Johnny Depp will play Willy Wonka David Kelly will play Grandpa Joe in the movie. British born Freddie Highmore will play the role of Charlie when filming starts at Pinewood Studios in June. The latest cast additions are AnnaSophia Robb as Violet Beauregarde, Jordan Fry as Mike Teavee, Julia Winter as Veruca Salt and Philip Wiegratz as Augustus Gloop. Warner Bros are hoping for a July 15, 2005 release Danny Elfman will provide the soundtrack. Tim Burton says we wants to make the film differently from the first version as he finds it "sappy"! The filmmakers have yet to decide whether to make the Oompa Loompa's in CGi or use real people. SYNOPSIS Willy Wonka launches a worldwide contest to select an heir to his candy empire. Five lucky children, including Charlie, draw golden tickets from Wonka chocolate bars and win a guided tour of the legendary candy-making facility that no outsider has seen in 15 years.
