The following illustrates the progression of a

brown recluse spider bite.

Just as a warning, day 3-6 photos are not too

graphic. However, day 9 and 10 are very

graphic. Your discretion is advised if you choose

to view.

my feeling is, is that this is jsut the course of the infection. I the body does what it can to fight the toxins. I doo not know about anti-venoms. But it looks like the hand was stiched a little to help it not fall apart, while fighting the infection.

I used to handle them all the time when I was little cause I love spiders... ignorance was fucking bliss. Guess who's not going to ever go within 100 meters of one again.

As far as I know, there's no specific treatment/antivenom for it (basically, weather it like a champ and hope antibiotics help), but the level of necrosis is not the same for everyone. Some people get their shit ruined like this dude, others get a much smaller ulceration.

Snopes Verdict: Undetermined

Google Image Search: "brown recluse bite"

Trust me brown recluse bites are nothing to fuck with. Dude's thumb is one of the worst I've seen, but a brown recluse bite leaves definitely more than a little swelling.

i wonder what exactly they do to fix it?

I believe they cut it out.

I've been bit by them several times.... The first time was on a bus in Denver. On a bus of all places... right over my heart. The venom affects me weird though.... It's more like a nerve agent for me. I started getting tunnel vision and heart palpitations.... Almost blacked out. Similar effects the next several times I got bit.

Now I'm immune. Yay for me.

They have those shits all over TN and VA. When i was living in TN this girl that lived across the street from me got bit by one in the ass. She didnt notice until me and my buddy pointed out that she had a big black mark on her ass. She had to get the infected area cut out or it would have continued to spread. Now she has another hole in her ass and would do neat tricks by sticking pencils in it and what not. I hate spiders.
