I posted in the brick slayer threads but figured to make a thread here as well. I'm going to the following cities on the dates listed below. I just need anyone down to show me around so I can take flicks and tag, and just overall check these cities out as I've never been to any of them yet. I'm a chill girl from the Midwest. You can PM me for my flickr since I've been on there since 07 and am new to 12oz. You'll see that I've covered a lot of the Midwest. So now I'm looking to meet some cool heads and branch out to the each coast. Pittsburgh July 23 DC & Baltimore July 24 Philadelphia July 24-25 (need a place to stay) Boston July 26 New York July…

So just had the idea with the variety of great artits we have on here and varied styles, subjects etc. it would be a good idea to post up pictures of you're canvas/sculpture/boards what ever in this thread and basicly if you're interested in someones piece of work pm them or post up what you're willing to trade. i know its not a new idea and may have been done but i think it will help people build up decent collections and get thier own work seen by a wider audience..just an idea like i said. edit*if a mod can change the title to work trade or something more fitting i didnt realise i wrote canvas trade.or delete the thread if its useless sorry.

http://homokaasu.org/rasterbator/ The Rasterbator creates huge, rasterized images from any picture. Upload an image, print the resulting multi-page .pdf file and assemble the pages into a cool looking poster up to 20 meters in size. These are a couple stolen from the sites gallery. Here's one I did. Post up some Rastorbations.

I always want to hear my audio while recording video with sound and my Canon does not deliver. Not having a headphone jack has been problematic and very easily could have been a pricey fix and in most cases I would get a lot more than what I was looking for so I did some investigating and I came across this. I have done some research, the FiiO is compact and to work it requires only a couple cables and adapters so I decided to give it a try. I ordered what I needed and the shit should arrive any day now so I cant say yet if its a waste of money... I'm confident though. Im curious to hear what others have done and how it turned out, I will update…

I am self-publishing a book over the next few weeks and have done my fair amount of research on the topic, but I wanted to see if the great resource of 12oz had any more insight on self bound book covers, primarily in the hard-back sense. Any information would help. Never hurts to ask. Also, if you're interested in a copy of the book itself, or of the general content, feel free to ask. Thanks y'all.

Most of my work is devoted to the period of World War II. The most powerful impression on me personally produces a series of photos about the siege of Leningrad, this is my hometown. In addition, here you will find the defense of Moscow, the liberation of Prague and Vienna, the storming of Berlin, some pages from the life of Paris. D-day collages will be ready soon. Some pages of my journal will bring you to the streets of the capital of the Russian Empire, St. Petersburg. Wherever I go, I'm trying to penetrate the layers of time. It does not always do well, but I try. -Sergey Larenkov. …

So basically some dude in Chicago bought a bunch of negatives in an auction, he started developing them and thought they were awesome, so went back and bought the rest of them and some undeveloped rolls. The photographers identity was a mystery at first but then he figured it out. The art world is now learning of his finds and is getting really exited over these never before seen photographs. Its a good read and she took some pretty rad pics thus far. This is her Vivian Maier Wikipedia Page Her work. The story. I acquired Vivian's negatives while at a furniture and antique auction while researching a history book I w…

I have three custom 40oz bags that I have picked up through the years and I have held onto them. Well now I am getting around to framing them and am looking for more. It feels like cheating because it has taken me probably about almost 10 years to come across the three I have. I found one doing a Google search but I'm wondering if anyone else knows of anything like thtis done by artist or whatever that may be for sale.

Ive always cruised the roadways, read magazines, perused newspapers, and took a couple of ganders of the business stickers alongside trucks. My observations sometimes frustrate me because some companies have the worst/greatest ads and company symbols. This thread is for those good and bad things were exposed to every day. Ive been wanting to see if this could be a thread to pop off. I come unprepared but lets see if I can work up a few examples to get this going.... A favorite of mine to see on the road. Knights Transportation. I love their logo. The representation of the name and also the blending into the letter is good.

This is playing on Showtime now. I highly recommend watching it if you hate how money and power is involved in the art world. I knew nothing about the foundation or Albert C. Barnes before watching the film, but it gave me a new respect for the guy. Albert C. Barnes: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_C._Barnes The guy made millions and collected impressionistic paintings from legends. He eventually built a foundation and turned it into an educational device, opposed to what museums and galleries were in the 50's. So he snubbed his noses at all the elite of Philly, and rarely opened his collection up to the public. One of the quotes in the documentar…

I have been checking out "off the grid" energy and all that for a while and I just found this system that looks dope, it explains how you can build your own solar panels and the resources are relatively inexpensive and easy to come by... here's the link for it: build your own solar panels ... Anyone take on any of these projects around the home? I'd like to do it just to save some cash and expand my knowledge/abilities. Anyone have some similar projects they're working on? I'm interested in becoming as sustainable and off the grid as possible, fuck the corporations! :D

I do this from time to time if something is in my way and I've had a few people ask about it. I don't take the time to make these perfect I just do it so the piece is 100% in view. I'm no expert in photoshop either. This can be done with an image of anything obviously. Not just benching. Roll through the spot and this rack is parked dead with a box in front of it, don't have time to wait for it to move? don't worry. Make sure you get a few shots from different angles to get all the parts you missed, select the missing spot, cut your selection, and duplicate it to a new layer on you original photo. Here is where you might spend some time. I took about 2 minutes…

Anyone want to play a drawing game of sorts? The idea is, you take a theme, and use two 30 second segments (or less) to draw two images pertaining to that theme. Mine for myself was "things that fly". ...Run with my theme for awhile, or create your own. One color or multiple. Any medium. Whatever you can pull off on 30 seconds.

I searched the thread, but didn't find one about this. I know there probably was one, so don't jump down my throat for doing this. Basically, I felt there should be a thread in here for skateboard art. It was a huge influence on me, and i'm curious to see what other's were inspired by as well. ron chatman this board kicked ass: the stick-o-rama (came with a bag of stickers to design your own graphic with) chris pastras: Todd Congelliere Ray Barbee: Jeremy Fish's rendition of Jim Thiebaud's classic graphic: Sean Sheffey: simplistic styles: skateboard art:

Not sure if this is the right section for this, but figured this is better then ch0, and fire spinning is art (maybe). But I am wondering if any other fire spinners on are 12oz. I've been spinning on and off for a few years and just started to get back into it a whole bunch since there is a weekly jam down the street from where I live. Figured I would upload some photos and see if anyone else spins on here or if anyone else is even into it and know it exists. I've recently gotten into doing contact staff rather then trying to mess around with poi, and am working on building fire swords so me and some friends can stage fights. I am also working on breathing fire whic…

this is bad ass and very cheap. figured some of you might find it very useful. http://magcloud.com/ About Us MagCloud enables you to publish your own magazines. All you have to do is upload a PDF and we'll take care of the rest: printing, mailing, subscription management, and more. How much does it cost? It costs you nothing to publish a magazine on MagCloud. To buy a magazine costs 20¢ per page, plus shipping. For example, a 20-page magazine would be four bucks plus shipping. And you can make money! You set your issue price and all proceeds above the base price go to you. How are th…

so the local council has asked my tutor to select 8 people to paint the side of a car park/police station. now i know the first idea.. pigs..lots of pigs on the building for some irony only thing is the council has final say and will pic only 1 design. now not to be big headed but most of the kids are on the art course because they thought it would be easy and get them the grades for uni, most are mediocre at best and the majority are looking at os gemos rip offs not even knowing who they are or as always banksy. his pretty much said i should have it sorted so that kind of helps, main thing is they dont want graff or anything related because it gives a "bad" im…
