J.HollaBack
BECAUSE I GOT A... J O BIZZZZZZLE!!! Looks like I'm going to be putting in A/C units and Heaters in big companies an shit like that. It's going to be some hard work I'm predicting, but I'm starting off at $10 an hour, and it's going to be full time work with possibilites of overtime I'm sure. My work hours kind of suck: 7am - 3:30pm which isn't to bad I guess, but damn 7 am is crazy early, and at that time i have to have my ass AT the job site. Get 30 minutes for lunch. Dress code seems pretty relaxed, just wear jeans and a tucked in t-shirt, which is pretty cool. The people at the company seemed to be very hard working but cool at the same time. They were all cracking jokes, cussing here and there, and seemed pretty cheerful and family oriented. Can't beat that with a stick. so, sooner or later, you won't be seeing as much of me as I know you'd all like to but I'm sure ya'll will manage... ;) :D :beat: go ahead, say congrats. :smiles:

J.HollaBack
I'm not giving up on this job in a month or whatever you guys are predicting, its not going to happen. I'm planning on sticking with it atleast a few months (5-6 or so to a year) unless the work is just absolutely horrible, then I'm going to work as long as I can there, building up some character, and whatnot so when I look for a new job and find one, I can get a good recommendation from these guys when I put in my two weeks notice. /movin' on uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup!!! :king:

Guest
Originally posted by J.HollaBack then I'm going to work as long as I can there, building up some character, tease.... a job doesnt build character. it builds the bank account. trust me on this one: Sometimes hard work doesn't make you better, it just makes you bitter it's not like a doctor or a cop, you wont find character validiation in installing aircons. !@#$%
i agree. if you want character, move out on your own now, struggle to get by while volunteering at a children's hospital

J.HollaBack
kilo- youre wrong about that. overcoming any obstacle that might be hard or challenging to you builds up your character. shows people that you don't just quit when the going gets tuff. act like ya know. :D
!@#$%
so do you think bill gates builds charcter by overcoming the anti-trust lawsuits being levied against his company?
Guest
okay tease, I'll give you that one. overcoming any obstacle will built character. however actually having a job is one of those 'obstacles' most of us got over when we were 16. learing to ride your bike without the training wheels builds charater too you know! ;) I'm just teasing you... good for you. Now save that money man! Serious... dont buy yourself shit untill you have a grand in the bank.

Guest
those were kind of 2 different points. a doctor or a cop CAN find great satisfaction and an identify in their job. Unless you're Hank Hill, Propane SalesMan.... the trades shouldnt do it for you.
