The Wondering Moleskin project looks good. I've put my name down to recieve one and intend to do some outlines/sketching in it. Would be good to get more writers onboard to stop it being just bad poetry and doodles.

question for the graphic design/ typography heads... say i create a font, like each letter in illustrator, it is all uppercase... is there a program that i can pop each letter into in alphabetic order and it will make it a font set that can be set at any point size and whatnot??? i am sure there is a lot more to this and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction here... maybe it is a downloadable program thru a site like http://www.versiontracker.com ?? any help/ links will be appreciated. thanks

so about a year ago i saw a thread on how to print out images on to multiple pages, so you can join them together and create big posters. i cant remember if it was a seperate program or a feature on a popular one. people posted up some pretty cool work they did with it though i have been searching this forum for the past 2 hours looking for it. if you know how to do it, or know where the thread is...hook me up.

Anyone ever shoot larger formats than 35mm? I'm thinking about making the jump and even picked up one of those Holga medium format toy cameras with a 4x5 polaroid back to test the waters. Any printing tricks you use to keep distortion out and keep good focus when printing besides crazy expensive lenses on enlargers? Actually, I know there are photography threads on here but post any work (especially medium/large format stuff)

...there exists a distinct difference between so called high art and low art...this distinction originally arose during the sixties with the advent of the 'outsider artist'...a term used mostly to define work done by someone that wasn't brought up through the institution of art (...i.e...university study)...this work, while recognized for what it was, was degragrated as basically art that 'didn't count' in the realm of the grand pursuit of Art..this divide has continued and grown to encompass differnt meanings...there are now 'undergound' artists and a whole system of galleries that show their work, while they are kept out of so called 'high art' galleries...the line has …

Figured untitled needed this to avoid becoming swamped with questions all over the place. It would be nice to see this young part of the forum not become like the yard with 20 threads asking the same question. We seem to have a good balance of pros and novices on here, post them questions.

The first CD i owned was a copy of The Misfits "Stactic Age", Which to this day i still listen to on average about once or twice a week. I know there are ton's of Misfits fan's out there, and seeing as how danzig wrote everything for the band - as well as for Samhain and Danzig i thought i would put a thread together. Enjoy. "THE MISFITS" Genuinely shocking or tasteless, campy fun? It was sometimes hard to tell which way the Misfits wanted to be taken, and the immense cult following that has grown up in the years after their actual existence (1977-1983) seems divided in its own assessment. It certainly wasn't the Misfits' musicianship -- which was as crude as th…

There's an artist, Nathalia Edenmont, who kills cats, mice, doves, rabbits, and other animals, mutilates their bodies, and then takes their photographs. She's on exhibit, among other places, at the Wetterling Gallery in Sweden. She has taken the top halves of five white mice and made them into finger puppets. She beat a cat to death with a stick. And this is called art. This is not only inhumane, but morally reprehensible. Link to samples of the exhibit (warning! offensive content): http://www.wetterlinggallery.com/archive/n...thalia_main.htm The Wetterling Gallery's Justification of her work: http://www.wetterlinggallery.com/newsletter/newsletter.htm *****Lin…

Im going to assume that there is a fair amount of user's on 12oz who have, at some point listend to one of or both of these bands. I like both - so here's a thread that cover's bio's/ history/ discography of both bands. *This information will be taken from other site's. At The Drive In:"Combining emotional melodies and an upbeat rhythm moving at an unpredictable rate, At the Drive-In definitely stuck out in their hometown El Paso, TX. Formed in early 1994, the group debuted soon after with their first EP, Hell Paso, followed by a brief tour across the Lone Star state. With a lineup secured around Cedric Bixler (vocals), Omar Rodriguez and Jim Ward (guitar), Paul Hin…

I'd never heard of him until I got a book on him this Christmas. Basically, he immigrated from Austria as a child struggled his way to a job at the NY Times as a darkroom assistant in 1921 where he began his career that took him from tabloid photography to world famous photographer. At first his speciality was cover the crime scene and fires, after removing himself from the newspaper business he began to focus more on life in the city. His technique's and shots are incredible and sadly, the qualitiy of the images on the internet does not do him justice. I recommend checking him out next time you're at a bookstore. Born Usher Fellig in 1899, Weegee got his nicknam…

damien hirst a successfull british artist from the 90s most famous for his sliced cows floating in aquariums this is a compilation of statements i collected, theyre out of context fuck off this is what i think i want to spend the rest of my life everywhere with everyone always forever now nothing is a problem for me i am dying, i do feel quite strongly that i am dying i dont know how id deal with sexuality, it always turns into murder for some reason the problem with life is not knowing when you die, so with suicide, you could choose a point where you die. you can say this where i decide it ends, cut out the unknown element.
