out that the algorithms that hold it all together aren’t just promoting the accounts that suit them or pay to play, but that they also suppresses the people and content that don’t. We’re now seeking to undo the damage; to reestablish the community and to bring the conversation back home to 12oz. Please join us. -------------- NOTE: This release is being run as a PRESALE that will run for two weeks July 24 - August 7th). Shirts will begin shipping soon after. We have no idea what the response will be and we want to ensure it reaches as many people as possible and is accessible. This is not about making money or we wouldn’t be offering it for $12. This is about spreading awareness and rebuilding the 12ozProphet Community. You are free to further support our efforts by buying the 12ozProphet Forum Reunion tee at the standard cost of $40. To celebrate the community, spread awareness and amplify our efforts to reestablish the 12oz Forum, we are also offering coupon codes that will allow you to buy this tee at a deep discount. - If your name appears on this shirt, you have the option to buy it at $12. You just need to login to the forum and ask for it in this thread or private message @misteraven here on the 12oz Forum. You will be sent a coupon code that allows you to buy this shirt for $12. You’re free to buy extras if you’d like, but the discount will only apply to one shirt, one time. To verify if your name is on this shirt, you can search a text version of the list in the second comment of this thread. - If your name does not appear on this shirt, you can get a coupon code for $12 off. 23. You know, a day ago I was just thing about the odds in regards to legislation, and honestly I kinda get the impression most of these laws are set / lobbied by corporaterations to keep competition at bay or at least the laws seem tough financially for startups in hope to manifest discouragement all while the corporations who lobbied these laws are the ones who don't not practice what they preach because really the law wasn't for them in the first place. You know?

  24. True, although I think this is a bit more honest and a bit more along the lines of product placement. Obviously these brands are working together, smart on their part here. Probably not a stretch to sell these items together, they could probably add tissues, hand lotion, and sex dolls to that end aisle and churn a decent profit from the same demographic. But these are somewhat obvious. The algorithms pick up the dumbest shit though, like men age 18-25 are most likely to buy house plants on Thursday when the price of that plant does not exceed $12.99. Where it becomes more fucked up is here- retailers or whomever are going to adjust themselves to get those sales, and they'll even manage to get members of that demographic who had no intention of buying a house plant on that day. Further, when they've studied people after shopping they find that the person has no idea wtf just happened, and to compensate, their brain has to make up some b.s. excuse for why they just bought what they did. More on topic from where Raven started, everything you think/feel/do is information for yourself, and possibly others. The language example is a pretty cool one and not hard to understand. One I often think of is looking at what people here post on the Oontz. If you knew nothing about the person posting, you could look at something like what types of plants and other landscape are visible and quickly narrow down what regioin they're in. And yeah, all that anti-terrorism data collection netted basically nothing, bunch of b.s. to mass collect data on the people. But people still have FB after multiple violations to their privacy, so they're probably not about to protest any of these other things.

Shitty part is they get those fuzzies real bad after the first wash and looks like some shit that goodwill rejected. Might upgrade to the Mossy Oak version of it that Walmart has racks and racks of for $4.28.

  28. Meanwhile an adult ticket here, not matinee, is $10 for general admission at the nice theater. If you join their rewards club you get 20% and if you get the pro version for $8.99 a month you get a free movie per month and 50% off the second ticket.

  29. Cheapest I can go here is $17, that's in Queens with old school style theater seats (Kaufmann's) and a hit or miss audience. In Manhattan most theaters have been converted into modern "luxury" ones with recliners, assigned seating etc. Finding a new release for $20 or less Fughettaboudit. Best deal I found when looking for Joker tickets recently was a place on my old block in Manhattan, $21 to view on 70mm film, still old school style seats but great audience usually. Real movie buffs will go to the theaters by themselves, so if you're into the movie, still could be a great experience for less than $20

  30. For years i was tattooing in a really rich tourist area of LA so i got to see a lot of interesting watches. Used to be a cat who had the Richard Mille with the skull. Hate their watches but I still cool to see... current rotation... 1952 oyster perpetual. Fucking love this thing. This was the watch that made me stoked on watches. That subtle texture in the dial... owning that lead me to the Tudor, which has the same texture. I thought of it as an updated progression. Seamaster is from 1962/3. Picked it up just cause I got a crazy deal on it. I’ve got several other random vintage pieces, but I don’t have pics on me, so....later. They’re nothing super special, but they’re cool. Oh, Ive also got one of those sheik of fifty five fathoms, although I ripped it all apart and recased it cause I hated how bubbly the original case and bezel were. Cool story, bro.

  34. Alright so I sketched something just now concentrating on breathing room between the letters - no overlaps whatsoever. I did use inspiration from an alphabet I found on pintrest which I’ll post but I hope I didn’t bite too much 🙈 I kinda like how it turned out so I added a 3D n a few drips. Just not so sure on the top of the E tho. I like the bottom of it. I like that it doesn’t match the L and that it has its own flow. I also colored in the simple 3D n I think it looked better in my head but whateva it’s okay I’m a beatiful work in progress and so is my graff *flips hair*

  35. So I’m still at the begining of the line but I’ll tell y’all that imma get my drivers n then build n paint maself the raddest hippy van ever (crashable but not too livable) n kinda just ride around from forest to city to beach to mountain just kinda living. I’ll prob do some kind of online job to support myself. I have lots of family all over the world to crash by. Then after a year and a half when I’m broke I’ll crash my parents as a crying starbucks certified aesthetically pleasing artist/yoga weirdo with no skill set no job and a crying waste of space. Maybe I’ll at least be pretty. Or I could.....I actually have no idea tbh. I can’t stand the skl environment. The ppl, the classrooms, the stuck/small mindedness. So no college. I can’t see myself sitting around in a office either. I dunno. I’m thinking about animation tho. There’s some cool shit going on over there and a Disney job is a pipe fucking dream. For now I have a job with kids. I babysit n trying to work out another job soon with kids lmao. Funny how things worked out that the new guy that drags tables and boxes around at work actually is a super up writer. I never knew any local writers before meeting him but that’s how I got linked up with them which is cool. Just thought I’d add to a thread that has absolutely no relevance to me thanks lmao I’m glad for y’all that everything worked out kudos

  36. I’m about 8 credit hours shy of an AA. I’ve been doing general construction for about 5 years now and my focus has turned to me going forward perusing a certification as an electrician. I enjoy it but I don’t feel too challenged or that I’m using my mind enough. I tried helping a Friend run a gallery/event space but he got too jaded on it and our ideas about where we wanted to take it weren’t compatible. He owns and lives in the space still, but has given up on doing anything outside the occasional graffiti jam. Until my late 20s I had been making $ via various hustles (legit and otherwise) and writing graffiti. I may have met some of you over the past 15 years or so. Would like to do something that is more creative in nature or at the least offers me a little more intellectual reward. Part of the reason I signed back on the oontz is that most of the people I know into graffiti have moved or gotten out of it. Trying to stay connected with the culture other than what I do irl.

Movie takes a good long while to get up to speed but it’s far worth it.
