well, I've pretty much been on Ohgr and Velvet Acid Jesus in the car of late, and The Cramps plus Alien Sex Fiend...

OH, and this one tape I found, made in 88

    NWA - Express Yourself
Sir Mix Alot - My Posse's on Broadway
3rd Base - Product of the Environment
The D.O.C. - the diggy diggy DOC
Rob Base - it takes 2
and a couple songs by my old band

the flip side was other songs off those albums, The Formula, Attack on the Stars, Brooklyn Queens, MC Disagree, and others, anyway, some real core for that ass

I just find it interesting that you classify this as hip hop... I can see how you could do it by default (with del on the track) but I'm still not convinced that Gorillaz are hip hop. As for my current shit:

    01. Craig David - Fill Me In
    02. Deltron 3030 - Mastermind
    03. Fluppy - Blue Horizon
    04. Agnelli + Nelson - Everyday
    05. OutKast - Slum Beautiful
    06. OutKast - Red Velvet
    07. Tanto Metro & Devonte - Everyone Falls In Love Sometimes
    08. Trick Daddy - I'm a Thug
    09. Wu-Tang - Bells of Way
    10. Jedi Mind Tricks - Trinity
    11. Slimm Cutta Calhoun - The Cut Song
    12. Dave Brubeck Quartet - Take Five

A weirdly fucked up mix, I know.

I just heard a kick ass mix of Take 5, with vocals (?) Who knew? but the words are tight and of course the song is untouchable... oh yeah, the mix was Dave Brubek, it's recently released on an album called 'Vocal Sessions' or something... was late at night on NPR

smart! the DOC was the soundtrack to my childhood. the formula is still one of my favorite hip hop 'joints' word. if you have it could you kick down a dub for your strong white brotha..

    …my Jigga, hell yeah. HAhaha…

I just got my coveted mixtape back. Its a recording from the college radio, from sometime around 94-95-96ish. It had "Tried by 12", "8 Steps to perfection", "Survival of the Fetus", some Underbombers, "Halloween"-Arsonists, "Blue Flowers", Hobo Junction, and some demo stuff by UnderBombers. Fairly new stuff (95), but its a gem cuzz the radio host, SPIDERMAN, passed away about 3 months ago, maybe some of you guys heard of him. He was pretty well known throughout the bay. He will be missed. That tape has some straight comedy, and dope ass ryhmes and beats. RIP SpiderMan.
