I think there are 2 extremes on the 12oz boards today. One that wants us to bomb "sand niggers" or entire countries even though we don't know "exactly" who is responsible. Then you have the other side that still believes in a Utopia where violence is not the answer and we should should just turn our cheek while people kill innocent Americans. Very few in between. I personally feel whoever is responsible should be dealt with but not entire nations unless of course a nation was involved. Then of course military strikes are needed.

i am so in between on this..i wnt to "kill the camel jockeys" but at the same time I know it not going to bring back the thousands of people that are dead hurt or un accounted for. too much stupidity going on the world..i'm not in a deep thinking state at the moment.

I think the people going to the other extreme, arent these wide eyed optimists who think we live in some utopia...they are just freightened by the hatred being espoused right now and trying to counter those opinions. A swing to the right must be counter by a swing to the left if we want balance...

there has not been a single person on these boards and in these discussions (trust me, ive read every single one) that has said we should just 'let it go.' all we have said is that killing innocent people out of anger does not solve anything, and before we just go and bomb a whole country, we should find out who is responsible. but i guess reality interfears with your bullshit desire to make things up and sound intelligent now doesnt it?

Well, maybe nobody's said it explicitly, but a lot of people (yes, yourself included at times) have implied it...it may not be what you intend but it comes across. Imagine somebody finds a dead body on the ground, and they complain about how messy the dead person's hair is, or how skanky their clothes are...what about the fact that they're dead?..some of it may be valid, but this is a sensitive time, and it comes across as callous and contrary...some people actually went so far as to say that we deserved the attack. That's shameful.

I think we should retaliate but you guys dont have to be blatant racists about it. A lot of crap happened with my school and some kids sayin stuff. It makes me really mad, and then I got flack for calling the racism gay. There's people over here who may have the same nationality as the people over there... but it isn't their fault it happened, and no one should be treating them like it is.

i understand this is a sensetive time, and a voice like mine is not always easy to take. im a very analytical person. i view things outside of the confines of emotion. which goes along way in terms of dealing with them on a physical level, but admittadly doesnt help all peoples emotional situation. all i can hope for is that people see it not as callous, but as simply being rational.

 

having said that, i have never said it should just be left alone. infact i said that if you could put the people responsible for it infront of me, id have no quallms with killing them myself. im not a peace loving hippie, im just someone that understands the value of human life and doesnt want to see any more of it wasted than necesary...

I think do to the shock a lot of people posted opinions that were not rational thought out yesterday and we tended to overlook them. But as everyone calms down miz303 again stands out as the king of stupid.

I'm pretty much the same way...I just try to balance the emotional and the analytical as much as I can....I think we can all agree that this was some fucked up shit that happened, that maybe shouldn't be so surprising, but certainly wasn't deserved...and something should be done, with efforts made to not increase the cycle of innocent bloodshed.

exactly. what i think everyone [most people] are doing is jumping to conclusions on who is guilty, im guessing the majority of the population is laying blame to the palistinians, or whoever they are laying blame to, yet no one knows for sure. Who cares if someone admitted it, then denied it. maybe they were looking for attention, or maybe IM being ignorant - either way, quit jumping to conclusions about who bombed what, and shit like that. until everyone knows all the facts no blame should be placed upon anything

Why shouldn't it be those who would dance in the street, celebrating our innocent's demise? We may have done the same 50 years ago but I was not there to judge. Every minute is history in the making and so far we are in deep shit. For the first time I have become one of the people who back our President. I don't know who you were replying to but alot of people are not really calling for an all out war on Arabs. They might say that on this board...but we must remember that this is so fresh and that is the angeer talking. I for one have stated numerous times that I DONT want to kill or bomb an entire country. I just feel that once we find out which individuals were involved we as in Americans should handle it accordingly. I have never said "Bomb Afghanistan" or any other country.
