-Irreversible.. French film, amazing, makes you realize how every little thing you do changes your life. Some scenes are very disturbing.. very. All you gore freaks would love it.

-American Movie... hilarious, cute, makes you realize you can accomplish anything if you set your mind to it.

-Requiem For a Dream... makes you want to stay away from the meth.

-Super Size Me... although Im a pescatarian and dont eat fastfood regardless, this movie just made me disgusted by how unhealthy Americans are and why people dismiss it.

Set in 1931 Australia, after being abducted from their homes by the government to be trained as domestic staff for a white family, three Aboriginal girls escape from their captors and begin the long walk home across the Outback, following the rabbit-proof fence.

Saw this when I was about 15, when I was watching a movie every day and spending all my allowance/summer job money at the video store. It scared the crap out of me. I've seen it probably 6 or 7 times since and own the Criterion Edition and it still works. The director, Herk Harvey, specialized in industrial training videos and had never before and never since made a feature film. Cult classic.

My mom is trained as an addiction counselor and chaplain. She had to give a presentation on drug use counseling to some board of hospital directors last year and instead of standing up there and talking, she showed scenes from Requiem For A Dream.

I guess everyone should see it.

Classic and weird. Involves a police man investigating a missing person case on a remote island in Scotland populated by Pagans. Lots of boobs and a very powerful ending. Of course, it's being remade starring Nicolas Cage and without anything Scottish or Pagan. And it's going to be a love story. Blah. See the original.

Suspiria (1977)

Dario Argento

Horror.

A young American dancer travels to Europe to join a famous ballet school. As she arrives, the camera turns to another young woman, who appears to be fleeing from the school. She returns to her apartment where she is gruesomely murdered by a hideous creature. Meanwhile, the young American is trying to settle in at the ballet school, but hears strange noises and is troubled by bizarre occurrences. She eventually discovers that the school is merely a front for a much more sinister organisation.

Fucking great film.

Also, Godfathers 1 and 2

Sexy Beast is cool, (my sig)

Amores Perros is a BRILLIANT movie. It is also by the same guy who did 21 Grams, another great movie...

ROTTENTOMATOES.com

13 Conversations About One Thing - Suprisingly similar to the above in construct and in its subtle meloncholy approach, this is my favorite movie - I love the subtlety and beauty of the last scene..

MORE TOMATO

The Natural - Its a great older baseball movie, but it is about so much more if you watch the symbolism...

8 1/2 - Not only is it cool to be able to talk about Italian Directors but they made some good movies...

A satire of the media and a serious drama. Relevant even today, and a forgotten classic.

More scarring than your worst nightmare, with some of the best horror imagery around for those not into gore, and some good gore shit, too.

A true graffiti artist, and look at the cast. Now realize that there are about 20 other awesome actors/actresses in this movie.

Should have won best picture over Chicage. Heart-breaking, and any musician with respect for their self should see this.

Very similar to Rosemary's Baby, another Polanski great. This one is a little more demented, though.
