Need some legal advice, if anyone has experience or might be able to help. It would be much appreciated. Scenario: -2 friends are out tagging. -Random guy supposedly spots 1 guy tagging a mail box. -Random guy rolls up on 1 friend and asks to see/grabs his hands looking for paint -1 Friend runs away from random guy because he is kind of spooked. -Friend stops running because he states he has done nothing wrong, and was merely running because the guy freaked him out (guy kept up with him) -Random guy calls cops, cops question friend and take pictures (he had some paint on his hands) -Tells cops he ran because guy spooked him, fully cooperates with cops, …

This was taken from EROWID.COM, So all credit for writing etc. belongs to them. If anyone chooses to use this anywhere else please make sure they receive the recognition they deserve. INTRO One of the main powers that law enforcement officers carry is the power to intimidate citizens into voluntarily giving up their rights. Police are trained to believe in their authority and trained to perform their interactions with private citizens with confidence. It is their job to deal with problems and they learn to manage uncomfortable situations through strength. Most people, when confronted by police get a mild panic reaction, become anxious, and try to do whatev…

Alright so I started spraying on this big concrete wall of a building that is usually rented out around holidays. One day I was trying to get a bunch of little things up as fast as possible and pretty much trashed the whole wall. I knew it was really bad, but I didnt really think anyone cared. So today I was spraying near a bike path and a couple riding bikes stopped by to watch me work. We got to talking and they told me about how some kids were spraying some really bad graffiti on the empty store. The owner is having the cops find out who did it. I quickly realized that this was in fact me. So here is my idea. I want to offer to power wash everything off that wall…

Does anyone have any good advice on how to ask for permission to paint on someone's building? I've never actually asked before painting, but this time is different. I have an idea for a cool site specific piece and thelady that runs the corner store is so sweet, I don't want to upset her. So, any tips on how to breach the topic of street art with people who usually view it as vandalism? Ways that I can approach her so that she she sees the artistry in my ideas? We barely speak the same language, so I'm already a little worried about communicating my request to her in the right way.

I guess im just curious what everyone's crew/crews stand for.. be it just what the letters stand for, or what it actually means to you.

You've been a model employee: accountable, industrious, artistic and productive. you've got gone the additional mile time and once more, with a smile. Now you've got a family. Quite fairly, you expect that after you arouse AN altered work schedule that higher fits your family's desires, your leader can go on with you. you've got done your school assignment and developed a written proposal demonstrating that your new schedule is in your employer's interest. But somebody within the organization sees the matter otherwise and opposes your set up. Now you face a troublesome question: is that this CONFLICT definitely worth the COST? Sizing u…

Totally stolen article! It's a decent read even if you dont know the city. The writing on the wall Graffiti artists just gotta tag it BY JOHN SOBOL If it can be tagged, it'll be tagged. If it can be hit, it'll be hit. Starry-eyed kids driven by dreams of graffiti fame are tucking fat markers into their pockets and hitting the streets, bombing mailboxes, bus shelters, stop signs, shop doors, bank machines, subways, pay phones, sidewalks, cube vans, vestibules, streetcar seats... nothing is sacred. But don't confuse tagging -- marking a surface with an identifying logo -- with piecing. Pieces are murals, and piecers are artists. These undercover …

There have been people asking here and there about wheatpasting, so I'll give the 411. I nabbed this recipe from some political (Kind of)website. Mix 3 parts flower, one part cornstarch, boiling that in water, (at proportios of 2 parts starch to 3 parts water.), and cooking it down to a paste. Hurry to stick up posters with it everywhere with it before it dries. You can keep your wheatpaste warm in winter by keeping it in a drink cooler. Try different variations of it until you find your personal favorite. visit the page at www.crimethinc.com/library/youcan.html They also have instructions on how to make a mop and a new york style mop also. I'm going to try…

Let me know what you think. - Buda -BA- -WS- -Demolitia- (The original article is here.) Rolling Thunder Writers A review of Henry Chalfant’s Graffiti Archive: New York City’s Subway Art and Artists Volume 2: RTW, SA by Henry Chalfant and Max Hergenrother “Rolling Thunder Writers” refers to a clique of graffiti artists that painted the New York City subway cars in the early and mid-1980s. Sharing this new scheme applied by Rol at Graffiti4Hire.co.uk to my Tomahawk Futura jet. This is a 1.9m wingspan radio controlled model jet powered by a micro gas turbine engine. The model weighs 25lbs (without fuel) and the engine pushes out about the same in terms of thrust. The engine carries 3.5 liters of JetA1 fuel and has retractable undercarriage. At full throttle the model flies at 150mph-200mph. Models like this are flown at a number sites around the UK which have the proper facilities to safely fly this type of radio controlled aircraft without risk of harm to individuals or property. I have enjoyed graffiti based art for sometime and hav…

I've been writing for about a year now and i feel I've taught myself everything i really can on my own. i need real advise from real writers that actually work in the medium of aerosol. I've been an artist my whole life and have always preferred graphic design and working with letters. i like throwup's, when your out with a back pack full of cans and just searching for that spot and you finally get to it and start pulling out your cans and tips, getting set up and take that last look around and close listen to make sure nobody's around and then put the can up to the wall and watch the paint land on the surface as you make that first line with your back turned to the world…

Scribble Jam just announced their 2014 version. They will fund this through Kickstarter and they need to raise 100 000 $ to make tis happen. So they really need the support from fans. Scribble used to be the biggest Hiphop event in the USA and they stopped after 2007. And if they don't get the funds they need this time they won't try to organize this again. So this is really the last chance to make this happen. You can read more about it in the link.

Don't think this thread will generate much, but worth a try. I've been saving my scraps for a few years, anything that's quarter of a can and under gets chucked in to one of those big old boxes TVs used to come in before they were flat. That box is now full and I gotta do something with them. I'd like to mix some colours but I don't have the space where I can get messy. I was going to do the "wall of colours/ white word outline" wall but that's kinda played and kind of bitey too. I'm thinking it's going to end up being a big simple style stomper with multi-colour 80/90s style fill. Got me thinking - anyone here ever done a "scraps project" where they've…

This is an important topic for beginners, since it addresses your health and how to protect yourself from the chemicals used in paint, markers, and other graffiti tools. The most important thing is inhalation. Paint, as well as ink, contains chemicals that can cause nerve damage, cancer, brain damage, kidney problems, and tons of other shitty things. The most straightforward way to protect yourself from fumes is to wear a respirator. A respirator is basically a gas mask that covers just your mouth and nose, with a head strap so you can keep you hands free. Respirators are sold pretty much anywhere that sells paint, or has an extensive paint department. Places li…

I miss the magazines from the 90s. Sometimes i wish i can go back in time and cop me all the Can Controls, Crazy Kings, Under Covers, Hype, Fatcap, Xylene (from canada) etc. While You Were Sleeping used to be a badass magazine and had a badass video, until it started becoming trendy. Now all you see on the shelf is European mags and Juxtapoz (which is pretty much a mag to read on the toilet). When are the magazines that are out today, going to quit doing interviews with the same fucking people, or MC's. And taking their time putting in quality burners? We all know what a 2 color throwup looks like, but what about 20 or 30 pages of multicolor burners and fr…

Recently started going with people just to do pieces and bomb places and honestly i hated it simply because who wants to bomb with a terrible looking tag, rite? Its bad on me and its bad to the people whos work it is beside. So i just sat down did my tag 6 times and i would love all criticism, toys and pros! I just started, i understand it takes time and practice, thanks. My tag - http://gyazo.com/6810809e1f9122b166daa7bf92a87029
