    • they get holes in everything
    • difficult to operate
    • restricting cords, or lots of battaries
    • loud
    • consumes valuable space
    • dangerous if used wrong

whats the deal with drills anyways. i think they suck. discuss this amongst yourselves.

how about when you put random objects like boards with stuck nails in the chuck and they suddenly hit something and stop spinning, twisting your wrists? also when they slip out and fly across the room and dent stuff, i hate that.

haha, i didn't even notice this thread!
i don't use the drill too often, because when i attempt to use it,
a certain someone gets annoyed and tells me:

"you're doing it wrong...here, let me do it!"

and takes the drill from me.
    oh well...

    word, peanut.

one day I was using a drill press over at my neighbor's garage.
I was boring out a hole in a copper battery terminal end that was attached to a small length of heavy gauge wire (for my car stereo)
as I lowered the drill bit into the soft copper, the bit took hold of the cable and started whipping it around. before I realized what was going on, the other end of the cable ripped a big chunk out of the top of my thumb.

I'm not really cool with blood and losing large chunks of flesh. I ended up getting pretty freaked out.. started tingling and lost motor ablility in my hands and arms (shock?) Lasted for a good 30 minutes before I pulled myself together.

this is why drills suck. the moral of the story is don't be a dumbass like me and drill into soft metals with powerful drills.

all drills suck. except for those press drills, the ones you pull the lever down and it rips through anything that oppose's it, those are rad. yo j, i had a friend who was in a similar situation, except it hit his index finger. it was really nasty too. he didnt freak out or anything, he just yelled "fuck you" and tossed the drill aside.
