i put trance right up there with pop and country...

i'd like to roll into a rave, commandeer the

sound system and make their ears bleed

with a full volume barrage of merzbow:o

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO for boogie....

yes Breaks is the last rhelm of decent, creative, progressive electronic music... but drum'n'bass is no where near the evils of trance.

Now that Goldie, Aphex Twin and Massive Attack have drifted away,

the shit's on again. Ram Triliogy!

what about 2step? Is say Re-re-wind, crowd say BO!.. selecta

I hate "Nu-Nrg" breaks.

It's like bad trance recycled.

and dubya.... not it's not about techno... it's about trance.

That's my pet peeve. People say all electronic dance is techno.

It's not! Real techno would be insulted!

bah....i scoff at stagnant drum and bass

it went from well structured tracks to complete shits, its nothing but the same recycled drum patterns and some distorted broken bassline, that shit was done and perfected from 95 to 98 (no u turn, metalheadz, what???)...after that its a lot of tiresome imitation...ohhhh, look at me, i have an amen coupled with a hovering bassline...wow, original, with the exception of omni trio who seemed to have stayed away from that "lets break our equipment and then plug it in to see what kind of noises we can make" sound....if i was british id call rubbish....wait, my moms side is british...rubbish

enough raver chat

i've heard an album's worth of omni trio, i can't remember which one, but

to me that was some severely uninventive boring ass unspectacular music, dnb

or not. 95% of any genre is the shits. concentrate on the 5% groundbreaking inventive original schtuffs.

It's funny, although I agree with Boogie's description of drum n' bass, I still fucking love it to death. There's something about that specific texture of sound, the rhythm it carries, and the rawness of it that just seems to have carved out a niche in my brain as the specific type of music that gets my machinery moving. Even though when I'm working, reading, drawing, or doing anything that requires calculated thought, I like to listen to more complex shit like Aphex or Scud, when I really need to get my energy going it's all about blasting hard two-step by Bad Company or Panacea.

Other kinds of lyrics-based musical genres, with the exception of some hip hop, aren't cutting it for me anymore. As for trance, it's not my shit, but for some reason it sounds fun when you're drunk and in a car. I think the reason I dislike it is because it's so damn easy to listen to, and so mathematically formulated to sound perfect. I mean, it's pretty amazing that it can do that, but I prefer to listen to stuff that challenges my brain and ears.

Browner, hook me up with suggestions on challenging, noisy tracks to download. Beer,
