With so much shit coming up within the next few months I'm starting a new thread...

    De La Hoya VS Vargas

Pistol, if your puttin money down on any fight, strongly consider what Max Kellerman has to say. That little puke from friday night fights on espn. He bets on alot of fights...

another good article... a panel of experts just keep it simple an say de la hoya

another good site, actually great site for information on the matchup...

    Jones VS Woods

i'm not even gonna really speak on this. Jones wasn't even supposed to have been fighting Woods that night, he skipped over Darius Michalczewski (45-0) and Antonio Tarver (20-1). Jones is losin alotta love for upholding his record by fighting no names and not to mention, not even the #1 contenders.

no doubt hes a great boxer but... shit isn't so sweet with him anymore.

Lewis to announce his future plans

    Gatti VS Ward II

Their up for another rematch, but i can almost guarantee it won't be as good as the first. it reminds me of the Berrera/Morales fight, cause this time i dont think theyll be sluggin in out like they did the first one. i'm sure their gonna be concerned with their safety an fightin more conservativly this time around, but then again Ward rushes people and is more of a slugger than an articulate fighter... so i guess we'll have to wait an see if Ward can pressure Gatti (who can also bang) into another brawl like the last.

    Camacho Jr.

"COMPTON, Calif. -- Hector Camacho Jr. of Puerto Rico survived a 12th-round knockdown Friday night to win a unanimous decision over Mexico's Arturo Urena for the United States Boxing Organization's welterweight title at the Crystal Park Casino."

I;m not really to sure who I think is gonna come out on top. I don't like either of the guys. De la Hoya is a fag coconut. And Vargas is a loud mouth faggy eyebrow plucker that has his posse jump people at strippers houses. (no it's no one I know). Perhaps there could be some sort of Mexican Standoff type situation where both fighters hit each other in the temple at the same time and collapse dead. How ironic to have a Mexican Standoff when 2 Mexican-American fighters that were supposed to fight on Cinco de Mayo before rescheduling so close to the 16th of September.

De La Hoya has the advantage of being in a couple (very few) big time fights before, while Vargas is still very young in his boxing career. Vargas seems to exicted and overconfident to me. He might not have his concentration straight. Although it could be an adavntage to him considering De La Hoya has admitted in the past to losing focus for fights. Hopefully it will be a good fight. I'll check those links out.

    And you know it FIRST!

Nobody likes De La Hoya on the west coast. Yet he fights there all the time. He's a little whiney bitch. Vargas is a loud mouthed dicknose, but he gets his shit done. I'm pretty sure De La Hoya will outbox him in the later rounds...

but then again DLH's been duckin any real comp. for awhile now. I haven't really followed up on him in a minute so maybe I missed something.

I'm going to have to go with DLH in the 9th, if not then, a decision.

*Note the use of proper punctuation and spelling, we'll see how long I can keep this up... teehee *snort*

max kellerman is one of the few people that make their living in boxing that gets my respect. dude is a true historian of the sport, always putting things in its proper historical context; one thing i really appreciate is that he always gives older black fighters their due. he's obviously reserached that era quite a bit and tries to educate people on lots of old black fighters that got jerked becuase of their race back in the day. everybody else is completely caught up in the latest hot thing, which is cool, but kellerman brings shit back to an era where boxing meant more than it does now.
i could care less about that de la hoya fight. he's a bitch.
it's impossible to say with the second ward fight- it'd be hard to beat the first- it was a true modern classic. but my man can thump, and always will... i think they have no choice but to really bang. it will be a good fight.
i'm waiting for these klitschko fights. certainly the most intriguing boxers cming up right now. everybody's shook.

The dude does know what he's talking about, I've never looked at it that way, I'm going to keep my eye out.

Most definatly, when there was no nuetral corner, or no 10 count (standing 8) but people we're getting irreversably fucked up back then. Some Willie Pep shit. They had like 4 oz. gloves if that, when Marciano was breaking the arms of his oppenents who decided to try an block his shit...

    He's a regular Jones JR.

I'm not expecting it to be as good as the first but... we'll see, nah...

"The future of heavyweight boxing" or so called. I've been following them for awhile now but it's like a club song, everyone wants to act like they've known about it forever, it's almost funny if not agrivating.

De La Hoya ended up outclassing him in the 11th.

Pistol you catch the fight? It was pretty damn good.

We watched it at my boys house but skipped the undercards who were like Cotto/Brown and Alicia vs. somebody I'm not sure.

Ended up watching the Ward/Gatti I and the Berrera/Morales I before the Vargas/DLH fight.

" ``That was the signature fight for Oscar,'' promoter Bob Arum said. ``This was his best performance ever.''

He earned $14 million, added the WBA 154-pound title to the WBC belt he already held, and established himself once again as boxing's premier non-heavyweight attraction.

De La Hoya also promised there would be more to come.

``I'm hungry, hungrier than ever,'' he said. ``I feel fresh.'' "

There might be a fight with DLH an Mosley who was at the fight in the future.

"Vargas, who has made no secret of his intense dislike for De La Hoya since he was an amateur, immediately left the ring without congratulating the winner. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated for a fracture of his right eye socket and released. "

    Upcoming Fights...

Saturday, October 5 - at Las Vegas (HBO) - 12 rounds, WBC lightweight title: Floyd Mayweather (28-0, 20 KOs) vs. Jose Luis Castillo (46-5-1, 42 KOs); 12 rounds, featherweights: Juan Manuel Marquez (39-2, 31 KOs) vs. InJin Chi (25-2, 15 KOs).

Saturday, November 2 - at Las Vegas (HBO) - 12 rounds, featherweights: Marco Antonio Barrera (55-3, 38 KOs) vs. Johnny Tapia (52-2-2, 28 KOs).

Saturday, November 16 - at Las Vegas (HBO PPV) - 12 rounds, vacant WBC feathweight title: Erik Morales (41-1, 31 KOs) vs. Paulie Ayala (34-1, 12 KOs).

Saturday, November 23 - at Atlantic City, New Jersey (HBO) - 10 rounds, junior welterweights: Micky Ward (38-11, 27 KOs) vs. Arturo Gatti (34-6, 28 KOs).

Saturday, January 18 -- at Australia (SHOWTIME) - 12 rounds, undisputedsuper lightweight titles: Kostya Tsyzu (29-1-1, 23 KOs) vs. James Leija (43-5-2, 17 KOs, 1 no-contest).
  8. That was a fucking sick, sick fight, had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. You did well on skipping the undercards, especially the Cotto one. Major sucking all over the place. Beer,
