Keep The Faith was the subject of a landmark court case last February. For the first time in British law, the authorities attempted to prosecute the publisher of the magazine with ‘Encouraging the commission of criminal damage’. Fortunately, we got a Not Guilty verdict and the British Transport Police lost the case. We made it into The Observer: http://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2015/nov/08/marcus-barnes-graffiti-art-can-be-a-positive-force-train-tagging And Vice magazine: https://www.vice.com/en_uk/read/marcus-barnes-keep-the-faith-interview Now, the magazine is being re-released in a special package containing a hard copy of issue 2, issue 1 i…

I want to make a temporary three-tone stencil on the sidewalk, using the color of the concrete sidewalk as the mid-tone. I read a little about spray chalk, and want to use black and white chalk for the high and low tones. Something like below (although with a different stencil). Does anybody have experience with spray chalk? In particular, a preference for Montana or Molotow? Does it clog a lot when you spray downward all the time? What is the coverage like? Alternatives to the brands listed above?

Hey All! I'm building an app to help record the best pieces around the globe, create timelines of walls to preserve the best stuff as it gets covered (or removed...), and help enthusiasts commission artists for private works. Would you help me out by filling out a quick survey about the app? I've started building the app with my team this weekend as part of a competition, and will post a demo video as soon as we've finished it later today. http://bit.ly/1O8Ox9E

I never even rolled with a mop until Dmyz DFW put me down with the really really real krink recipe, but it was the day I conjured up this lovely Richard The IceMan Kuklinski type killa shit that I got a visceral THRILL out of mop tags and became as manic and emphatically focused as I am with a can. Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls.. DYIN' TIMES HERE! Support a fellow graff addict who lost a lot over the years while spending every late night hour traipsing through the gutters of philadelphia and every daylight hour practicing his hands lol. Hitting Brooklyn for work at the end of the month. Cant really paint as this is business. Second time visiting and I didn't paint when I was around the first time. Any dope graff shops, galleries and great spots to check out would be greatly appreciated. I am aiming to just take it all in and immerse myself in the history when I am there. So tell me, as a new jack, where should I be heading to for my history lesson? Thanks in advance!

Hello my name is Matthew Stojko I live in Adelaide Australia. Please give me your thoughts/feedback on my new aerosol cap. Ive been working on it for a few years now I have created an Aerosol Airbrush. It's a cap for male and female aerosol cans the works like a double action airbrush. You can control the flow of paint through the cap on the fly. The cap will have an interchangeable tip, valve and stem. so you can mix and match to find the best control for different can pressures and paint thicknesses. It is made from strong and reusable aluminium, you can use graffiti remover (acetone in a can) to clean it on the fly or fully disassemble it and clean it out…

For all you writers that have just started and need to ask questions and want some tips....here you go. General Tips: - always keep your mouth shut - never tell people you dont trust that you write graffiti - dont 'tag up' your backpacks/shoes/hats and other things people will see - dont write on your school - keep on a low profile - avoid any contact with police ::::If police arrest you for painting: - never say anything, dont say that you did it or did not do it...just keep your mouth shut - tell them you will not speak until you have a lawyer present - never rat out your buddies - dont fall for their phony tricks "oh we will let you go…

Graffiti is a way of life, Its a great way to express your inner emotions, feeling towards a subject or issue or a way to exercise your talent. It really gives this art a bad name when mindless people continually tag meaningless and messy words pictures and or words. This art to me has no importance and should be avoided. Remember, Take your time and do a good job, Big or small because this can be a lot more then vandalism. Please reply and add pointers, guidance and tips in steps to become a efficient graffiti artist. Grind on, Temper

I come to this community of taggers to ask for help. All of you have the ability to help spread a message, an important one. All of us are in danger of radiation poisoning. The government is covering up the aftermath of Fukushima. You are the best urban writers of the city. The sheeple are stupid, they are blind and need to be pushed to see the truth for themselves. Please, use your art as a way to help. Tag words like, "Google Fukushima Cover up" or whatever you can think of all over the city. Make the people see it. We need to rise together to outnumber the government. Spread the word, tell your friends, tag it everywhere. Radiation poisoning will destroy us all and the…

Hello forum members, how are you? Im currently in the process of opening up an art supply aimed at urban/street artists, writers, students, and everyone in between. I have a few questions for you and would be mucho appreciative if you helped out. Im trying to get the ball rolling and come up with a business plan to get a loan but so far am running into a road block with the American distributor of Montana gold Macphersons. They wont give me the wholesale prices until I have a storefront and I cant have a storefront until I get the loan and to complicate it even further, I cant get the loan until I get the prices from distributors. See the catch 22 Im in? Anyways, after lu…

Sometiems I contemplate the necessary need to build up a graffiti resume within the culture, however doing so requires hard work, effort, dedication in regards to consistency within bombin.. goin out catchin tags, throws strategically so people will witness your work but isn't it easier to just go over some older generations work, classic burners and pieces with a lot of throws and tags, to build a notorious rep.. a disregard for those who came before you surely is disrespectful, but isnt bad way to get on the frontpage? thanks

Seriously guys, I want some honest advice and not some smart assed comments. :hatred: I just broke off a relationship with a guy who reads and posts on 12oz. Our relationship was pretty awesome except he would choose graffiti over me on many occasions. I know this is common and I just wondered if I could get a for-real reason why. Thanks to you who respectfully answer my inquiry! Peace :confused2:

Hey cool cats, been setting myself up with paint for when I have time in my life again. Been collecting heaps of off-tints for backgrounding/buff but haven't got any decent colours (most of them are just your typical beige, peach, cream or grey - light and dark - kind of colours boring people paint their walls with. It's all acrylic and a mix of interior and exterior paints - all different sheens. I know sweet fuck all about paint in terms of technical issues but want to be able to mix up the colours that I want for backgrounds. What do I need to know here, is it fine to mix interiors and exteriors, will mixing different levels of gloss/sheens cause any probs, what…

First of all, I ask for no sympathy from anyone. I just want some help as I embark on this project. I have to be on a walker for a while. Possibly two months. And I'll probably need it again here and there for the rest of my life. All I'll say is that Multiple Scleroris is a motherfucker. Again, not asking for sympathy. Just saying it because you might be wondering why I'm in that position. Anyway... I have this walker and wanna pimp the shit out of it. For starters, I wanna do an Oroboros (the snake eating its tail). I want it to be clean and crisp. Red scales with orange highlights, pale yellow belly with white highlights, green eyes, black outlines. …

I just started playing around with my Scanner's OCR... heres a few pages that relate to subway graffiti and the JA/Soni story from the book SUBWAY LIVES SONI, a.k.a. Danny Gomez, is very nearly the last of the graffiti tag kings. He lives in Bushwick, a rowdy, working-poor section of Brooklyn, the son of an immigrant Dominican, who arrives at work before dawn in the small bodega he runs seventeen hours a day. Tonight, SONI is going to war against JA-John Avildsen, another tag artist, the son of a Hollywood movie director, who lives not in a hardscrabble section of Brooklyn, but in the fashionable Upper West Side of Manhattan. JA has "dissed" SONI by tagging t…

I was just randomly browsing and came across this page. http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,3243622 I don't know how legit the facts are.. But I found this interesting "Union Pacific is the largest owner of reefer boxcars at approxmiatley 4000 cars with 3500 of those facing mandatory retirement in 2016." I don't get why these reefer cars are so desirable to paint if they're sent to retirement so quick? Of course I hit them any chance I get. But sounds depressing to think most of them are possibly getting scrapped soon.

Hello I'm a rather new writer/ artist that is planing to visit Sydney Australia. Could anyone give me some advice regarding tagging and piecing? Also, are there any good places to get cans and markers in Sydney offline? I have also been looking at legal walls but it seams like most of them require permits? I apologise if this questions have been asked before.

The team of kids that hit a late night Lillydale train at Heatherdale, please get in touch. I'm a fan of real graffiti art. Your hit was so quick and skilled. Wow. I would appreciate the pics you took. darkest_funseeker@hotmail.com You can use a bullshit account to send but kudos and respect to such a hit and run. The guy that was shouting abuse at you from the front of the train was a nob.

I posted this in the Massachusetts topic, but felt like it needed it's own.. New paint? At $11.99 with the usual 40-50% off coupons every other week at Michael's/Aaron Brothers, I may bite for a can to try it out. Different cap pack also under their own Liquitex name. Seems like low pressure with some alright colors. Trailer here:
