Smart
I'm not sure dude is looking for the suite editing capability... he's after stuff like VDub (but I dunno if that is out anymore...) I came up on some Blaze Master Pro which sounds gay and is more packaging than power but seems to do alot easy mostly I convert and combine files, some fx... (vegas and premiere are never used professionally and finalcut is, but it's not close to the avid) there's a free and simple version of avid called 'freeDV' http://www.avid.com/freedv/ - for mac and pc

Issac Brock
vegas video is the way to go for n00bs and the experienced. cosigned
RumPuncher
cosigned un-signed! Vegas 6 is a decent app, but let's see you get that project to broadcast. Maybe with a high end video card you can do SDI output to a DVCPRO50 deck or even a digibeta if you're lucky, but there's way too many other varibles (like bad edls, no OMF support to pro-tools, limited colour correction, no neg lists etc) like I said before: Avid is the way to go. I mean, we all know you're Captain Video and all, but... c'mon. Dude doesn't need Avid.
Guest Ginger Bread Man
hey rumpunch has killer advice... frankly i use fc studio<licensed>, im not baller type to go spend super retardo money on avid or the real legit vegas. is that your setup rumpunch? im not much for running heavy apps on a pc...overall experience is i dont like it. to answer yall. u running a windows platform or macos ? imovie is super ultra mega easy to use for mac. as far as for pc. windowns movie maker seems to be super easy<this from my morning test drive> any and all of these programs are relatively easy to find floating around space, that is if u search a little. Guest Ginger Bread Man
rumpunch. u can also use a dvcam sony dsr 11 deck to broadcast. this as long as the pc has firewire
Forte
WWM sucks, it crashes too much. get something like vegas, pinnacle, or Ulead.
RumPuncher
rumpunch. u can also use a dvcam sony dsr 11 deck to broadcast. this as long as the pc has firewire depends on the network. and yes mamerro... I know I think I'm Captain Video, but if you check my first post: there's a free and simple version of avid called 'freeDV' http://www.avid.com/freedv/ - for mac and pc I was only getting into the heavy shit because people started talking about vegas and fcp and like. Guest Ginger Bread Man
i know the networks ive gone through support dvcam formats. you really can do some basic things with any basic editing program...
