dopest thing I've found on the net in fucking years!
all those "mental hygene" public service movies from the 30s/40s/50s/60s are on here. streamable, or in vcd/mpeg/divx format. great quality. this place must cost a fortune to run. thousands of videos. heres the summary from the front page:
Prelinger Archives is a collection of over 45,000 "ephemeral" (advertising, educational, industrial, and amateur) films. It is located in New York City and San Francisco. Since its beginning in 1983, its goal has been to collect, preserve, and facilitate access to films of historic significance that haven't been collected elsewhere. Included are films produced by and for many hundreds of important US corporations, nonprofit organizations, trade associations, community and interest groups, and educational institutions. The collection currently contains over 10% of the total production of ephemeral films between 1927 and 1987, and it may be the most complete and varied collection in existence of films from these poorly preserved genres. The owner is Rick Prelinger, who has presented these films through public screenings, lectures, and a number of anthologies published on CD-ROM and laserdisc by The Voyager Company.

some of the animation is off the charts. this place is such a fucking inspiration graphically. be sure to check out "Drug Addiction" the animation of what happens to the body on coke/heroin are great.

So the internet isn't all porn....

As Tesserect said, you could spend days on that site; excellent stuff.

Some of those movies were propaganda at its finest. Its scary how those some of those films tried to scare people into thinking untrue things about stuff they have no clue about.

i watched perversions for profit and duck and cover...it was just so strange to wach all that stuff...duck and cover is a film shown to kids in school to let them know what to do in case of an atomic bomb and perversions for profit talks about how prno is linked to cummunism and is destroying america's youth.
