ETHREADZNY
Yes this here is one of those well hated apperciation pages. The Smiths are a guilty pleasure., and god damnit their good.... http://www.askmeaskmeaskme.com/photos/smiths3b.jpg'> Formed in the spring of 1982 in Manchester, England when guitarist Johnny Marr (John Maher, October 31, 1963) author of reviews for Record Mirror and former guitarist in unsuccessful bands was looking for a lyricist and suggested the idea of forming a band to Morrissey (Steven Patrick Morrissey, May 22, 1959). By September, the duo had settled on the name "The Smiths" as a reaction against all bands who chose complicated names to emphasise their music, and recruited Marr's schoolmate Andy Rourke as their bass player and Mike Joyce as their drummer. The Smiths made their live debut late in 1982 and their live appearances were sporadic. http://www.askmeaskmeaskme.com/photos/smiths5.jpg'> http://www.askmeaskmeaskme.com/thumbs/albums2/meat.gif'> The Headmaster Ritual Rusholme Ruffians I Want The One I Can't Have What She Said That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore How Soon Is Now Nowhere Fast Well I Wonder Barbarism Begins At Home Meat Is Murder http://www.askmeaskmeaskme.com/thumbs/albums2/thequeen.gif'> The Queen Is Dead Frankly, Mr. Shankly I Know It's Over Never Had No One Ever Cemetry Gates Bigmouth Strikes Again The Boy With The Thorn In His Side Vicar In A Tutu There Is A Light That Never Goes Out Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others
ETHREADZNY
Cemetry Gates Lyrics by Stephen Morrissey Music by Johnny Marr A dreaded sunny day So I meet you at the cemetry gates Keats and Yeats are on your side A dreaded sunny day So I meet you at the cemetry gates Keats and Yeats are on your side While Wilde is on mine So we go inside and we gravely read the stones All those people, all those lives Where are they now ? With loves, and hates And passions just like mine They were born And then they lived And then they died It seems so unfair I want to cry You say : "'Ere thrice the sun done salutation to the dawn" And you claim these words as your own But I've read well, and I've heard them said A hundred times (maybe less, maybe more) If you must write prose/poems The words you use should be your own Don't plagiarise or take "on loan" 'Cause there's always someone, somewhere With a big nose, who knows And who trips you up and laughs When you fall Who'll trip you up and laugh When you fall You say : "'Ere long done do does did" Words which could only be your own And then produce the text From whence was ripped (Some dizzy whore, 1804) A dreaded sunny day So let's go where we're happy And I meet you at the cemetry gates Oh, Keats and Yeats are on your side A dreaded sunny day So let's go where we're wanted And I meet you at the cemetry gates Keats and Yeats are on your side But you lose 'Cause weird lover Wilde is on mine

SPACEiNVADER
SMITHS : Actually really very funny. Why is it that depressed people are the best comics? If you like the Smiths check out Stephen Meritt's bands: the Magnetic fields, future bible heroes, the gothic archies, and the 6ths he's a l.e.s. resident too. www.houseoftomorrow.com/
