Remember when you were a kid and you actually got prizes in the cereal box instead of "Send three box tops and $14.99 for this crappy substandard toy with our logo on it."?

I was looking around and found these ads from old comic books. I wasnt this stuff and I want if for the prices listed god dammit.

Remember you could win like a dream vacation and 5 billion dollars and beautiful women and a home theater system and a new house and your own private jet for like one token in the back of comics???

I am beginning to think that the end of these types of promotions signify the downfall of America. It used to be about the customer and doing any stupid ass thing they could to get your business. Now it's all greed and brand recognition. We have become the perfect consumers. I say it's time to stand up and take back our heritage. Tell businesses that you demand your FREE LIVE BABY MONKEY right now as your god given right.!!!!!

Me and my boy used to send away for all of that shit.

One time we sent away for a book on "how to throw your voice". The picture on the cover was some guy saying "you wimp" and making it seem as if some other small guy was saying to to this big built dude. The book cost $2.00 plus S/H. The VERY first line of the book said
"It is impossible to have voice originate from another spot." And all it did was teach you how to talk while exhaling - which did nothing but give us sore throats.

We also bought some $7 plans to build our own hover craft that could go 150ft up in the air and hold two people. When it came it was some little 10 page phamplet that said we needed all of this crazy shit like air compressors and vet/dry vaccum engines. and the thing had to be plugged into a wall to work.

I was also going to buy a chameleon out of the back of a mag. but I thought that it'd die by the time it got to my house. The ad was like "Chameleons make great pets. Get 1 baby chameleon and an 8 yr supply of food for only $4.50!"

    wisdom.

I'll tell you what is nice...fast food restraunts fighting for my buisness. This dollar menu craze is out of control and i'm lovin' every second of it. The variety you can get with a dollar now is great...now I just have to decide whether i want the jalepeno cheeseburger or the 1/2 pound bean n cheese burrito...
