I've already done 3 films, and my next one is about a guest on the Johnny Carson show named James Randi. He basically talks about how Church is bullshit, and they completely rip people off by making them think they're psychic healers. Also keep in mind that the chruch pays no taxes. My shittiest paper so far is about "Female Genital Mutilation". If anyone would like to read it, here it is... Female genital mutilation is a practice that is still performed today. It is the cutting of the clitoris, the labia, and sewing of the vagina. This is done when girls are about eight years old and usually without any anesthesia. It is obviously painful when the horrific act is performed, and it continues to be painful for the girls when they’re full grown women. When the vagina is sewn, just a small opening remains so the girl can urinate. Sex is not pleasurable for these women, and it seems more like rape then making love. Some cultures continue to perform female gential mutilation on young girls for several reasons. Religion actually has no part in this act, and neither does ethnicity, but many people within the same ethnic background are supportive of female genital mutilation. It is often influenced by tradition that has the parents of a young girl violating her in the most intimate area of her body. Cultures that practice female genital mutilation justify it by stating that it helps the young girl in the future. A religious leader in Egypt is convinced that the cutting of the clitoris helps the young girl control sexual urges during puberty. The clitoris is thought to be an evil thing that confuses the minds of girls into having sex or masturbating. The cultures that practice female genital mutilation say that a girl is purified when her clitoris is removed. Young girls that go through female genital mutilation are prepared by their parents at first. The mother will often tell the young girl that if she doesn’t have this act performed on her, she will be an outcast, and will be unable to get married. Sadly, the girls often think female genital mutilation is okay, and it’s a way of life. Often the mother will trick the daughter into thinking she will receive a gift. Then the girl becomes terrified when she ends up in a clinic full of crying young girls. The physical outcomes of female genital mutilation include extreme pain in the private area for a undetermined amount of time, a greater risk of HIV, painful urination, irregularly long menstrual cycle because the blood can’t come out through such a small vagina opening, and a very high risk of infection. Psychologically, the girls can be traumatized from this act. She may feel abnormal because she can’t enjoy sex. A grown woman that had female genital mutilation performed on her when she was young, asked an American doctor to sew her back up after giving birth, in fear that her husband wouldn’t want her anymore. Female genital mutilation is prohibited in the United States. An American doctor went to these women that regularly have female mutilation done, and tried to explain to them how dangerous it is for their health. We should look back and think about whether it’s our part to tell other cultures what’s right and what’s wrong? Even though us Americans think female genital mutilation is wrong, in other cultures, male circumcision may be viewed as wrong, which is a practice that is very common here. All cultures have their customs and practices. They might view Americans as hypocrites by getting plastic surgery done..... and that's all I have so far. nomadawhat Posted December 5, 2001 Share Posted December 5, 2001 tonight is my hell night. straight to school after work to finish a welding project, then straight home to write a 10 min speech w/ visual aid and then finish my woodworking project with no proper tools. all on top of 4 hours of sleep last night. it feels good to see i'm not the only procrastonator!!!!:P but after tonight, just 3 simple test. oh yeah.... also i have the advantage of not having a cpu at home, thats sometimes hurt, but like so many others i'd just be looking at porn and 12oz, so all in all it works out. I just turned in a 5 pager last night that was due last week and and im working on 3 that were due from 1-2 weeks ago.
