T=E=A=S=E Posted October 11, 2004 Share Posted October 11, 2004 who else here loves to play poker? i was a little late getting into it, but ive been playing about a week straight now and im fucking hooked. its so much fun. however, it sucks when you get in your money and youre trying to make it back, you just keep going and going trying to make that money back. i was getting my ass wooped the past few days but i finally got on a winning streak and won my money back. anyone else a big fan of poker? Just think about what you have, what came out in the community. What cards there could possibly be out to beat you. After you play conservative and win a good pot with a strong hand, you'll be able to bluff someone because they'll think you're only playing strong hands. If you get a strong hand off the flop, bet. Play And always remember no matter how much you got in the pot, youre better off cutting your loses than losing more trying buy a pot you cant get. 1988 Posted October 11, 2004 Share Posted October 11, 2004 There is definantly a difference between playing poker with a group of friends, playing on-line and playing at a casino. I myself prefer the casino (because I like to bluff a lot), but that can also cost you some big pots some times. type R Posted October 11, 2004 Share Posted October 11, 2004 any poker player with half a brain will catch you counting cards. gliko was pretty accurate in what he said. but it all depends on where your position is in relation to the dealer. this affects if you just call or raise the pot pre-flop. also if you play with increasing blinds, it is a good idea to raise the pot before the flop if you have a nice hand. even if everyone folds, you still got those blinds. also around thanksgiving we are having a poker tournament. we have them every other month. if any of you are going to be around Baltimore and want to play, get at me. Guest im not witty Posted October 12, 2004 Share Posted October 12, 2004 we play here every wednesday. last week i fucked around and was up 20 or so bucks, but we still had an hour and a half before the designated first allowable cash out time. by the time we got there i had lost almost all of it paying to see flops. i was down to three dollars profit, pushed that all in on pocket qq, and lost. oh well i broke even and went home smarter. poker rules. jakepaints Posted October 12, 2004 Share Posted October 12, 2004 i play alot, i love it, shits fun as fuck. im not kicking asses all over the place or anything but i dont suck or anything either. i usually play twice a week, i just started playing alot when school started. the way we play it is theres a buy-in for a certain amount of chips and we play tournament style, 2nd place keeps their money and 1st place takes everything else. i like that way better cause you dont have to worry about faggots cashing out as soon as they win a big hand.
